- A band at the peak of their powers. A UK tour to promote the "Bug" album. Cracks appearing within the band internally. This was one of the last times that Lou played with Dinosaur Jr. before he got kicked out. But the power and tightness of the group as they blasted their way through an hour long set was unparalleled.....no other group could come near or even touch them! Their songs were to die for!
I came onstage to sing "Minor Threat" and then took care of bass duties for "Don't". Lou singing that song with that power and anger and intensity in his voice was a latent reflection of the cracks that were apparent in the relationship between himself and J at that time.....its a loaded performance! And Lou ending the set on his own, singing a Sebadoh song was perhaps the final sign of what was to follow.

I saw them live about that time, opening for RAPEMAN, glorious noise
Went to this it, was like being in a sauna, sweat literally dripping down the walls. Ashamed to say I'm one of the stage divers.
Me and my mates went upstairs for the encore for respite. Always wondered who the other guy was, turns out it was you! They didn't bother with the song they were promoting, Just Like Heaven and Jaundice was so bizarre at the end (in restrospect it made sense).
Only knew Bug at the time and Lung and Raisans absolutely blew my head off.
Huge thanks for uploading this.

I put on a show about a month before this in Vermont, last date of the US tour. They really were at the height of their powers, I swear the whole club levitated when the big riffs of "the lung" kicked in and never came back down.
People done say that "grunge" came from Seattle and started with Foreigner and Kingdom Come, but folks up in the northern mountains knows diff'r'nt!
Murph for Pres
