The ironic thing about Robby teaching Cobra Kai the Miyagi-Do techniques is that it FORCED Daniel and Johnny to admit that one style (and one way of thinking) isn't enough. He did them a favor by forcing them to become more versatile and strong.
Tanner Buchanan is such an amazing actor, the way he has evolved through the series and ended up delivering this INCREDIBLE performance, specially in the last episode and that last scene with Johnny, you can really feel the exhaustion, pain and regret the character is into. Definitely Tanner and Robby are one of the gems of this season.
Interesting tidbit - the 3 points Robby scores on Kenny are the Quicksilver method: > If an opponent can't stand, he cannot fight (the leg) > If an opponent can't breathe, he cannot fight (the ribs) > If an opponent can't see, he cannot fight (the bloody nose)
Those are the cruel teachings of mister Terry Silver, the most venomous mind of a sensei, in the Cobra Kai Dojo. That guy are more terrifying, than John Kreese, in my own personal perception, he was some kind of a karate psycho maniac.
Robby is the most complex character in this show. So unpredictable. You never know what is going to happen with him. Definitely one of the best characters.
In a way, Robby’s arc in season 4 is a reflection of his own fall from grace and what Danny did in seasons 2 and 3. Robby joins Cobra Kai because Danny and Johnny both failed him as mentors. Johnny failed as a father, not being there in his life. When he starts learning Miyagi-Do, Danny becomes a sort of father figure to him, something he never had with Johnny. But then when he’s sent to juvenile, he blames Danny for it and grows to resent him. So he turns to Kreese and Cobra Kai for guidance. When Kenny shows up and asks for Robby’s help learning karate, Robby sees a chance to help this kid, to be the mentor that he never had. But he makes mistakes and leads Kenny down the wrong path, until Kenny abandons him and becomes a Cobra Kai. Just like Robby did. In the finale, not only did he realize his mistakes, but I think he also realized that he repeated the same mistakes as Johnny and Danny. He failed his student, just like his mentors failed him. This makes Robby more sympathetic towards Johnny, as seen at the end of season 4. It’s possible that he also might understand Danny more, and be willing to forgive him and rejoin Miyagi-Do.
I don’t think Daniel failed him. Daniel certainly did the right thing. If he didn’t turn himself in he would’ve been caught eventually and gotten a worse sentence. Robby was just blinded by pure hatred to see past that and realize he was just trying to help.
@@AlexandraM689 now that I think about it, that would make more sense for his character, and it would be nice to see him take a different direction instead of retreading the past.
Robby is basically Zuko on this show. Has daddy issue, confused what he's supposed to do, joining a wrong team because of pressure, finally realized he was wrong.
Robby has by far the most interesting character arc, I’m so excited to see how Robby develops further in Season 5. I can’t wait to how Johnny and Robby’s father and son relationship unfolds because from watching the scene between them, Robby needs his father and he is owning up to his mistakes after constantly pushing Johnny away due to the influence of not needing Johnny, working with Daniel and joining Miyagi- Do to spite Johnny, Kreese swaying and corrupting Robby. The last scene in the Season 4 finale between Johnny and Robby was so emotional, I’m so glad Johnny and Robby reconciled. Kenny’s character arc in season 4 surpassed all expectations from going from someone that was bullied to being a very strong skilled fighter, he may have lost his way by being corrupted by Silver but I’m hopeful Robby will help Kenny see he is not this person that Cobra Kai has carved out for him.
I really hope the writers allow Robby to keep on healing with his father and finally apologize to Miguel for what he did to him. Also I'd love to see Robby with Chozen, having a moment like Edmund and Eustace in that chapter from the Chronicles of Narnia where thanks to Edmund telling him the story about his past mistakes and redemption, Eustace finally sees himself for who he is, accept what he's done and understand he can change, that he's not too far gone. Robby's character development is so well written and a treat to watch, I know some people hated him but my heart always broke for him, he's the one who ended up losing everything in the first 3 seasons (I know that his choices were not the best, but he had a very difficult life and was full of anger and frustration, him making a horrible mistake was bound to happen, but he's not evil or bad, he's actually a good guy who just need the right direction to forgiveness and peace, but he ended up being a collectionable card for the 3 Senseis and felt like nobody really cared about him) I loved that the writers allowed him to spiral almost all the way down so he could bounce back but in his own terms and conditions, this path also allowed him to become one of the best skilled fighter among the young characters. I'm so excited to see what's next for him in the next season, until now, the writing doesn't disappoint. And thank you for your videos!! I just discovered your channel and your analysis are very well thought and put together. Keep up with the good work!!! 👍🏻
I agree with you except the part when he has to apologize first to Miguel, rewatch the show Miguel literally pushed Robby to do what he did to him he didn’t even want to fight even though he was angry and betrayed he just wanted a talk.
Another thing Robbie was right about was when he said "Everyone think's that their way is the only way. Miyagi Do, Eagle Fang, or Cobra Kai." It was seen quite evident when Daniel and Johnny were trying to train Miyagi Fang together. But it was also this very statement that allowed Hawk and Sam become better fighters and re-merge Miyagi Fang by being allowed to accept and combine both styles, much like Robbie's style of using both Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do.
I really like Robby’s arc in season 4 and I think that he and Miguel are the key for anyone to find balance in the show. Mainly for Kenny’s character. The way that Robby & Miguel have been like two sides of the same coin throughout the series is amazing and now I think that seasons 5 and beyond can use it to further other character’s developments. With Kenny for example, I see his development so far VERY similar to Miguel’s. And the way Robby realized that he became like his dad & Daniel in failing his own student as a mentor, I believe Miguel can see how he can use his journey to show Kenny how far off track he’s going
One thing that’s really bugging me. Obviously when Johnny said “I love you too robby” that was heartbreaking for Miguel and I did feel really sorry for him. BUT people hated on Robby since season 1 and didn’t care about the fact that Johnny neglected him and he had 16 YEARS of trauma from that. The number of people I’ve seen saying it’s “no excuse” or “irrelevant” and who have downplayed Robby’s emotional trauma is crazy. Now that Miguel, who’s been Johnny’s priority, a lot of the time at the expense of Robby, has had a taste of being rejected by a father figure, everybody feels really sorry for him and suddenly realises how terrible rejection is. People weren’t sad when the actual child got replaced and neglected, but now they’re sad when the replacement child gets a taste of it. I don’t get it, I don’t get this fandom sometimes 😂
People hate him because of Miguel, which is stupid, IMO. First off, they're supposed to be kids. We'd love to see them get along, not fight, but I get its a show and there needs to be rivals. There's no reason to hate Robby, just because of Miguel. Miguel is my second favorite character (after Johnny) and I don't dislike Robby at all. He's a good kid.
In Robbie defense for rejecting Sam proposal, she was asking him to be the bridge for her family with no regard for his well-being. It was a selfish ask.
@@danemarais7398 Yet there are those who prefer him in Eagle Fang instead, perhaps because he betrayed Daniel's trust in teaching Miyagi Do to another dojo without permission. Isn't it possible that Johnny might coolly make that same point to Robby, since Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang were once one?
there is another signal that you missed: When bowing, Robby always start with his hands open, like he learned from Daniel, before he closes his hands in the Cobra Kai way, as if his core was Miyagi Do, and the Cobra Kai influence is but a cover he is currently using, not his true self
I always find robby the strongest person in cobra kai. Since every sensei consider robby to have the most potential. Plus robby is the only character who was trained by Daniel, Kreese, terry now I think johnny going to train him. S6 will be chozen. Robby = the most potential Miguel= the hard worker
@@anshsinha6985 nah.. miguel with a month worth of training beat the shit out of kyler and his lackies. Robby with his miyagi do training failed to subdue the chris brown looking guy and the guy with a funny stache. Miguel was a natural is a natural born fighter, Demitri said it himself, no one has ever beaten miguel in a fight.
Robby is definitely my favorite character. He is the most genuinely, truly good person in the ensemble, he knows right from wrong, even when he tries to go dark his innate altruism manages to shine through with how he treats Kenny and doesn't hurt Eli. When we first meet him, he is a delinquent thief, the only people he's ever known are bad, neglectful people who don't have his best interests at heart. But the moment someone treats him with genuine compassion, taking care of him, he turns around immediately. And even though his relationship with Daniel was strained, I think part of his story in Season 5 will be realizing that Daniel did what he did because he didn't want Robby's life to be over. Tanner is a stellar actor with some of the best karate moves in the cast, and the writers have done a great job with the character so far. I can't wait for him to complete his redemption arc in S5!
Robby has the most interesting arc because unlike the rest of these characters he didn’t have strong roots to began with. He always says he wants nothing to do with his father but in times of trouble that’s who he goes to. The scene with Miguel and Johnny after prom gives us a glimpse on how Robby felt for the last three seasons. I’m predicting that he will help Miguel with a fight.
Well like most children who have unnatentive fathers, they take authority for themselves and learn too quickly about life before maturity and experience catch up with them. Robby, being the son of a deadbeat and a drug addict, was forced into a scenario where he was playing the active role of providing for himself, and relying on himself. In a way thats also his worst downfall considering it makes him less likely to follow one path for long and take things into his own hands once he feels the authorities around him are no longer capable, even when its a misunderstanding. Which is where the lack of maturity comes into play. He realizes this pattern after seeing his own anger in Kenny, which he trained. Kenny was a reflection of his fear and insecurity being masked and overtaken by anger and aggression. At his core hes still just an insecure child that wants his fathers love and attention, masking as someone capable.
@@yderga8707 agree he raised himself. He tried helping another kid find his path only to realize he hadn’t figured it out. Now that both parents are doing better that could help him.
Balance is the key for Robby, always has been. He is the most skilled fighter amongst the kids but when his anger consumes him he always takes L’s. The school fight, he is enraged and loses focus. The fight with his dad, he is enraged and loses focus. In the tournament, he is both enraged and uncertain, and loses focus. On the other hand, when he is focused and balanced he is a beast, he easily defeats all of Cobra Kai in episode 1 of season 4, and he and Sam easily beat hawk and his thugs in the mall fight during season 2.
I've watched season 4 like 5 or 6 times already and the scene with Robby and Johnny at the old dojo always brings tears in my eyes. That's one of the best scenes i've ever seen.
I went back and started re-watching the series. Robby is such a misunderstood character. People that get annoyed with how angry he is, or how he treats Johnny, really need to re-watch the series, and pay closer attention to WHY he's the way he is. And realized what a screwed up childhood he had. Both his parents (yes, Johnny) were terrible to him. Absolutely terrible. Obviously, we get to see that Johnny has changed, but that doesn't make up for him neglecting him all those years and leaving Robby to fend for himself. You damn right he's pissed about it and should be! And its just not easy for him to just trust Johnny like that, when he's let him down all his life. He's had the saddest story of all. There's a reason why he mistrusts people so fast. Like why he stopped trusting Daniel, thinking he screwed him over, because everyone has screwed him over in his life. I like Robby. I like Miguel too. Just because someone likes Miguel, you don't have to dislike Robby. He's actually a good kid and good character. I want to see Miguel and Robby get along, not fight. He didn't have a loving family like Miguel. Robby had NOTHING. Literally. The character doesn't deserve so much hate. I don't get it either why so many hate his character so much.
@@melissa078 I thought he was annoying in season 1, but re-watching it, my stance is different. I feel really sorry for him. Luckily he didn't join a gang or do worse stuff. His mom is a freakin' joke. And Robby was really honorable in the tournament. He actually tried to help Miguel up and be a good sport. I don't want Miguel and Robby fighting. Sam and Tory fighting. And especially Johnny and Daniel fighting. I want them all to get along and be one big happy family. That get together and take down evil Silver. Silver is evil. Tory and Robby are 'troubled' not evil. Tory has definitely gone way too far in the past. Robby has just made some bad mistakes, and had some bad luck.
@@godfather4377 yeah exactly. And the thing is people brutally condemn Robby for an accident that wasn’t even entirely his fault while overlooking Miguel’s part in it. Robby absolutely needs to apologise but Miguel started their rivalry and escalated things and also needs to apologise. Hopefully they’ll bury the hatchet this season ! Same for Tory and Sam!
I think that Kenny might heal him, and maybe through seeing in a mirror what Cobra Kai under Kreese/Silver does to people, he might realise that his dad's not so bad, just misguided and that Kenny also isn't bad, but became warped due to the lessons taught by Silver and Kreese. I think another all-valley will occur maybe in season 6 if we get that far, with him against Miguel, which will in my opinion end in either a draw or a Miguel victory but hopefully they will both be happy. I see Robby also stopping Johnny from finding Miguel and Johnny being torn between Carmen and Miguel and repairing his relationship with Robby. But I'm excited regardless.
@@angelganon8213 yes but they’re is no possible way to make up for what he’s done it’s impossible to go back to how it was and if they did it would make all things that happened in the show pointless , they need a rival to the main character or the show won’t work
Robbie vs Eli is a fight I barely get bored of watching on repeat, but, I did like how Eli bowed to him after the crowd cheered as if silently letting Robbie know that he let go of that supposed hatred from when they jumped him. As well as it's them respecting both their martial arts even though they've switched sides.
If Miguel and Robby were to spar one more time I believe it’ll end in a draw. But I agree season 5 Johnny will learn how to be a dad and dad like figure to Robby and Miguel. Season 5 will be aboutJohnny finding balance
@@pantera141000 what the hell are you smoking? Miguel has trained longer than anyone in the show AND he also learned Miyagi-Do like Robby. Logically, Miguel should beat Robby. It’s up to the writer if they want to get stupid and let Robby win. Miguel beat Hawk, and Hawk (barely) beat Robby. So stop dickriding Robby.
@@ran1743 A lazy argument; I can say the exact same thing: A “balanced” Miguel could beat Robby. Stop fanboying Robby. A better point of view would be to consider them both equals but speaking objectively, Miguel SHOULD win.
Once Miguel is found and brought home, I honestly think he will rejoin Miyagi-do. Tory will also join Miyagi-do. Samantha is not going to be having any of this, and will join Eagle Fang, though she will not be ex-communicated from Miyagi-do for obvious reasons. By the end of season 5, she will come to realize this was for the best, and that SHE needs to move forward, and stop holding grudges. This will happen because of Chozen, who is as close to being Miyagi as anyone could hope to be. By the end of Season 5, a new threat will have made itself known. Mike Barnes. This is why Chozen is so important to Miyagi-do. Once Daniel sees Mike Barnes again, the initial fear he had will kick in, not for him, but for his students. Kyler and Kenny will become new Mike Barnes drones, neither being able to come back to redemption. But then, as the story progresses, neither Johnny nor Daniel will honor their "no compete" agreement with Silvers, because Tory tells them both about the back-door deal with the ref, which comes out as true, and the ref is barred from any and all competitions in any form. Silvers is also exposed for his brutal assault on Stingray, Cobra kai loses at the All Valley, and Silvers pulls out of Cobra Kai. John Kreese dies, leaving an indemnity clause that reverts Cobra Kai to Johnny Lawrence's ownership once more. Cobra Kai and Miyagi-do are no longer competing dojos, and while the Miyagi-do Dojo still stands, Johnny Lawrence begins instructing all of the Miyagi-do, Eagle Fang, and Cobra-Kai's, minus a few of them who are corrupted to their cores, including Kyler and Kenny. Kenny heads off to Juvy because his anger gets too deep a hold on him, and like his brother, seems like he's just more of a bad seed, now. Robby laments this fact, and stresses how it shouldn't have happened, but despite Robby's best efforts, it was going to happen. We also learn that Silvers' entire life was built upon a house of cards, and at the end of it, his entire life comes crashing around him, and bringing him to ruin. At some point, Mike Barnes is also going to show his ass, only to have it be kicked into his shoulder blades by Chozen. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. His loss to Chozen shakes him so deeply to his core, he drops out of the karate scene again, and slinks off into the shadows.
@@willg8414 Because Chozen holds miyagi do very very sacred and when he finds out that Robby taught it to Cobra Kai he's going to be extremely pissed off about it.
Demetri didn’t do anything bad to Robby but he didn’t do anything helpful either. He didn’t email nor visit Robby. I think their fight at the All Valley spoke volumes in terms of their relationship. It was respectful and Robby didn’t display any anger in his facial expressions when looking at Demetri.
@@carrie82 I mean I wouldn’t blame Demetri for not emailing Robby since he did severely injure a good friend of his (Miguel obviously) and the two didn’t really talk to each other outside of miagi do to much either. What I meant by talking to each other in my original comment is like a scene where he apologizes to Demetri or something like that. It could have been a good scene to show how Robby has a little regret for betraying miagi do kinda like when you see hawks face after he breaks demitris arm or when Jonny talked to him about joining eagle fang in season 3 you can see some retreat on his face. I just wanted a scene like that for Robby and Demetri would have been the perfect character to do that since like I said he did nothing wrong to Robby.
@@hckinwoofer3435 I hope they get a chance to speak to each other in S5. I would have liked it if Demetri did email Robby when Robby was in juvie. They were all fighting brutally including Demetri who threw Hawk into a glass case. They were all wrong that day so an email would not have been out of character. In S4 I think the creators didn’t have them interact because Demetri played a huge role in helping Hawk, and they brought it back to having Daniel’s words from S4 and past seasons get through to Robby which was actually very touching. Robby looked back at Daniel at the mini mart and definitely had a look of regret when Daniel walked away from him at the All Valley. Seeing Anthony in the locker room further showed Robby questioning everything. Since Robby had a meaningful history with the LaRusso’s I thought those moments were so well done and really made an impact on Robby. Until the end he didn’t feel sorry about what he was doing so I don’t think he would have shown regret to Demetri just like he didn’t react when Nathaniel call him a traitor.
I think Robby will be a key factor to the upcoming battle between Kreese and Silver. After all, if our speculations are correct, we are talking about Kreese's grandson
I was so happy to see Johnny and Robby embracing at the end of the newest season. I really hope that they dont undo their relationship or progress of relationships by just undoing it like they used to in earlier seasons. If anyone deserves to have a good future and some peace of mind, it's Robby and Johnny. I seriously want Robby to become Johnny's 'chosen one', or at least they mend their relationship. I want the best for both of them cause im so invested in both of their stories. I relate to Robby's father figure issues, and relate to Johnny's struggles in dealing with the past and overcoming it.
Honestly I think Robbie growing closer to Johnny while helping him find Miguel will be his next character arc. That finding out that while his father did mess up with the both of them he does really care about his son and his pupil/future son( if johnny does end up with Miguel's mom totally see that happening.) I could also see him and Miguel becoming closer because of the truth of Miguel's dad being an even worse father/person than Johnny could ever be and Miguel probably needing someone who isn't Johnny who can somewhat sympathize and understand those feelings. Great vid as always my friend!
I don't see any failure made by Daniel, it was more like plot contrivances. Robby was a paragon of Miyagi-do philosophy in season 1 and 2. He was right to try to intervene between Tory and Sam, and he defended himself against Miguel. Then in a moment of incredible bad luck he accidentally hurts Miguel badly and faces the worst kind of punishment. Sam also defends herself against Tory but starts to become aggressive in season 3 for no reason, contrary to her training with her father. Robby is found and Daniel calls the cops on him without giving Robby the chance to turn himself in. That is weird because he literally asks Robby to turn himself in but gets interrupted by the police that he called himself. Why did he do that? Oh yeah because we need Robby to turn against him, to turn against the mentor that he needed the most. In Miyagi-do he found balance, peace, strength and skill. He was on the path of becoming the best karate student and his relationship with Johnny was getting better. Then for no reason other than that the plot demanded it Daniel think he has failed and now in season 4 he both learns and allows his students to learn the "strike first" doctrine. We see Robby teaching Miyagi-do karate even though one of the main strengths you get from it is in inner balance, kata and focus. The "moves" are not what makes that form of karate strong, and it is insoluble with Cobra Kai and Eagle Fang karate. But I guess someone complained that Daniel and Miyagi-do had become too much of a hero. I guess they realized that Cobra Kai were bullies and Miguel was becoming too much of a douchebag so lets make the most unlikely thing happen. Robby will almost kill Miguel, then people will love Miguel and it will stir the pot.
As much as I hope Robby and Johnny and Miguel will Settle their differences. I don’t really think it’s too likely for next season. They might at first but maybe something will change they, cuz the creators want the show to go on for at least like 8 seasons. And if they are all chill by next season, that’s 3 season worth of like no drama.
Yeah something has to happen but not the same things over and over. Even the writers admitted they cant keep having these same kids and rivalry going after each other for 6 or 7 seasons. They will likely change the dynamics up again but next season might begin the healing process and forgiveness for a lot of characters. Especially Johnny Robby and Miguel.
The funny thing I remember about the match Robby had against Demetri was when Demetri told Hawk, That Robby was a Jedi, now he went full Sith. I had a feeling there was going to be a Star Wars reference there. I find Robby a very special character, he interacted with nearly all the main characters on the show. I think Robby would stay in Cobra Kai, since Terry Silver is opening a chain of McDojos across the Valley, Robby and Tory would make a living teaching at one of the locations together with intentions to teach the students the right way, have a grey side and all that. The two of them won't bail on Cobra Kai right away, teaching Karate is all they know to earn a living, but still Robby would have peace with his father Johnny.
Of course there's hope! He hugged his father at the end of Season 4! XD No, but seriously, there's definitely hope for him. He's a good kid who wants his independence...It's evident how good he is, he just doesn't see things clearly sometimes and is blinded by rage and constant neglect. I TOTALLY understand the guy...
A lot of truth was spoken during this video, it's amazing how simple this series is on the outside, and how really is deep once you truly see how the characters are written, I haven't realize it but I think Cobra Kai is my favorite series since 3 years ago haha.
This is an absolutely brillant analysis! Probably your best one! It's so intricate, deep, and makes so much sense! I also didn't know that Robby clapped for Sam during the tournament! That's why Tory looked over at him slightly! Thanks for pointing that out! It makes me really happy! I definitely think that Robby is going to help Johnny find Miguel next season. In the finale, Robby says to Johnny, "I had all this hate inside, for you and for Miguel....", and since Robby decided to let go of his hate towards Johnny, this probably means that he's willing to reconcile with Miguel as well.
I hated robby before but I absolutely love him in this season. I liked that he tried to use both styles to use them to create an own way. He was literally the first who has done in whole karate kid wold. I'm pretty everyone who watches it had this thought at one point: why don't they fuse styles? Him teaching the Miyagi techniques actually pushed Daniel and Johnny together because it's the only way their students can compete with that. And the scene were robby talks to Johnny was just very good. This season makes him finally seem human. He was a bit woody before
I can def see Robby choosing the right path. You can just tell by how season 4 ended off. Not only that, I think Robby will try to persuade Kenny to leave Cobra Kai but due to Kenny being corrupted, he won’t leave. Tory is another character I can see fully redeeming herself at this point. From season 2 to 4, you can see the change in her.
Robby and Hawk had the best character development this season. But my favourite is Robby's tho, his is more complicated, there's still way more to go, to see. Hawk's arc was well done this season concluding it with a pretty bow by winning the tournament. A beautiful arc nonetheless. Now, for Robby I'm so excited to see where they will take his character from here. The most important for me is his relationship with Johnny, it's about time Johnny stepped up and both of them be the amazing father-son duo they can be. Tanner and William are so good at their scenes, so I hope we get some gorgeous moments from them. Next is his relationship or lack of with Miguel. It's time they reconcile. Maybe not exactly best friends but atleast not enemies, that would do for the next season. Then Kenny, i have a feeling he won't turn as bad as we all think he will..in the sense that Robby will pull him back and will save him from Silver and his horrible teachings, it won't be easy but when done it would be Robby's one of biggest win. Then lastly ( this could be just me) his relationship with Tory, I want the writers to develop it even more but on a slow pace just like they did in this season. I thought they had brilliant chemistry and a connection. They could have something really great there. Not just romance per say, but Robby and Tory can be each others person, someone they both trust, they can support and help each other and in turn make each other a better person. I really think developing a relationship with him can be one of the major ways they can turn Tory into the good side. So I really want to see that as well. Then ofcourse some kick ass fight scenes, he is so good at that. For me right now, him, Miguel and hawk are on equal footing as of now. But I also really want a moment where they just let Robby be his 100%..where he isn't hurt, he is not conflicted..and to Win something preferably with his dad by his side for once. Johnny and Robby had always stood in opposite sides up until now in all the fights, so to see them on the same side would be so fucking great! So yeah great vedio, great character and I'm so happy that Robby is finally getting the love he deserves from the fandom, having been one of my fav characters from the beginning it does make me happy. I have a feeling he is only gonna get better again. Can't wait for the next season!
Season 4 gave us a glimpse at a potential redemption for Robby and Tory they are both great people who are stuck in shitty situations guided by asshole kreese and silvers, Tory’s already beginning her redemption she was actually pretty noble in her last fight with Sam and her finding out that it was rigged will probably lead to her quitting cobra Kai and joining chozens side
I think both of them will leave Cobra Kai next season since Kreese got arrested and will join Eagle Fang. Kyler just stay in Cobra Kai because it really suits him. I think Kenny will change side too but it's gonna take a time for him just like Hawk in Season 3 who switch side.
@@margarethmichelina5146 But there is no eagle fang anymore, Johnny and Daniel closed their dojos; a deal's a deal I see what you mean though, Kreese might open his own version of Cobra Kai like Johnny after he gets out of jail and Chozen will definitely create his own dojo with Daniel being co-leader
@@margarethmichelina5146 maybe but I do feel like Robby might stay in it longer than Tory tbh it’s hard to tell exactly what will happen because if Robby and Tory leave cobra Kai won’t really be as impressive those two are like their top fighters in that show in all honesty
No one can deny he looks way better in cobra Kai than he does in myagi do, a part of me wants him to stay cobra Kai and just be nice, maybe to stay close to kenny
I love Robby's arc so much. All the crap he has to go thru is what makes his redemption so satisfying. Who is not emotionally invested in his character? Cobra Kai is awesome for giving me a hard time finding an easy pick for a fave character. I love each character!
Honestly, I'd love to see Robby and Miguel go from rivals for a father's attention to brothers sharing a love for the Martial Arts. If they forgave each other, set down their envy and picked up mutual respect they'd be powerful. Besides, I've seen how their actors are behind the scene, they have a great friendly dynamic between the two of them.
Man when Shawn finds out how Cobra Kai influenced Kenny, he’s either gonna beat the crap out of Robby or confront Silver himself. Either way, it’s not gonna be good.
I am really hoping that the series shifts to Robbie being the new main protagonist as Miguel's actor is probably leaving the show for a bit to film blue beetle
Few things I wanna see in season 5 -Robby goes with Johnny to find Miguel in Mexico -Robby finds Miguel, but Miguel is initially hesitant to talk to Robby for obvious reasons -Robby and Miguel sit down to eat and they throw in a call back to season 1 with Daniel and Johnny "Wanna go inside?" "I can eat" -Robby and Miguel fight off a bunch of goons wanting to start trouble -They both form a brother relationship with each other...well they already kinda are since Johnny izz banging Miguel's mom
another small detail i noticed is that during his fight with hawk/eli his cobra kai gi was losening the more he fight; kinda symbolic of him sheading the cobra kai skin
I think Daniel asks Barns for help to fight Silver but to begin with Barns gets mad and comes up and fights with Daniel and that's why Daniel gets a black eye. but after Barns thinks about it Barns chooses to help Daniel Jhonny and Chosen defeat Cobra kai
I absolutely love this version of Robby you can tell he still had great qualities to himself and he started to realize much like Miguel what Cobra Kai was doing.
Robby knows Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do, Hawk knows Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do, Miguel knows Cobra Kai, Miyagi Do, and Eagle Fang. Those three will create a new dojo teaching all lessons from all dojos into one
Though even when Robby joined the dark side, he was never truly bad, even by CK standards, as shown with Kenny. Anakin however went full on evil when he went dark side.
I think Robby should head to Eagle Fang instead of Miyagi-Do. Maybe he doesn’t stay there permanently, but I think it’d be cool for him to finally be with his dad.
Robby went from one of my least favorite characters to being in my top 5 with Eli, Tory, Miguel and Johnny. His and Eli's arks are relatable and so satisfying
I think it's true, Robby will end up going to Mexico with Johnny and there will be tension on Miguel's behalf because he'll see Johnny getting closer to Robby. However, I think it will be the fact that both Johnny and Robby are willing to do whatever it takes to help Miguel before he becomes corrupted as well that will show Miguel that it is time to put old grudges aside. I can see Miguel and Daniel both stick by Johnny when they all return because they do know that, Karate-Feuds aside, Johnny would take a bullet for both of them. They'll both realise that he's what they've both been looking for everywhere as of lately. While we may not know how many students Johnny will have left in Eagle Fang once he comes back, I can see his two 'sons' be all the students he really needs. I think in Eagle Fang Robby will get the chance to be WHO HE IS and, most of all, find out who that person is with a caring Johnny, giving him a chance at what his dad never had: true fatherly love and true happiness. I'd have a lot more to say about other characters, but I'll stick to this.
Robby will probably reconcile with Miguel at that trip to Mexico with Johnny- I mean, he still hasn't apologized for almost killing him so that's definitely something he needs to do to start his redemption path. I also want him to reconcile with Daniel and Amand Larusso, they both provided so much for him and his roots are in Miyagi Do, so even if he trains with Johnny, I want to see the sensei-student relationship with him and Daniel come back. And I do want Robby to win the All Valley.
They both will have to apologize to each other. Miguel for escalading the fight while Robby was trying to stop it and for Robby pushing Miguel over the balcony.
@@ozairdurrani9679 Escalating the fight is entirely different to nearly killing some one, after he shows you mercy and apologises to you. It’s not even close.
@@marinymph4829 That’s one thing people always fail to bring up is during the school fight, Miguel kept aggravating Robby more and more when they were fighting which was making things worse. Especially when he told Robby Sam doesn’t love him after he just found out her and Miguel kissed and that really sets off Robby, he was at his most rageful. Miguel did most of the instigating in their fight but no one talks about that tho
I have really enjoyed the breakdown of this character arcs in the season, nice content! (y) On another note: The music was a little too low on the mix with the voice talking, couldn´t appreciate that much.

The ironic thing about Robby teaching Cobra Kai the Miyagi-Do techniques is that it FORCED Daniel and Johnny to admit that one style (and one way of thinking) isn't enough. He did them a favor by forcing them to become more versatile and strong.
That’s what Robby wanted in season 2, so it made me happy that it finally happened
Then Chozen will be mad about it.
@@balmorebrito3449 And he would also be upset with Robby especially.
He’s such a good actor he’s gonna go far in the industry, that last scene with him and Johnny just cements that
Tanner should join Marvel and play Johnny Storm u agree ?

Interesting tidbit - the 3 points Robby scores on Kenny are the Quicksilver method:
> If an opponent can't stand, he cannot fight (the leg)
> If an opponent can't breathe, he cannot fight (the ribs)
> If an opponent can't see, he cannot fight (the bloody nose)
OMG!!!!
Agree in all but the last part, I think eagle 🦅 fang might be good for him
I don’t think Daniel failed him. Daniel certainly did the right thing. If he didn’t turn himself in he would’ve been caught eventually and gotten a worse sentence. Robby was just blinded by pure hatred to see past that and realize he was just trying to help.
@@iswiftyfox8997 Daniel did fail robby when he cast him aside because robby bought a drunk sam to johnny house

@@sarveshnathan7559 but zuko's father is a piece of trash, Johnny want to fix his relationship with his son and he really love him
Robby has by far the most interesting character arc, I’m so excited to see how Robby develops further in Season 5.
I have to agree with you there
I'm hyped for season 5
I think hawk has the most interesting character arc, but I am also interested in Robby’s development
You’re over hyping Kenny. The pacing was all off when it came to him
I respect ur opinion, but disagree with ya a bit, Robby is definitely the second most interesting arc, but hawk is easily the most interesting
Robby's character development is so well written and a treat to watch, I know some people hated him but my heart always broke for him, he's the one who ended up losing everything in the first 3 seasons (I know that his choices were not the best, but he had a very difficult life and was full of anger and frustration, him making a horrible mistake was bound to happen, but he's not evil or bad, he's actually a good guy who just need the right direction to forgiveness and peace, but he ended up being a collectionable card for the 3 Senseis and felt like nobody really cared about him)
I loved that the writers allowed him to spiral almost all the way down so he could bounce back but in his own terms and conditions, this path also allowed him to become one of the best skilled fighter among the young characters. I'm so excited to see what's next for him in the next season, until now, the writing doesn't disappoint.
And thank you for your videos!! I just discovered your channel and your analysis are very well thought and put together. Keep up with the good work!!! 👍🏻
Yea. We've been blue balled of the father/son relationship for 4 seasons now. I want Johnny to finally own up as a father and be better.
I agree with you except the part when he has to apologize first to Miguel, rewatch the show Miguel literally pushed Robby to do what he did to him he didn’t even want to fight even though he was angry and betrayed he just wanted a talk.
@@iceek1778 exactly. They BOTH owe each other an apology.
Stryfe before: "there is no hope for Robby."
Stryfe now: "I miscalculated."
He’s literally such a plot twist of a character 😭😭
Exactly. Robby had been my favorite since S1. Glad people actually get Robby’s character instead of hating him.
Robby is so much like Daniel. He’s roots will always be Miyagi-do. He respects Daniel so much. Love their relationship as Sensei and student.
Me too let's hope for S5 or S6.
But the question is, will he go back to him?
@@c.p.scorner4251 remains to be seen. Would hope so.
@@danemarais7398 Yet there are those who prefer him in Eagle Fang instead, perhaps because he betrayed Daniel's trust in teaching Miyagi Do to another dojo without permission. Isn't it possible that Johnny might coolly make that same point to Robby, since Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang were once one?
there is another signal that you missed:
When bowing, Robby always start with his hands open, like he learned from Daniel, before he closes his hands in the Cobra Kai way, as if his core was Miyagi Do, and the Cobra Kai influence is but a cover he is currently using, not his true self
he actually always closed his hands when he bowed. it’s something he’s done since season 1.
I always find robby the strongest person in cobra kai. Since every sensei consider robby to have the most potential. Plus robby is the only character who was trained by Daniel, Kreese, terry now I think johnny going to train him. S6 will be chozen.
Robby = the most potential
Miguel= the hard worker

Hawk is the only character to be trained by every single sensei
Took two Ls tho
Hope for Robbie? He's the most legit and well adjusted character on the show with the exception of Mrs LaRusso.
frrrr
True. Probably will only get better moving forward considering the gorgeous development his character had.
Spot on ! Completely agree with everything you said ! The hate that Robby gets sometimes is completely ridiculous.
Robby has amazing character development. I'm really excited for him in the next season
Miguel would be probably 19 by then so maybe Kenny would win

Sounds good but I want there to be more like Barnes and for the next karate kid movie to get some plot relevance…
Kenny & Kyler will be redemable. They'll also join Eagle Fang with Robby.
Honestly want this ending. It’s bittersweet but hey at least the good guys win lol

I hope they let Robby keep his dangerous edge, just with a growing emotional control to keep it in check, but at his disposal, if he needs it.
This is basically why Robbie has been my favorite character in the show.
"father did mess up with the both of them he does really care about his son"
Lmao that aint true at all. I love Johnny, but he is a shitty father
I think Miguels dad is going to crush Miguels heart and Robby will ok Johnny to comfort him.
@@sarveshnathan7559 frl because of that last scene they forgot that all Johnny did in Robby’s life is giving up on him each and every time.
You can create conflict and drama without relying on the same rivalries. I think the story would be helped if the characters are more dynamic
Robby is the Goat 🐐 .
I just want him and Miguel to interact in a way that doesn't revolve around fighting or girlfriends
Or over Johnny.
@@victorphan6274 that’s the principal reason why they interact
XD
No, but seriously, there's definitely hope for him.
Honestly I think Robby is the chosen one.
Like father like son. Deep down they're good hearted, but certain things bring out their ruthlessness.
He was a bit woody before
I said it in the 1st season and I'll say it again. Robby is the chose one.
I think Robby has to rejoin Miyagi-Do, I think he is the best at that style, and the life lessons would be extremely beneficial.
Robby Skywalker has returned to the light side of the force
Robby it's the true succesor of Karate Kid
@@margarethmichelina5146 But there is no eagle fang anymore, Johnny and Daniel closed their dojos; a deal's a deal
I see what you mean though, Kreese might open his own version of Cobra Kai like Johnny after he gets out of jail and Chozen will definitely create his own dojo with Daniel being co-leader
@@margarethmichelina5146 maybe but I do feel like Robby might stay in it longer than Tory tbh it’s hard to tell exactly what will happen because if Robby and Tory leave cobra Kai won’t really be as impressive those two are like their top fighters in that show in all honesty
@@margarethmichelina5146 if Kyler is the best Cobra Kai has, CK is completely finished.
No one can deny he looks way better in cobra Kai than he does in myagi do, a part of me wants him to stay cobra Kai and just be nice, maybe to stay close to kenny
Tori did strike Robby but after he stopped engaging because he already proved his point.
I think Robbie’s hairstyle is more reflective of Barnes than Kreese.
Honestly there were several moments that Robby gave me Mike Barnes vibes.
I think Robby has more potential than Miguel.
notice how Robbys kiya changes from Kresse’s in the beginning of S4 to Silvers at the end
his talk with jonhy at the end was my favorite part of season 4
I love Robby's arc so much. All the crap he has to go thru is what makes his redemption so satisfying. Who is not emotionally invested in his character? Cobra Kai is awesome for giving me a hard time finding an easy pick for a fave character. I love each character!
When Johnny and Robby hugged I was just thinking ‘who’s gonna mess it up this time’
Honestly, I'd love to see Robby and Miguel go from rivals for a father's attention to brothers sharing a love for the Martial Arts.
I love Robby he’s such a developed character
I am really hoping that the series shifts to Robbie being the new main protagonist as Miguel's actor is probably leaving the show for a bit to film blue beetle
No huh 😭 what is the show without Miguel??
To be honest robby has more good in him than miguel
I also see the symbolism of both Kreese and Robby creating a monster, setting up the plot for season 5
Very detailed analysis, I'm impressed 👏
Robby being trained by Chozen would be a nice Karate Kid 4
Few things I wanna see in season 5
-Robby goes with Johnny to find Miguel in Mexico
-Robby finds Miguel, but Miguel is initially hesitant to talk to Robby for obvious reasons
-Robby and Miguel sit down to eat and they throw in a call back to season 1 with Daniel and Johnny "Wanna go inside?" "I can eat"
-Robby and Miguel fight off a bunch of goons wanting to start trouble
-They both form a brother relationship with each other...well they already kinda are since Johnny izz banging Miguel's mom
Thanks for the shoutout! I just finished the season and it was awesome, so now i can enjoy your videos and not worry about spoliers. Awesome stuff 😁
You should do a character analysis for Tory
Robby's probably going to start his own dojo separate from all of the others with the main goal to taking Cobra Kai down.
I used to love robby. I felt like we lacked him in s4, hopefully we get him and miguel being friends or sm in s5.
Great video, Robby's story arc is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most next season next to seeing Chozen take over as Sensei of Miygai-do
Robby could possibly win the next All-Valley as a Eagle Fang Member or Miyagi-Fang
another small detail i noticed is that during his fight with hawk/eli his cobra kai gi was losening the more he fight; kinda symbolic of him sheading the cobra kai skin
What even is the difference between Cobra-Kai and Eagle-Fang? It's the exact same form of karate, just with a different brand name.
@@iainwhite8617 QUIET!
@@NeroG4ming That was an imperative.
Cobra Kai did it once again! Turning a villain into a likable character. Great vid btw.
Robby is the key to peace !
Robbie is definitely the Anakin of his story.
Though even when Robby joined the dark side, he was never truly bad, even by CK standards, as shown with Kenny.
Anakin however went full on evil when he went dark side.
Robby is just like Prince Zuko.
I really want him train under Chozen
I think Robby should head to Eagle Fang instead of Miyagi-Do. Maybe he doesn’t stay there permanently, but I think it’d be cool for him to finally be with his dad.
Robby just might be the chosen one.
Robby went from one of my least favorite characters to being in my top 5 with Eli, Tory, Miguel and Johnny. His and Eli's arks are relatable and so satisfying
Honestly robbys my favourite character I’ll always root for Diaz to win but I can relate to robby a lot more
Robbie if he goes to Eagle fang that would be incredible
I don’t believe Robby ever really liked Silver
Outside of Dimitri, Robby can see bullshit coming the best from any of the "kids".
The real redemption was the hairstyle change from season 1 and 2 now all we need is Will from Stranger Things to come around
Not a surprise you're being sponsored, you are clearly doing good with your videos. Keep it up!
@@hagoromootsutski9058 Miguel wasn't sorry for escalading it was the other way around.
@@hagoromootsutski9058 but it was an accident, Miguel was mentally hurting him in that fight.
Miguel did most of the instigating in their fight but no one talks about that tho
one of my favorite channels. You deserve more subs and will get more!. keep it up.
I hope Robby goes with Johnny. I could also see Robby seeing Johnny going to Mexico to save Migual as him getting abandoned again.
Well he did. Robby and Johnny are back together! and that's a good thing! A First Father and Son Rescuing Mission/Road trip!
I just hope he wins a tournament at least.
I have really enjoyed the breakdown of this character arcs in the season, nice content! (y) On another note: The music was a little too low on the mix with the voice talking, couldn´t appreciate that much.
