  • This time I am making a charger for my 18650 Batteries. It is a simple design that you can easily prepare at your home. For this project I have used a 5V 2.4A charger (iPad charger), if you are not considering about the time to charge your batteries you can also go with lower current charger with minimum 1A of current. Increasing the current will decrease the time for charging the 18650 Batteries.
    Materials:
    1) 18650 Battery Case/Holder x1
    2) TP4056 Charger Module x4 - ebay.to/2JzABd8
    3) Copper wires
    4) Acrylic Sheet
    5) PCB holder/Spacers x4
    6) Screw nut x4
    7) 5V Charger 1A or above

    Надо мощнее блок питания. Каждый модуль 1А выдает. Соответственно зарядку нужно брать минимум 4А, в идеале не менее 5А.

      Надо на каждую плату отдельный зарядник. Тогда все это дело попрет. Нада делать аккомуляторное помещение. Как на производстве.

    Be careful with making holes like that (breaking a part or not). Use old containers you have around for low cost reasons, maybe some on sale. Poke small holes at first and increase the drill bits for ease as a drill can slip and make scratches otherwise. For wires, buy lamp wire; you don't want too much electrical wire exposed. Use a glue gun for aesthetics or covering things and for firm constructs. Solder 3 times extra than you believe with power delivery otherwise you get disconnects all over. Just advices I try to follow myself. My best power banks are home made. There are many forms of charger circuits for little money. I also find good 18650 batteries as I have a pile of old laptops and I buy a new battery pack instead which releases a few "good enough batteries" and they are fine for a long time. Just forget the bad ones. Those that can't charge any more and they killed a battery pack.

    I get this design with individual cell management. Much better for battery life and safety. The question is how to integrate this into a rechargeable device? So you charge each cell at 3.7-4.2V, but what if the load is the 4 cells in series requiring 14.8 volts? Do you need to create an isolation circuit or relay?

      There are special chargers for this.
      For 12V there are specialized boards with balancing.

    I did it differently a little bit. I drilled 2mm holes on each side in the battery holder to run the + wire through the corner of each cell. Then soldered the wire directly onto the pcb. Drop of cyanoakrylate glue to hold the wire in place , or hotglue, inside the holder. This way the back of the acrylic is flat , i.e. no wires. Alternatively a copper tape/strip on the back side for bus bars and solder a small wire to it.

    I've had one of these built for years, with about 8 lithiums in series. Was thinking , a balancer would be cool on the same board. But, not necessary because the charger brings up to a specific voltage ?

      No need for balancing because each cell is charged independently by its own charging circuit.

    Дружище, у тебя получилось классное зарядное устройство! Надо было ещё написать: - какое сечение провода ты используешь... Думаю, что если использовать зарядное устройство 5V, 1A, зарядка аккумуляторов будет дольше, но модули не будут сильно нагреваться... Лично от меня - нравится, уважение и подписка! Пламенный привет из Российской Федерации!

      я спаял такую же систему , и у меня от перегрева отпаялся с платы штекер ,,,, собирал как на видео.
      в итоге заказал на АлиЭкспресс десяток ТП 4056 и подключил каждую через блок питания от компа , вот только тогда заработало всё , и ничего не греется.

      @@СергейСергеевич-ь9щ7к Потому что суммарный ток 4-х аккумуляторов при зарядке 4А. На видео у него ничего не расплавилось, потому что аккумуляторы были почти заряжены.

    Congratulations. Cheap and good solution for any number of modules you need in. Clearly visible charging of each battery. If one of the modules fails, it will be immediately visible. For quick charging 4x18650 is better to use 4x5Vx2A=40W power supply unit. Goog luck!

      The module does not allow fast charging...it only supports 1 amp. For fast charging it would have to be 3 modules in parallel for a single battery... if the charger is 5v. 2 amp. and the 3000 milliamp battery... it took 6 hours to charge all the batteries.

    Интересные люди. Ну не нравится, не делайте, а то тошните вместо того чтобы поблагодарить парня за проделанную работу. Он вам предоставил как вариант , а хотите делайте, хотите забейте. Ведь когда вы заболеваете , сразу же не вешаетесь. Так и здесь ситуация, возможно и поможет эта процедура. А продавцам похер на вас , они таких и ждут которые не пытаются,не борятся и не стемятся. А то что вы называете фирменный,классный акб, то и здесь не исключено что попадёте на фуфло. А на счёт этого восстановления, так моему тестю в эл.велике 36/10а делали точно также . Он рад безмерно. Дошло до того что он доезжал на дачу и ставал на зарядку так как назад не хватало заряда. После балансировки он теперь может преодолеть три этих расстояния и при том что и гружоный. Так что вместо того чтобы травить тюльку сначала нада попробывать. И в любом случае поблагодарить человека что дал вам вариант попробовать, поэксперементировать.

      Every module is capable of charging only 1 battery. So 1 module for every battery is needed. Although I feel it would have been better to make a powerbank instead which would have both capabilities.

      @@namangupta86 no, you can just put all the 18650cells in parralel. A balance charger is only required when you run them in series.

    Shall i connect 2 battery in parallel and charge using single tp4056 module.. It is possible or not. Any problem occur in battery or not

      Since you're connecting the batteries in parallel, that should not be a problem (given the batteries are of the same starting voltage before connecting). But by doing that, you'll have to wait ~2x longer than just charging 1 battery.

    What is the voltage? I am trying to do the same thing but with three batteries. And then I want to get the output voltage to be 9V. But when I put the Output voltages in series, I only get 3.7V.

    Not a good idea because the current limit of 1amp will be exceeded while using charging 1 and 2 cell in a 4 cell setup and the chip will smoke.
    Some kind of current limiting arrangement should be used to limit 1 amp current to each of the 4 modulea in the setup.

    Только лучше 4 зарядки и не паралелить их. Будет быстрее заряжаться. А то так 2 ампер будет заряжать 2,5х4=10 ампер примерно 6 часов. И сама зарядка хоть бы месяц протянула с полной нагрузкой.

      можно подключить лабораторный блок питания ,если даже на 2 А ,так,как акб заряжать надо по 500мА ,так ,что спокойно 4 акб зарядит .

      @@rubenhayastan4854 Ну так зарядит, только 2500/500=5 часов, а с потерями все 6 часов получится, вот о чем речь. А в 4 раза мощнее за 1,5 часа зарядит, к чему мы обычно уже привыкли - зарядка 1-2 часа

      The USB cable provides 1.5 amp, 5volt current to the Module which then charges the lithium cells.
      So any solar panel with a output above 5 volt in series with a 5 volt regulator with do the job

      The TP 4056 for 18650 battery in addition to the Micro connector for charger connection has + and - terminals for connecting the battery. Watch the video carefully when it comes to 0:21 you see that the man has brought 4 TP4056 modules closer to the camera and you will see that there are + and - contacts next to the Micro connector to connect the solar panel.

    Nice video!
    A question though....you used a 2.4A charger and wrote in the description that you can go for a lower current charger if time isnt an issue...but isnt 2.4A for 4 batteries( 0 .6A per battery) already quite low for a 3000mah battery? I'm new to how chargers and batteries work...so am I missing something here?

      it wont charge full 1 amp each battery some batteries ...when they are above 4 volt say 1 battery...it charges with very low current so the other 3 get more current drawn until 4 volts..also i have couple of usb with 2a and 2.4 and most of them i get higher currents almost as high as 3 amp still 4.9 volts on it.

      At highest two, but i recommend to charge one at a time, it makes the battery health stay good

    merhaba dediğiniz gibi yaptım bir kaç sorum olacak. Laptopum şarda yüzde 70 80 gibi görünürken şarjdan kesince 5 10 dakikada kapanıyor. ben de bu yüzden pilleri çıkardım
    ölçtüğümde aldığım değerler 3,82 - 3,83 - 3,84 - 4,07 sizin yaptığınız gibi şarj aleti yaptım aklıma bir kaç soru takıldı
    1- ne kadar süre şarj etmem gerek
    2- bi 10 15 dakikalık şarjdan sonra ölçüm 4,02 iken boş halde durmasına rağmen 4,02 ye düştü daha da düşer mi bilmiyorum
    3- pilin şarj tam kapasite şarj olup olmadığını nasıl anlarım (düzenek ışıklarından belli olur mu?)

    hi. after disconnecting my laptop charger my batter dies in 5-7 minutes. so i remowed my laptops batteries when i checked them it varies 3,82 - 3,83 3,84 - 4,07 so i charged with tp4056 so i have some question
    1- how long should i charge them
    2 how can i understand they are charged fully
    3 after a 10 15 minutes charging some of my batteries decreased 4,07 to 4,02 even they are free (not charged or used)
    4 what can i do apart from those techniques ( by the way i am not experienced of electricity i just watch videos :)

    Those wires looks like bare copper wire. Enamelled copper wire is more safer.

      Yup any Li-ion battery under 4V.
