In this video I continue my headlight restoration frenzy and polish up my yellow faded E90 headlights. To prevent the headlight from fading again in time, a coating is essential. Will the cheap $10 ceramic coating do anything at all? Time will tell. Know of a good ceramic coating I should try on my paint work? Let me know in the comments below...

If I want to remove the coating for any reason or refresh it, how I am able to do so?
will I need another layer after a couple of months or so?
can I mix different brands of ceramic coting?
Eyes are the window to the soul. I think this is the best BMW headlight design. And with them looking shiny it really freshens the vehicle.
M T it definitely makes a huge improvement along with a little paint polishing. So easy to take a tired car and make it look fresh again with a little effort!
I used this on my is250 and my brothers car (whole car and windows). Still has that shine and still hydrophobic after 9 months. Only shitty thing is the water spots are bad when left in the sun. I think prep is the main thing to make product look good along with taking off any oils/residue left from buffing the car out before applying the coating. 👍🏻
are the headlights still perfect?
no its not. bmw headlights so ugly i prefer mercedes
@@cs2forlife go play cs go
I paint cars and yes a really good high solids clear coat has good UV protection. I have had cars come in I did 4 years ago and they still look great.
How are your lights looking now?
Thank you for the video
Nothing wrong with cost. Its silicone dioxide. Sio2 is cheap as hell. Its quality has little variance.
Wong Elfski good to know, thanks for commenting!
So according to you charcoal and diamond should be the same price right?
@@NSB25445 SiO2 will never change as a molecule. When carbon (black coal) is put under immense pressure, it forces the carbon lattice to rearrange, turning it into a diamond. So no, charcoal and diamonds will never be the same price
@@corruptx501
Why is aluminium oxide cheap, and chromium oxide is cheap, but rubies are expensive?
@@corruptx501 My point is, the SiO2 is not the expensive part of the whole solution.
I have used it on my bike it shines good.. But im still confuse between wax polish vs 9h mrfix. Waxing produce s smoothnes silkness amd shine.... 9h produces deep shine but not smooth amd silky.
I find it funny, I’m a Mercedes guy but I find myself subscribed to countless BMW youtubers and thoroughly enjoy BMW content. Not a whole lot of people make Mercedes content besides LegitStreetCars and couple others. Own a W203.
I love old Mercedes too. They just don't drive the same as a BMW though!
livey oone I’d like to but I enjoy the reliability of my Merc more. Maybe in a couple years. The 328 N52s are fairly reliable but I’d probably get a 335/535. Go big or go home 😂
BIMMER ZEIT Yep, I’ve test driven a couple of E90s and E60s and the steering feel and road connection is like no other. Mercedes is more comfortable to me, though.
livey oone I’ve got a 2007 C230 and it’s relatively uncomplicated to maintain and operate. Yeah, the newer Benz systems are a little complex
livey oone No arguing that. The M272 V6 motor in my car is pretty good, well refined, smooth and sounds good, but you can’t beat the perfect balance of an I6
I have Cquartz 2 coats on my G70 and its amazing.. Im using Mr Fit for headlights and windshield. May also use this in 3 months to boast my Cquartz
Keep It Real hey thanks for commenting and letting us know what you use! How does it compare to cquartz?
@@BIMMERZEITT so far it's good. Shine/wet look is about the same. I will know in afew months if it last past 9 months. If it does I will order again.
@@scorpiojuan1966 so does it last as cquartz? Were there any differences?
@@m7own so far is holding up... may need a touch up in Feb
The difference is clearer than 7up
I got one of the cheap coatings too. I only used it on the roof last year and winter crept in. I'm in the process of polishing so I'll throw a coat or two on after now that I know it won't hurt 😂 Does it compare to the expensive ones? No idea but it's easy to use and wipe off so that's fine with me as I don't have a lot of free time 👍
I look forward to trying this out on the paint work next!
How long does it last for
Can apply on side heated mirrors?
Love the content, loves bmw's. I need to fix the foggyness on my 2006 bmw x5. i love that car
FSmith503 thanks man. You should try one of the headlight restoration kits!
@A OK just watched it! Seems too good to be true lol. Thanks for sharing bro, now I need another yellow headlight to try that on!
Which grit sandpaper did you use ?
Good stuff! Keep up the good work!
A automotive clear is the best thing for headlights the cheap spray clear is not good but a real auto clear is I have done a lot of headlights and taillights with clear and even have tinted lights with clear
And ho long it last this coating ?
You did not do follow up video how are you satisfied with the coating after few months!!!
Hi BIMMER ZEIT - What did you use on the headlamp when you started the process with the drill?
What sort of fitting were you using on the drill, sponge?
And what were you applying?
Were you brushing out roughness in the lense or what was the process all about?
Charl Daniels I apologize I should have made that more clear. I used a headlight restoration kit (Mothers brand or 3M are good) to polish the deteriorated headlight lens first. Then applied a ceramic coating to hopefully provided long term protection so it doesn’t fade and yellow again!
@@BIMMERZEITT Thanks for the update man. Would this process also help with the scratches on the headlight?
How long did it last?
Nice one buddy!!
Who said anything about this product being a headlight restore kit?
can plz some help me from to order 9h Mr fix auto ceramic coating real one not fake i will really appreciate from bottom of my heart
How many BMWs do you have?
Alan Here five!
need wait 5 min? so long?
yeah whatever the instructions said for the time to flash. I'm guessing the less solvents it uses the longer the flash time, and more user friendly for home use. Shorter flash time is for professional use or those with a lot of experience.
@@BIMMERZEITT it's true
Can't imagine why people think BMW drivers are doosh bags??
That's the fake MrFix.
Harvz B how can you tell?
BIMMER ZEIT MrFix 9H is the fake one, 9H MrFix the real one and thicker liquid. The fake one is flammable.
@@Harvz78 this is true
Yeah it is the fake one with a very low concentration. That might result in unwanted defects in the plastic and on paint. It might be best to polish it off and apply the real one. Bonus tip; the fake one is water-like and flammable, the real one is certainly not.
This holds up around 3 months w decent prep and curing
Milcho Markov thanks for the info! 3 months not bad, better than wax!
@@BIMMERZEITT not worth the headache. prep for a small vehicle is up to 40h. then twice that for curing indoors. not something you'd want to repeat in 3m. just use the good stuff right away
Milcho Markov what is “the good stuff”?
@@BIMMERZEITT haha, the expensive stuff. cquartz is good, i'd go with it. chinese stuff is just not worth all the effort you have to go through.
Veteran 9h
Your mrfix is not a legit one you bought a fake one
Wd40 does the samething!
