Jeff, as a multi-generation South Trentionian... You *NAILED* it with this tour!! I left the city many years ago for the suburbs Bucks County as Trenton crime rates soared. For an area with such rich history and a deep personal meaning to myself, it's truly sad to see the current conditions there. The world took all it could from Trenton and then some. Thank you for the great video Jeff!!You really have to go back to Delorenzo's for their Trenton Tomato Pie. It's made a little differently than regular pizza, and it's *TO DIE FOR!!* 😊❤

Jeff, speaking of Trenton something that happens in April and December now at the Cure Arena on Broad Street is The Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market probably the biggest market of its kind on the east coast. Oddities, crafts, weird stuff etc., hundreds of vendors, a bunch of food trucks and just a great atmosphere with a bunch of nice tolerant people, we go everytime it's held! If you get a chance check it out in April next year!

Traveling every summer out West, there are ghost towns and ruins left behind. Once booming towns. Taught me nothing is permanent. The good times don't last forever and bad times can get better.

It's such a shame what has happened to Trenton. There is so much potential. You drove by a lot of my old spots I used to cop lol. Thankfully , I'm blessed to have made it out of that cycle of my life. Thanks for shedding some much needed light on the city of Trenton.

Jeff I'm glad you mentioned the reason why Trenton declined so rapidly. When companies began outsourcing the manufacturing it really hurt the city. Many people don't know this. And poverty leads to homelessness which leads to everything else.....

It’s sad to see the decline of these towns / cities , it’s the same here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 these places are rich in history and were just letting them decline , obviously they need investment which would create better jobs , but that’s not the only factors. And is the focus generally on these growing cities. 🤷‍♂️
Great video Jeff and thanks for sharing, I sent you an email by the way, try and find the time to read it good man 😎🙌

I was really disappointed with your walking tour because you walked a Sunday, in the winter. Ever6thing was closed. Granted Trenton is no tourist town. It’s bleak. There are 0lent6 of boarded up shop fronts. But the same can be said for Market street in downtown SF. I am not a Trenton booster. But you could have presented a more well rounded tour. I worked in downtown Trenton for twenty years pre pandemic. It has never been pretty but it has been lively. It’s not Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood. But after 6pm it’s a ghost town. Considering Trenton is the location of NJ’s state government it makes no sense that the middle class does not live here. It could be a DC’s Georgetown if a stable middle class population moved here. It has the bones for that. What’s holding it back? The school district. Nobody wants there kids in those schools. The housing stock is so run down it would probably be cheaper to tear down and rebuild. But it would be a shame to loose that period look and scale. Take a look at another small town, Princeton. The university is the engine that makes that little town a gem. State government could have done that for Trenton but the lack of imagination and will let Trenton slip away.

I worked near Trenton in a Tool and Die shop then they moved down south. Trenton area used to be the tile manufacturing capitol so many tool and machine shops. The Iconic bridge Trenton Makes is no longer true.

So I came to this from watching you with our Wendell in Philadephia. So sad to see this, such history and architecture which is an incredible assett. So much wasted potential here for the people who live there. The housing in the more run down areas would be considered huge in the U.K.People need to reclaim from whoever the landowners are I guess. What a waste. Whats going on? Still.

May I suggest a little research and maybe outline a plan before you start recording your videos.
Places like Trenton and Camden are so rich with historical places & events.
Unfortunately you seem to be drawn toward the negative narrative of urban povery and decay.
