    I’m so thankful I found Organic Valley! I love your videos and the videos of other Organic Valley farmers. After seeing the horrific videos of how factory farm animals are treated, i get sick just thinking about it. I have switched to humanely raised food, and finding cheese and milk have been the hardest. Since I’ve watched this video, no lie I have bought 6 bags of cheese. I hope that all Farmers who are good to their animals like you, will end up reaping many, many, benefits. Many thanks, Tonya

    I love that you're raising your calves on your moms. It's so sad that it is such a rarity for organic dairy farms.

    Thank you, I love Organic Valley milk! I am new to discovering it and it is soooo delicious. It tastes so fresh, and I can understand why after seeing the beautiful grasses the cows are feeding on. I loved seeing you and your Son taking such awesome care of the cows. Thank you!

    It is wonderful the calves can bond with their mamas and are out in the pasture free to roam. I stopped buying dairy products because of all the horror videos I had seen of the treatment of cows and calves in the dairy industry. Finally I won’t have to feel guilty consuming dairy products! Just purchased Organic Valley fat free milk and omg soooo good! You are an excellent role model to your son to respect and properly care for the animals that are your livelihood.

    Sir, you just convinced me that paying a few cents more for 'organic dairy' actually does make a difference. I'll be making organic dairy choices from now forward. Thank you.

    Never thought I would pay 5 bucks for a 1/2 gallon of milk but I got hooked on Grass Fed Milk, it tastes so different. Plus I love the way you treat the animals, Great video. I hope more will try grass fed milk, if u do you know your hooked. Great dimples and sure your junior will take care of the farm later on.

    Loved.watching this video.love the fact that the babies stay with mom.
    Love the fact of seeing the red clover. I miss.seeing that in the field. Use to see it all the time.as a child going for the "Sunday drives" 😁 . Red clover is very good for treating pain and has.so many other nutritonal factors. So many "weeds" are not actually weeds but Gods nutrition. Of course if you ever.get any.. mame sure it is never sprayed and that it is organic.
    Thanks Jordan and your family for keeping such high standards for yourselves, the farm,.animals and for the community

    I like the idea of organic farming, let the cows mate naturally etc. The only trouble is the produce is expensive,in the UK anyway.

    Wonderful story of your Family/Farm. How long are the calves kept w/their mothers before they are weaned so that the cow can rejoin in the group milk production ?

    • @organicvalley
      @organicvalley  2 года назад

      Hello! Some Organic Valley farmers will leave the newborn calves with the mother or a "nurse cow" to nurse naturally for a few days or weeks before starting bottle feedings. The time periods will vary based on the farm and, to some extent, the time of year and region of the farm.

    Hi. We are looking to do something similar in Scotland. Obviously, there are many crop growing differences between the states and Scotland, however, I was wondering from a cow management point of view, are there any potential pitfalls to avoid by suckling the calves on the cows?

    love this way which you are doing, may I know how many liters of milk/cow for one lactation and how many lactations can you get for one cow life? many thanks

    • @organicvalley
      @organicvalley  2 года назад

      Hello! This information would vary based on the cow. Some cows produce more milk than others, and this can be affected by things like feed, stress, and breed.

    What kind of milk production do you get

    • @organicvalley
      @organicvalley  3 года назад +2

      Hello! Milk production can vary throughout the year. Additionally, our farmers do not give the cows artificial hormones to 'push' the animals to produce more milk. This helps us keep the cows happy and healthy.

    What I cannot get behind is, if your cows really are ethically raised all around, why don't you have any of the common animal welfare certifications like GAP or AWA? It's nice to see these cows in the video, but I want to feel confident that ALL of Organic Valley's cows are treated this way - in a way that is consistent and that can be vetted by a third party.
    You have non-GMO and Organic stamps on your products. Why wouldn't you add an animal welfare stamp?
