- LEGO's second attempt at a Star Wars ARC-170 Starfighter is based off The Clone Wars. The ARC-170 saw improvements all over including the Minifigures: Kit Fisto, Captain Jag, & The Clone Pilot! 8088 originally sold for $60 but can no longer be found for under $200 NEW unless you're lucky! Will LEGO remake this set in the future? Probably but for now it's the best we have.

If LEGO ever remakes this, I hope they include three clone pilots because it always bothered me when I didn’t have enough of the pilots to fill all the seats. The fact that two at-at pilots were included in the new at-at gives me hope.
Amazing brain, but wishful thinking. We all know LEGO doesn’t listen or include 3 much less 2 clones in any good set

My dad got this for me when I was really young, I remember him helping my build it and then telling my mom I did it all on my own 😂 god I miss when life was that easy :( thanks for the nostalgic trip!
3:33 Bro, you got the wrong kit fisto, the harder plastic version came in a magnet set in 2013, and all the kit fistos that came in actual sets were the softer and rubbery plastic. I know because my kit fisto from the same set got absolutely destroyed, and when I ordered a replacement, it was also the same rubbery plastic. Great video though!
Yeah I've got ARC 170, and my Kit Fisto has it's face with almost no print left on it
I was just about to say the same thing. My Kit Fisto face is so worn out. Hardly stays on the figure, and its mostly just green.. no color left. Just shows that the set and characters were well loved and played with by childhood me.
Plus that head printing especially the eyes looks very strange compared to the real thing, looks almost like a bootleg

When you talk about the ARC-170 having droopy wings, that’s actually accurate in canon because the wings are slanted

I had this set when I was like 7. I was flying it around when my hand slipped and it proceeded to crash into the floor into a million pieces. 10/10 would drop again
You know what’s weird they marketed it as a Clone wars set and not revenge of the sith
But the pilots don’t have those weird cartoon faces of the usual Clone Wars sets.
That’s why it’s weird
While this wasn't my first Lego set, it was the one that sparked my interest in Legos and started my Lego collection. It's always been special to me and is still one of my favorites 10 years later
I find it interesting that the Clone Pilots don't have the weird Clone Wars faces all of the other Clone Wars figures have...
This was based on the episode 3 arc fighter, not from the clone wars series. So the set doesn’t have clone wars styled faces. Hope this answers your question

If you watch the clone wars episode arc troopers S:3 E:2 about 4 minutes in when they begin the space battle you can see that the arc-170s wings actually have a slight bend down so the droopy wings aren’t that bad

Nice, it’s a cool set, it was older than I expected, it was a pretty cool design, I hope we’ll get a remake any time soon, it is seen quite a couple times in episode three and in the clone wars, for instance there’s been way more anakin’s starfighters and they’re seen only a little more than the arc 170’s

I remember having this set. It’s so much fun
I actually have the same set and have owned it since 2010, my Kit Fisto head was either part of a more rubbery run of manufacturing or they ended up just doing the same thing as the 2007 one because the printing on mine is flaking now that I look at it, not so made to last as they may have thought
He had the wrong kit fisto, that version in the video was from a magnet released a few years later. The old fisto as he called it was in the arc-170, jedi starfighter and palpatine’s arrest while the shiny fisto was only in the magnet set
I finally found the instructions for this set so I might rebuild this

Was going through some old sets when i began redisplaying my models and this was one of two models that survived to a point where i felt happy displaying it. Made a stand and its displayed with the S foils open properly
A remake would be nice,it’s been a long time since they made this ship so it would be cool to see this set in modern LEGO aspect

Can you imagine one of those pilot helmets with a dual moulded visor? It would look sooooo much better and would mean they don’t need to make a new clone head with a printed visor

My Kit Fisto from this set is the “older” style you mention and the print has rubbed off. I never had another kit so it’s definitely not been changed out. - maybe it was a regional thing.
Was about to comment the same. I bought mine in germany and it's the first version with the very rubbery headpiece.
My mom was supposed to order this exact one because it was the last. Kit fisto was my favorite Jedi and the arc 170 was my favorite ship. I got stuck with a battle pack as my main birthday present because we couldn’t find anything else. I hope your happy

Actually Ryan that face for the clones pilots was og used for x wing/ rebel pilots, that’s why they have a chin strap, LEGO reused that face. Just like they reused Obi Wan’s Mustafar torso print.

I don't want to be mean, but I don't just get why people break the set by accident and then just leave it. I mean when I broke my Sith Infiltrator by dropping it the first thing was to rebuild it.

If I recall correctly, the ARC-170 does have a slight drop in the angle of each main “wing.” Not sure if it was intentional, but the drop of the wings is technically accurate

I remember the day I brought this set home. I thought it was a fun build and it has a great base to free build with, I remember making several different ships with these parts. its a shame its been 10 years since we have gotten this.
I remember going to toys r us with my mom when I was 5, I got this set and my brother got the 2010 atat walker. This was and still is my favorite lego Star Wars set!

This is a set that is in so need of a new version. I, for one, will forego a new Luke’s Landspeeder for a few years for a new one of these!
Isn’t related to the video but you have convinced me to get the ucs gunship that should be out around sometime in 2021, and will be the only ucs set I would have.The only thing that would turn me off is if it doesn’t have more than the two minifigues that the set most likely will have is Jedi bob and p2 Cody.
I got this used on Bricklink and he said it was 100% complete but it was missing a lot of prices. I replaced most cos they were small prices I had spares of. They more important pieces were the back knob but the set functions without it. Also some pieces were prints when they should have been stickers. Others were the wrong color or didn’t belong there.
He probably would’ve compensated but I didn’t bother. Don’t say it’s 100% if it’s not 100%. I haven’t bought used since. But I might buy the hyperdrive ring that you mentions.
Ah, 8088. I have one on my dresser, fully assembled except for a single burgundy hinge collective, where the hinge-sections on both elements comprising the hinge broke, and so I will need to replace those elements. My own aside, great set apart from the poor location of the flick fire missiles, they always hit the nose when they are fired while the ship is level.
I just saw Mandalorian battlepacks go on clearance. I bought 20. Putting them in a box for ten years from now

The kit fisto-head in this set is rubbery, right? Mine is anyway but the version from Palpatine's arrest has a head out of hard plastic
Heres my little mini review/hopes for a remake:
Build: Looks great. Very faithful to the design in the films and TCW. If lego can find a way to make it without the rubber bands and the flick fire tho, it would be a huge improvement. Also half smooth/half stud 2x2's in the cockpits would go a long way into making sure the figs don't get stuck. Also stud shooters are kind of a given, but i think the trans missles would look really good here. I hope lego ops for those instead.
Figs:
-R4 is an astromech. Nothing much to say there.
-The clone pilots are nice. Would possibly like to see the visor in trans orange over the helmet instead of printed so you could put the new clone heads underneath but other than that just some updated printing would be nice.
-While I love the fact they replaced the rubber for a more sturdy material, I think Kit Fisto DESPERATELY needs a new head. The mold itself is great, but the face is just so lifeless and inaccurate. He definitely needs a new face print for head mold for his tentacles that can go over a minifig head like in The Complete Saga
Price: $60 is a bit much for a 360 peice set, but it looks fairly big for everything included. If lego could drop the price down to 50 or make a few changes to make it worth 60, it would be perfect.
