    I grew up from age 5 up on a farm. We had cows chickens and pigs and my step dad took part in killing the cows and pigs. I never understood how he could do that and keeps saying that they all had personalities and were all different. I wanted to stop eating all meat at about 7 or 8 because I witnessed one of the killings and couldn't handle it but was forced to keep eating it. I again in my early teens said I wanted to stop eating meat and I wanted to be vegan but my step dad said fine but you will no longer eat any of my food and you will have to buy everything yourself because I will not support you. @@Lewdogg123 don't you think that most large-scale factory farms have sufficient funds to be used differently? (Govt subsidies) Also, the butcher doesn't "produce" the meat, and likewise the oat milk maker doesn't necessarily have to grow the oats themselves. I think he did mention that they were meant to be growing veggies as well. The point is that if you're a farmer, you don't have to contribute to the cruelty. As veganism becomes more popular the demand for plant based products will grow, and thus the agricultural industry will have to adapt. It isn't sustainable to be using most land/plants to feed livestock for human consumption, when we can be directly feeding that to humans. There's no need for exploiting animals.

    • @Lewdogg123
      @Lewdogg123 4 года назад +1

      @@shellyfiguereo6016 what is your academic background to be saying that it isn’t sustainable? Sustainability has more factors to it than just carbon production. They don’t even differentiate between methane and CO2, like seriously. Soil health, soil structure, microbes, butterflies, less tractor work and more more reasons as to why we need grass and animals to help us farm sustainably. I also don’t think you know anything about subsidies so your not in a place to comment on them, especially now the have changed them to an environmental scheme. Most farms in the uk are not factory farms. And nobody said butchers produce the meat, they sell it. What kind of crappy comparison was that? This man has gone from producing food on the farm to juicing oats in his shed he ain’t even producing- sUstAinABle 🥴

      Hello again. Hoping you are able to reclaim your health soon but in the meanwhile I am very against promoting a fasting diet to children. There is nothing worse. Children need animal foods to grow and develop optimally and have since the beginning of time. It is incredibly bizarre to me people can listen to sources like "nutrition facts" run by someone who looks like he has incredibly poor health himself and get brainwashed into thinking this is ok for CHILDREN. It deeply saddens me to think there are children in the western world looking developmentally like they're from the 3rd world with malformed jaws and blackened eyes. I understand you think this is a healthful diet for yourself, but if there is any doubt in your mind please pause before promoting this for children. All of the authentic vegan children I'm aware of do not look good compared to a standard omnivore child and that should be a red flag to anyone thinking clearly. Take care

All these vegans clapping and crying say this is the way forward is laughable, aye we will stop all this local food production for 6 bottle of oats juiced on site a week. I’m ashamed this is going on in the uk.

    I dated a cattle farmer for several months. He was kind and loved animals, ate mostly vegetarian and was open to veganism as well. It was 100% the cost of changing that prevented him from converting the family farm into a farm for plants. He even told me that all of the ranchers in that area were either vegetarian or would trade meat with each other because they didn't want to eat the animals they were caring for. Animal consumption is not in our nature. We want to love animals, not murder them.

    • @spatrk6634
      @spatrk6634 3 года назад

      its in our nature to kill animals for food.
      whats not natural is factory farming..
      humans get attached to even inanimate objects if not careful.
      ofcourse you will love your farm animals you care for every day whole day.
      only difference between farm animal and pet is that you mercy kill your pet after it accumulates diseases from old age and it doesnt live healthy life anymore.
      while you mercy kill the farm animal before it starts getting diseases, and to maximize profit.
      if you look at "blood warriors" in africa.
      they care and value their cattle so much, that they almost never kill them for food.
      they only cut their throat a bit to gather their blood without killing the animal, and then milk them.
      they are surviving of blood and milk of their cattle for centuries
      if you live in first world country ofcourse you will assume its not in our nature to eat animals.
      because you can go to grocery store and buy a banana that was grown across the world and shipped to you.

So so much respect to you for bringing this alternative story to light. You really are an inspiration and proud to be part of the movement and on my way to being one of veganism's footsoldiers.

And when they’re burning the cow’s blood and bones the smell is insane, it smells like death, that’s the only way I can describe it.
    I remember sometimes hearing cows crying in the transport trucks and thinking how could anyone support this, let alone do this for a living. But hearing things from his perspective I understand how hard it must be to escape that when farming is your whole life. Someday the world will change, it has too

      Why do vegans hate farmers when they are in animal agriculture. They say that they are not farmers but rapists and murders. But vegans call them farmers when they change their methods. To me they are gardeners.

      Not a farmer when he’s not producing anything, man is a sanctuary owner relying on the vegan society to donate. Yard a state, tackle a state, straw and hay a state, no wonder 17 eat 10 bales a week. He doesn’t even produce the oats he’s making into milk and veg growth in now stopped by COVID apparently... he sounds like a man that got depressed after his dad died and a vegan Dutch lady came and gave him a blowy and she converted him in to a vegan ‘farmer’. This is an example of how not to produce anything.

You just comment that’s the way when vegan is mentioned, veganic farming isn’t even a thing, you have just taken mulching and tried to claim it veganic farming. Farmers produce food from the ground, this guy squashed oats in a shed, and doesn’t even grow the oats- please tell me which part of this system is the future?

      I think the main point is that we can transition away from raising and slaughtering animals and grow much needed fruit, grain, pulses, beans, and vegetables instead of importing them.
