Robby and Johnny are very different Johnny was misunderstood.Robby wanted to join Cobra Kai because Sam broke up with him... I think.Johnny was taught right from wrong.
Robby is our modern day Anakin. He is an emotional and angry kid and despite being trained for self-defense at Miyagi-Do (Jedi) he gets seduced by Kreese's teachings and joins Cobra-Kai (Sith). On a realistic note Kreese is very much right about Karate. In a street fight you have to fight your opponent until they give, finishing the fight is more important than defense.
I will say that about Kreese he saved Silver's life by sacrificing himself to fight his Captain in his place. He did use his karate to defend others, and unfortunately was put into a situation where it was kill or be killed. And with Robby in juvie, Robby didn't get the upper hand until he used Kreese's teachings to isolate his opponents.
Kreese was also sent to Vietnam not much older than Robby, Diaz, etc. He knows kids can be thrust into pure hell at the drop of a hat. If the Draft were reinstated because America was at war with a serious threat, suddenly Kreese would be the good guy with the right idea.
Kreese's teachings are realistic. But where he lacks is when to stop. His teachings aren't all that bad but his influence leads the kids to do things the wrong way. Fighting smart doesn't mean stealing someone else's money to present it as your own help, no mercy doesn't mean breaking a kid's arm when they're clearly helpless(except in a fight to the death situation, again, when to stop).
@@miranda6519 Oh no I agree. I was just playfully going along with your comment (which is factual). I'm not against Robby redeeming himself, just more curious on which direction the writers would go if they chose to redeem him
1. Robby does NOT have a good heart. He learned exactly how Miyagi-do does things yet he kicked Miguel- an example of no mercy. 2. Johnny was never really the villain. He was a school bully. Robby is a loser and an attempted murderer
It took Johnny 30 years to pull himself up, and figure out what to do with his life. It did not take Johnny 30 years to redeem himself; he did that at the end of the first act of Karate Kid 1 when he made a declaration that he was going to focus on graduating high school, leaving his degenerate behavior in the past. During the course of the film, he was antagonistic, but not the actual antagonist; that was Kreese. Miyagi even points this out by saying, "No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher." Kreese was a horrible teacher, and following the tournament, in the opening minutes of Part 2, Johnny walks away from Kreese, and we, the audience never see him again until Cobra Kai picks up the story decades later. Johnny walked away from Kreese, starting with his opening dialogue at the very beginning, and ending with the opening act of the second film. Come Kreese's return in Cobra Kai, Johnny wanted him gone, but Kreese played him like a damn fiddle. When Johnny finally saw through the lies, he doubled down on rejecting Kreese for good. Kreese burned him 30 years ago, and he burned him again even after all these decades of cooling off. Johnny will never touch the stove ever again, knowing the absolute Kreese fire it'll start.
It’d be interesting, Shawn’d be among the strongest fighters with training bc with only street fighting skills he put up a good fight to a fairly well trained Robby using raw strength
"My father does not care about me, he never did.....Oh here's an idea, lets work for his childhood nemesis....it will hurt him because...um...he cares about me/what I do....Error,error, error"
@@jaynehogue2459 if u feel abandoned by everyone tho how would u feel if no one visits and your gf gets back with the person that started the fight that landed u in juvie how would u feel, wen u feel alone and someone gives u advice that actually helps you wouldn’t want to trust them?
Honestly, the reason people probably found Robby annoying is because of his old haircut 😂😂😂 But yeah, the kid hasn’t had a break, doesn’t excuse his actions but I hope he has a redemption arc.
When you break down Robby’s life it’s sad asf, even though Sam says “Everyone has a sob story that doesn’t give you the right to be a bully.” Robby’s entire life was/is the sob story. At the end of the day I’m pretty positive Robby will comeback from this I think he will do one more crucial negative thing
It’s crazy because after Robby got out of juvenile then he just pushed all the defense he learned from Daniel away and learns to strike first and forgets about defense
yeah but if you think about that, some part of the responsability also relies on daniel. Of course, Johnny is the one who is most responsible for it, but in season 2 daniel spends the whole summer trying to teach his students to be "better" than the cobra kai's, giving them some kind of moral superiority that feels very unrealistic, considering robby's life. So when he burts out and pushes miguel or enters kreese's cobra kai, I feel like is the natural consequence of months trying to surpress all the anger he feels inside. Of course, I'm talking about responsability, but no one is really responsible for it. What I love about the show is how they emphasize characters motivation, and although I must admit I find Robby a little annoying, I can empathize with his story.
To his own detriment. Robby's new signature move is do a really angry look, then fucking swing as hard as possible. This move makes it obvious, has no defense, and was easily blocked by both Sam and Johnny.
Idk about the drugs as Robby on screen doesn't show an interest in drugs same with the mother. Shes looking for a male lover replacement to take care of her, give her a home, food and money. Seeing her son is growing up and will also leave her. So abandonment issues. For Robby he appears to be more of a petty thief to survive and to keep a home while his mother barely pays for the billed. I feel Robby has a true loving heart, if he heard a woman scream in the ally ge would run and help, break up a fight if it looks unfair. Hes a lost soul that has potential
In Season 1 Episode 2 "Strike First," Vice Principal Carla Jenkins of North Hills High calls Johnny while he's training Miguel because she couldn't get a hold of Shannon. Carla states she found Molly on person. Now he may have been a dealer, but in "Cobra Kai Never Dies," (Season 1 Episode 4), Johnny finds Shannon at a bar and asks "Do you know that our son is at your apartment, skipping school and smoking dope with a bunch of dirtbags?", confirming he is a user. In Season 2 Episode 9 "Pulpo," when Shannon tells Robby she's going to Rehab, she says "I need help, sweetie, and it's taken me a long time to realize that... the drinking, the pills, I have to change; I want TO." The show states they are both users so they do have some sort of a substance problem respectively (although at least Robby has supposedly kicked his by the end of Season 1 and going into Season 2, thanks to Daniel being a positive role model in his life). I definitely want Robby to go back and at least get away from Kreese, it's just a matter of how they would go about it
Robby can be redeemed he just has to learn that there are two sides to a story and learn to calm his anger that causes him to push the people he cares about away because he still cares about Daniel and his Dad he just needs to calm down and listen he also needs to accept he is the same as Miguel and needs to be okay with that.
I think that if Johnny went to go visit Robbie things could've change drastically. And I kinda saw this coming I mean who couldn't. Johnny abandoned Robbie all of his life the least he could do was visit him in Juvie. Am I Wrong?
I agree. It sucks because he didn't choose Miguel over Robby for his visitation, it was a heat of the moment thing because Miguel's grandma convinced him to stay. It just didn't look good for Johnny though given his past, and he and Robby couldn't communicate with each other properly at the food hall.
@@jermaineobrien6378 I mean its kinda weird tell Miguel's Grandma: ,,Sorry I got visitation with my son who put Miguel into the coma" I mean she would probably understand, but still wouldn't take it well
Robby is an interesting character due to not only how similar he is to his father when he was his age, but also because he had a dysfunctional family life from the DAY HE WAS BORN. Don’t get me wrong, Robby made a terrible decision by throwing a cheap shot at Miguel (nearly killing him by the way), but honestly, what did you expect from him? His father wasn’t there for him since day one, his mom fooled around with a lot of boyfriends, he had little to nothing in his home, and had thugs for friends before he worked for Daniel Larusso. This was before the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament at the end of season 1. Going to Karate Kid and Cobra Kai season 1, we learn that Johnny’s mother was married to a rich asshole who picked on him, had Kreese as a father figure, and that same father figure nearly killed him. Yes, Johnny had it very bad, but at least he had wealth. Robby, on the other hand, did not. To me, season 2 brought in Kreese, but I also felt that Robby was a powder keg, dealing with Johnny showing more support toward Miguel, his mother going into rehab, Samantha cheating on Robby with Miguel, getting into a misunderstanding with Miguel at the school fight, and being insulted by Miguel throughout their fight at school. What did anybody think was going to happen with someone as troubled and unstable as Robby? I like Robby as a character, but he was a ticking time bomb from the start. I hope he gets redeemed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it took a season or two to come back to Miyagi-Fang. Thank you for reading my short essay lol. It’s only my interpretation so respond in any way you like!
The thing is, Robby has been abandoned all his life, by his mother, father, Sam, Daniel, everyone honestly. Although that doesn’t excuse his actions. He has had a hard life, and even after he was thrown into juvie, he had it hard there too. He’s upset, and unstable, which made him a good target for Kreese.
@@tristanmireles8994 did you watch the show lol, Daniel has done so much immature things its really dumb tbh but then again actually no he abandons robby then tries to persuade robby when he sees robby is with kreese lmao. He could've talked to robby once he got out prison or try to and call robby til robby gives in but did he? My points probably sound dumb man sorry
@@tristanmireles8994 nah you're right robby should, but like he said to Johny "I've blamed myself for it all" something along the lines of it. He probably has been trying to and its likely not working out which is why he's so unstable probably
@Skully Fade Nah not at the end of S4 as it will still be way way to soon for it to happen. So if Robby does get his redemption arc it'll be in either S5, or S6 as we need at least one whole season of the show where Robby is a full-on villain before he gets redeemed. So best guess is Robby gets redeemed sometime during S5 at the earliest or S6 at the latest that way we at least during S4 get to see Robby as a villain.
Idk, there was Johnny’s redemption arc, which had basically been everything up until now, so hopefully Cobra Kai loses the tournament or Robby realizes the true way of Cobra Kai so he then realizes his mistakes
Johnny and Robby are actually pretty similar in their story. Their mom is trying but kinda fails and their Father is just a source of money and can't offer advice and are also very impulsive
I really hate it when people misunderstand robby, this video was amazing, also during the school fight miguel also said that Sam didn't love Robby and only loved him, I'm pretty sure I would let rage takeover me aswell
Thank you so much! I admittedly did not like Robby especially in Season 3, but as I did research for this video, couldn't help but feel sympathy for him.
I hope Robby gets a redemption arc in season 4. Too many people shit on him for no reason. I get his upbringing was bad at first, but in season 2 he tried to turn over a new leaf. And it was working for a while. But people easily gave up on him all his life, you can’t expect someone to do the right thing simply because it’s the right thing. Circumstances play a role in one’s life choices as well.
I see Hawk more of anti hero while Robby is half he’s more just misguided I mean Daniel put him on right path but Kreese got to his head because his style did help him beat up those guys in juvie but still he doesn’t know who Kreese is
Given that the thesis statement of TKK franchise is, pretty much, “People can change,” I strongly suspect we’ll see a redemption arc for Robby. But, in a mirror to his father, it’s going to be rough for him to let go of this idea that he’s a lost cause, so he might as well just be Sith. I mean, Kreese-style Cobra Kai.
The way I see it, the first step to redeeming Robby would have to involve Miguel forgiving him. That's probably the only way Robby would feel less alone in a sense. He would also have to see how Kreese is using him.
Miguel just should’ve left Robby break up the fight. Miguel had two times to show Robby TRUE mercy at the final fight of season 2 and chose not too. One being at the beginning of the fight and the second being when Robby downed Miguel and try to break up Sam and torys fight but got tripped by Miguel. If Robby broken up the fight successfully, everything that lead to his downfall and Miguel’s downfall would’ve never happened.
Exactly and everyone turns blind that in s2 fight Miguel didn't attack robby just once he attacked him twice when Robby had stopped fighting him and was trying to stop Sam and Torys fight but no everybody blames robby for the whole thing and chooses to turn blind eye towards this
@@rainrain7936 Exactly, Miguel was the last one to arrive at the scene and he saw Robby pinning Tory against the locker. How would Miguel know that Robby was trying to stop the fight?
Robby is my favorite character because he’s the one in the show actively trying to change his entire identity. He’s been “the bad boy” for most of his life until he met Daniel, and is probably trying just as hard as Johnny to change his ways. Unfortunately, he’s been neglected, lied to, cheated on, made mistakes and manipulated to the point that he’s just like his father in the original movie. I truly hope that even though Miguel might take the spotlight as the new “karate kid”, that Robby gets some sort of redemption.
I think it's too early for a Robby redemption if they want to go six seasons. I would prefer his redemption to be in season 5. They will probably have to introduce a new villain sometime later anyway though. Can't just switch Miguel and Robby from from good to bad.
Agreed! His path into darkness has only just begun. From a character development and storyarc standpoint, that needs half to a full season to flesh out before anything of a redemption arc begins. I would wager that by the end of the season, Kreese will have gotten one of the kids killed somehow, and Robbie would find out about it during the tournament, and re-register as unaffiliated to screw Kreese over or something. Who knows, there's so many ways this could get written.
One of his first misdeeds of his downfall during Robby's time in Miyagi-do was being secretive and lying to Sam and his peers about Mr. Miyagi Medal of Honour, which Miguel returned it to Robby. I think he had fear of losing Sam to Miguel. Then when he found out that Sam kissed Miguel or vice versa, he was fueled with jealousy and rage to maim Miguel in the school fight where he hit Miguel with a spinning back kick sending him over the balcony and landing hard on the railing. So I see Robby more of a fallen hero next to Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars.
I think the person who is gonna play the biggest role in redeeming Robby is Miguel. I think Miguel is going to show Robby mercy and forgive him again, which will turn Robby back to the good side.
I’m honestly waiting for this. Cause with the whole storyline with Johnny and Carmen, I feel they’re gonna have to get along. I want them too because I feel they could be an awesome pair of step bros
You guys gotta get off this Miguel's the golden boy Kick. tell me what was there for Miguel to forgive? What did Robbie ever do to Miguel? In fact, it's Miguel who started every fight. the whole Scool fight was Miguel's fault even then Robbie had no intention of fighting Miguel he was trying to stop the fight.
@@mukbangfanatic5649 You raise a good point in that we must stop treating Miguel as the golden boy. Buuuut I think that Robby still owns a correctly done apology to Miguel for kicking him down the stairs. And in Miguel’s defense he didn’t start THAT fight (thou he was shitty in the tournament), he only entering the fight thinking Robby was attacking Tory.
@@melaniey.5596 Agreed. Tory started that whole brawl. I could certainly see Miguel's forgiveness and reconciliation having a part to play in turning Robby back by the end of the season, but I think the final straw would be....Kreese gets one of the kids killed, and that's the final eye-opener for Robby.
To be honest, he never really was brainwashed by Kreese or became evil. He was still a pretty mellow and compassionate guy while under Cobra Kai(kinda like a Bobby Brown lite) and was much less ruthless compared to Hawk, Tory, Kyler, etc.
Truu but Kreese got to him that’s why he didn’t redeem himself and his pain and anger taken control than his mind but hoping in season 4 they can save him. In my opinion, Robby is better with Daniel because he is more helpful and protect full with his friends and if he joins back to miyagi do in season 4, Daniel should teach him and the other Miyagi Dos what Chozen teaches him the Miyagi secrets of Karate
@Thanos the Farmer Has Returned that’s extremely accurate jail isn’t a playground and it can turn people extremely aggressive simply because they have no choice except to be aggressive
@@rustless-suit2755 bruh, he was taught true karate but used it to revenge on Miguel because of his stubbornness with the affair between Miguel and Sam.
Yeah I don't get that, he really is a great character! But I think the only bit of redemption arc we're getting from him in S4 is gonna be at the tail end. His journey into darkness has only just started, so it's gotta flesh out in order to have a rewarding payoff. I would bet the end of S4 will propel him to the good path, and then S5 will be him finding direction, reconciliation with Daniel, and maybe a bit with Johnny. If S6 is the final season, that I would guess will end with a rewarding reconciliation between him and Johnny.
@@clacoca1807 Yeah I saw that, that there was always a plan for 6 seasons. If they ended it after 4, I'd be happy with that. Season 3's ending felt a lot more satisfying than 1 and 2. Still a cliffhanger but gave you hope for the future.
@@StryfetheWarrior Robby I think is going to the guy who changes Cobra Kai from within, dragging along Tory and the rest of the other students with him. I honestly see him winning the tournament in season 4 by rejecting Kreese's teachings in the final fight with whoever he's gonna come across(probably Sam, since idk if Miguel's going to be back full strength, but I want it to be Hawk but that's unlikely). He strikes first and hard, but he doesn't do illegal strikes etc.
@@battousaix4263 That would be an awesome way to come back. It almost seems a little far fetched, but then again this is a series where everybody jumps to conclusions over everything. As my friend put it, "Cobra Kai - The Show of Misunderstandings"
You're not completely wrong. I think it was kinda messed up that Johnny was going to leave to see his son, and the grandma pleaded with him to stay and pray. Although it was Johnny's choice at the end, I wished she understood why Johnny had to see Robbie.
Miyagi would disapprove of this RUclips title, he knew that anyone could change for the better. The entirety of his character was that he always had hope and knew that people can choose to be better if they allow themselves first. Chozen is a great example of this
I like to think that Miguel is Ryu and Robby in a way is his Ken counterpart (Street Fighter), except now Robby is more like an Evil Ken/Violent Ken from the old Street Fighter II anime movie
@@swinkajou4288 It's also evident in the game, as Miguel has a skill called Cobra Uppercut which can be upgraded to resemble Ken's Shoryureppa and Robby has a Cold Upper that's the ice version of Miguel's move.
I imagine both of them fighting kreese or silver in some finale. Maybe one of them is beating up miguel and robby stops them and him and miguel go ham, similar to cap and bucky v iron man in civil war.
Has anybody else taken into consideration that now that Robbie is in Cobra Kai he knows some of the secrets to miyagi do making the next season that much more enjoyable because of the tournament setting between 2 dojos that now hold advanced techniques At their disposal
Sam is also partially to blame for his abandonment crisis. Seeing her with Miguel especially after learning they had kissed is pretty damaging, on top of having to deal with her angry drunk issues. He resorted to old habits he was used to from his mom being drunk which is sad. Having a girlfriend talk to him like Sam did while drunk is toxic, meanwhile Tory was simply having a good time when -she- was drunk. I thought I liked Sam, only until Season 2. Major yikes. I feel for Robby the most honestly.
Sam also not telling her parents that Yasmine hit Johnny's car is also what lead to some of the key events to Season 1 (along with Kyler picking on Miguel).
Robby will have a redemption season like how hawk had a redemption episode. The actor could play the next Tommy Oliver if they made the power rangers right with casting and Jason can be played by the actor who plays miguel.
From what I understand, Daniel was not training all that much until Cobra Kia came back, so him not being able to do the double leg kick makes sense since he probably not being actively training until recently. His mom even said in season 1 she heard Daniel had taken up karate again, so it does imply he probably was at best only maintaining what he had rather than building on what he had until he opened his dojo, so doubt he had been working to learn the kick during last decade (though given Robby was able to learn it with only a little training does speak highly of his talent compared to Daniel)
Thanks for using my music in the video and the shoutout! I waited till I finished season 3 before watching this, and its amazing work you did, pure quality and very entertaining. Cant wait for season 4 to see where each character and robby end up
Robby is such a complex character, I think he is the new Kresse because he can manipulate like no other of the youngsters. He is nice but he looses focus. The main issue is that Johnny is happy with his relationship with Miguel so much that he does not invest the time that Robby needs. It is tragedy but I think Robby is meant to become evil.
It is sad because it's like he was almost set up completely to fail. I'm ok with not everybody being redeemed (i.e. Kreese, Mike Barnes), and it'd be interesting if he did not get redeemed at all
A question to consider. Was Robby actually trying to seriously hurt or kill Miguel? It seemed more like an accident. Robby doesn't get a break, but I believe he will be redeemed.
If we're talking about the school fight, I don't think Robby was trying to kill Miguel but was blinded by his fury and wanted to knock out Miguel. If you rewatch the fight when he snaps all the way until he runs off, you can see the shock and regret at what he did before running off. He also stills feel guilty about it when Robby catches up with him.
@ADIN NESIMI I think Jonathan was referring to the end of the school fight. In the video I did state that Robby attempted to mediate but because Miguel didn't know that and only saw Robby pushing/confronting Tory, he attacked.
At this point I'm really tired of redemption arcs in this show, and I'd rather have Robby continue his path of being a member of Cobra Kai over going back to Miyagi-Do. If a redemption happens, I'd see it happening in season 5/6 instead of 4.
I loved his old haircut it was so beautiful🖤 Loved him before starting karate, loved him when he was in Miyagi-Do, loved him while he was in juvie and loved him even more when he joined Cobra Kai. 🖤He is a beast🖤
@@CalistFitness Gotcha, it's just the timestamp shows Kyler at the pool while Robby is fighting at Miyagi-Do a little bit before that. Oversight on my part, I was trying to clarify physique and got the two mixed up
@@StryfetheWarrior Ive put probably wrong timestamp then, should have been on the part where Daniel is with Robby in the woods and youre saying that he has good muscle definition and that it gives him advantage. With pool scene I meant beginning of season 2 where was robby shirt-less
I’m honestly not shocked he ultimately ended up joining cobra Kai considering all that’s happened and addressed in this video. Kids like Robby are easier to manipulate and Krease preyed on his vulnerability. Notice how he called him “son.” I am hoping for a redemption arc (which won’t happen in one season I believe especially with Terry coming into play) but I also want to see this play out. Hopefully Robby can find his way back to Daniel even though it won’t be easy. Robby this season gives me KK3 vibes especially the scene where Daniel finds out he joined cobra Kai and Robby tells him to leave. He also has both Miyagi and now cobra Kai training and his time in jail will toughen him. Anyways GREAT VIDEO! Robby is truly interesting as I see both Daniel and Johnny in him. I know some people don’t see a redemotion arc for Robby ( that would also be a very interesting route) but I think that may suit tory better (although I’m hoping she gets redeemed too). Robby didn’t intend to kill Miguel it was an accident and he did intend to mediate in the beginning of it all. He does feel shame which I think shows there’s hope. Tory however although her anger was valid wanted to hurt Sam badly. I honestly wish the best for Tory and Robby to find the right path. I think your last point highlights a huge issue as well Robby did all the “right things” at some point but it ended badly and he reverted back to his old ways. I think to Robby it doesn’t matter what he does anymore because he’ll always end up low so he’s turned to Krease and his ways which sucks.
Thank you so much! Robby is definitely misunderstood and while I hated him after watching Season 3, the more and more I did research for this video I started to feel bad for him. Never had a fighting chance and let down by every adult in his life.
I think they can redeem Robbie but not in the next season. Robbie is going to be Cobra Kai's champion also Kreese will use Robbie to hurt Johnny and Daniel. Maybe we can see a step by step change from Robbie but won't be completed until season 5, i think.
I still feel that there is hope for robby because I see him as anakin and anakin managed to come back after all that he's done. So I believe that he has a chance

Johnny is just as guilty as Daniel is. Johnny poisoned Miguel's mind and others with his version of what Daniel did over 30 years ago and when he tried to be "the better guy" and also tried to guide Miguel for the good path it was already too late for what he caused others to do. While Daniel let his past anger towards Johnny win multiple times and affected his vision of people like Robbie that were innocent. Funny thing is both men barely did anything bad directed between them, it was all caused by the people around them, but because of the hate that they grow.
I didn't like him at first but I'm glad they cut his hair & they're making him more interesting. Like Sam & the other teens Robbie's got a chance to grow & change.
I bet Robby is gonna be the new mike barns since Kyler was like the johnny since he met Miguel and I think Shawn is like the new chozen and now Robby becomes the new mike barns
I really hope Robby gets a redemption arc; I loved him in Season 2! However, am I the only one who feels like Robby doesn’t feel bad for what he did to Miguel? I mean obviously he didn’t mean to put Miguel in a coma, but he doesn’t even seem to feel guilt or remorse for what happened. He didn’t think he deserved to receive consequences for what he did.
He felt sorry only until Kreese convinced him that Miguel attacked him for trying to mediate between Sam and Tory. He was still guilty about it during the beginning of Season 3 before being arrested.
One theory made by watch party is that robby will change cobra kai and by the time of the tournament he will change cobra kai to Johnny Lawrence cobra kai not kreeses
Robbie & Kreese are do similar. Kreese is a wounded warrior. He responded to his country, his country trained & taught him to be what he is because ( quite frankly) we need a bad ass at times to do our fighting, but as a ‘Nam veteran he is betrayed by his country & shamed for it
Robbie has always been neglected & along comes LaRusso who trains him in order to counter Cobra Kai & start a gang war against Cobra Kai. That’s obviously how he sees it only to have Daniel turn on him & betray him to the cops. Daniel trained & taught him just like the USA trained & taught Kreese, . Daniel turned on him like US turned on Kreese. Daniel now wants to ‘reform’ him for being a pathetic figure just like the country tried to ‘rehabilitate the Nam vets after turning them into killing machines. Kreese has to have disgust LaRusso as symbolic of the affluent business people who support wars while they stay home & become wealthy while viewing war as a football game from afar. Would be great to see him shove it into Daniels face that he trained Robbie to fight & almost kill Miquel while being ‘respectable’ so what really is the difference between him & Kreese! To see Robbie mature & help Kreese slay his demons ( one being Daniel) & both of them finding redemption would be a really fascinating tale

I'm thinking it'll be at the end of season 4 or later some time in season 5. I think season 4 will be "dark Robby" (if you will) and they'll focus on that for most of the season if not the whole season. His redemption will probably come though (unless they want to make another series or movie in 30 years 😁). I heard they only have 6 seasons planned...not sure if that is just a rumor though.
Your Analysis is a good one and ill take nothing away from your views on said chosen one theories, after watching these cobra kai seasons I have my own break down on these characters as well, As a former delinquent having hardships as a teen myself sometimes we forget that we are looking into the lives of teenagers, that is why I would never say Robbie is irredeemable or say that there is no hope for him, he is just lost and broken but most truly can be mended , the difference being Miguel having more guidance from different loved ones.....when having a look at Robbie I see raw and untapped great ability alongside natural talent, almost beating Miguel at the tournament while injured. there can still be a lot of storyline possibilities to play around with and I still see Robbie as a potential Chosen one, i have no doubt that Robbie will jump on thee correct path once more.

That fight between Robby and Johnny reminded me of Anakin vs Obi wan
Kreese's teachings are realistic. But where he lacks is when to stop. His teachings aren't all that bad but his influence leads the kids to do things the wrong way. Fighting smart doesn't mean stealing someone else's money to present it as your own help, no mercy doesn't mean breaking a kid's arm when they're clearly helpless(except in a fight to the death situation, again, when to stop).
Still I hate kreese Robby and Tory now also for breaking up with Miguel

Cobra Kai 13 - Robby finally turns good
@@StryfetheWarrior Robby is a good person and has a good heart he’s just broken and lost and just let his emotions get the best of him
@@miranda6519 Oh no I agree.
I think that shawn will join cobra kai when he leaves juive Terry silver recruits him or robby since they did respect each other and the end

@@StryfetheWarrior you are right cuz he was getting beat up when he was using self defense.
@Mike H maybe when Robby gets older then he will understand why Daniel put him in juvenile
yeah but if you think about that, some part of the responsability also relies on daniel.

Not to mention Daniel twice throwing cheap shots at Robby when he got angry with him.
The thing is, Robby has been abandoned all his life, by his mother, father, Sam, Daniel, everyone honestly. Although that doesn’t excuse his actions. Same here.
@ImZae nope, it will last until season 6 and probably 8 although 7 and 8 is just some tiny rumours at the moment
I just hope his redemption is at the end of a season and not like the middle like in season 1 like at the end of season 4 and 5.

Robby is my favorite character because he’s the one in the show actively trying to change his entire identity. He’s been “the bad boy” for most of his life until he met Daniel, and is probably trying just as hard as Johnny to change his ways.

Great video. Robby ended up being one of my favorite characters in a show with a lot of great characters.
Thank you so much!

I imagine both of them fighting kreese or silver in some finale. Maybe one of them is beating up miguel and robby stops them and him and miguel go ham, similar to cap and bucky v iron man in civil war.
I think his redemption wont come about 'til season 5 or later. s4 will be building him up to be the champion representing Cobra Kai
Robby is a good kid, he’s just had a rough go of it
Definitely misunderstood to say the least.
Has anybody else taken into consideration that now that Robbie is in Cobra Kai he knows some of the secrets to miyagi do making the next season that much more enjoyable because of the tournament setting between 2 dojos that now hold advanced techniques At their disposal
Robby is going to be very dangerous during the tournament.
@@StryfetheWarrior Sam not saying anything about Yasmine had nothing to do with Kyler bullying Miguel.
@@prestonrcasey I was referring to how those two key events were responsible for a lot of occurring in Season 1.
Robby will have a redemption season like how hawk had a redemption episode. The actor could play the next Tommy Oliver if they made the power rangers right with casting and Jason can be played by the actor who plays miguel.
Funny enough I was thinking that Xolo and Tanner would fit within that canon
From what I understand, Daniel was not training all that much until Cobra Kia came back, so him not being able to do the double leg kick makes sense since he probably not being actively training until recently. His mom even said in season 1 she heard Daniel had taken up karate again, so it does imply he probably was at best only maintaining what he had rather than building on what he had until he opened his dojo, so doubt he had been working to learn the kick during last decade (though given Robby was able to learn it with only a little training does speak highly of his talent compared to Daniel)
Well this didn't age well lol
After season 3, I absolutely believed that there was hope for Robby. Seasons 4 and 5 only supported that belief.
I love BOTH Miguel AND Robby. They are both great characters, fighters, and have important stories.
Agreed, they are two sides of the same coin.
Same!
Thanks for using my music in the video and the shoutout! I waited till I finished season 3 before watching this, and its amazing work you did, pure quality and very entertaining. Cant wait for season 4 to see where each character and robby end up
Thanks so much man, amazing job on the music! I'm definitely hyped for Season 4 as well
Robby is such a complex character, I think he is the new Kresse because he can manipulate like no other of the youngsters.
Kreese, Mike Barnes), and it'd be interesting if he did not get redeemed at all
Robby staying evil is something I want
I’m so glad someone talked about the elbow to knee thing such a great piece of for shadowing
Didn't even notice it when I watched it the first time
A question to consider.
@ADIN NESIMI don’t defend Robby he completely went against miyagi’s teachings
@@shilpinitin6392 we will defend Robby because Miguel can be stupid at times. So don't be shortsighted one seeing only one side of the coin.
@@FitPatton they both made mistakes, one legit gave mercy and even apologize the other let his rage over take him and it ended up hurting someone.
@ADIN NESIMI I think Jonathan was referring to the end of the school fight. In the video I did state that Robby attempted to mediate but because Miguel didn't know that and only saw Robby pushing/confronting Tory, he attacked.
Watching your s5 recap compared to this is night and day, great job improving the audio man I respect that you put in the work to do better
I'll be real I love Robby and he's very relatable
I think he's definitely misunderstood more than anything. Had a lot of great potential; just sucked Kreese swooped in and brainwashed him.
Exactly :/ I think his potential for his arc will be amazing and I'm dying to see an emotional scene between Johnny, Daniel, Sam and Miguel.
I started watching you since you only had 300 subs... you skyrocketed without a doubt and will remain my fave youtuber
I appreciate that!
No matter what problems u have with ur partner
U never project that onto the kid or persuade them to hate the partner because u do
100% agreed
Robby is not Johnny’s son, he may be biologically, but Miguel will always be Johnny’s second son :D
Johnny is the father to Miguel, much like Mr. Miyagi was a father-like figure to Daniel
And that is the problem he actually has a son who needed him
That's why Johnny has messed up big time
@@newyear4391 I've seen a meme somewhere that had a photoshopped Robby and Miguel head on the Step Brothers movie poster😂
Robby is Johnny’s son, not Miguel. It’s well past time Johnny put Robby first
At this point I'm really tired of redemption arcs in this show, and I'd rather have Robby continue his path of being a member of Cobra Kai over going back to Miyagi-Do. If a redemption happens, I'd see it happening in season 5/6 instead of 4.
I'd also be ok with not EVERYBODY being redeemed. I doubt somebody like Mike Barnes would be redeemed (and honestly I like how ruthless he was)
I loved his old haircut it was so beautiful🖤 Loved him before starting karate, loved him when he was in Miyagi-Do, loved him while he was in juvie and loved him even more when he joined Cobra Kai. 🖤He is a beast🖤
He's definitely misunderstood and has some more depth to him than people think
Exactly! Robby for life. Sam doesn't know what she lost.
14:00 There is difference between muscle definition and muscle mass, Robbie is nto really muscular as can be seen in the pool scene
You mean Kyler?
@@StryfetheWarrior no Robbie
@@CalistFitness Gotcha, it's just the timestamp shows Kyler at the pool while Robby is fighting at Miyagi-Do a little bit before that. Oversight on my part, I was trying to clarify physique and got the two mixed up
@@StryfetheWarrior Ive put probably wrong timestamp then, should have been on the part where Daniel is with Robby in the woods and youre saying that he has good muscle definition and that it gives him advantage. With pool scene I meant beginning of season 2 where was robby shirt-less
well... when you put it all together like that, it sound real good! I LOVE THIS SHOW!
Thank you, same here!
I would love to see this match Kreese vs Negan, who's more badass?
Dude fucking same
I’m honestly not shocked he ultimately ended up joining cobra Kai considering all that’s happened and addressed in this video.
That could be likely, technically Hawk's redemption was done the same. It took him all season to come back to redeem himself.
I want to see a dark Robby
over 5k+ subs in 2 months!! keep grinding brother love the vids!
Thank you so much!
I would like to see Chozen as Robby's Karate Sensei, I think they would complement each other very well
Chozen could definitely teach Robby a thing or two about anger issues
Without a doubt for me, of the young characters Robby is the best Cobra Kai character with Hawk, they are the most realistic for me
I still feel that there is hope for robby because I see him as anakin and anakin managed to come back after all that he's done. So I believe that he has a chance
Anakin died seconds after coming back tho
It'll be interesting to see how he comes back if anything.
@@gabrielguerrero7296 to save the universe which disney ruined by bringing back sidious. Which is why the last 3 star wars films suck. I'm pretty sure they're not gonna kill robby
Anyone here after season 4 ending? Haha robby is not lost yet
Exactly alot of people try to write the kid off when he has a better arc than miguel.
your theories are the freaken best
Thank you so much!
But let’s not forget Robby had swag even before he knew karate
I'm hopeful that sometime in the end Robby can be redeemed and we might see a team up of the stars of each dojo to take on Kreese to make him forgive himself for things he did while a POW in Vietnam.
I really hope Robby gets redeemed its still not too late for him what I really like about his character is how similar he is to Anakin/Darth Vader that's why I wont lose faith in him
And Darth Vader did redeem himself
@@StryfetheWarrior Exactly especially how he said to Luke he cant save him but he did in the end if Vader can so can Robby now the question is who'll be his Luke ?
@@bakaiserroshimama2970 I think it'll be Daniel, maybe Krease and Silver get the jump on him are beating him senseless and Robby jumps in to help him, we see master and apprentice team up once more
You the man - awesome video!
Thank you so much!
I hear you. I really do. But I'm convinced that everything is Daniel fault.
Daniel definitely has some responsibility for letting Robby go astray; he even admits himself that he let down Robby in S3 when catching up to him.
12:42 “being neutralized by the locker” lmao the locker is easily the best Kobe’s Kai student
Agreed!
Your thumbnail blew my mind
I admit when I watched the fight for the very first time, I didn't catch that either
I agree, he won't be redeemed until season 5 or 6
Robbie is the best character
Keep it up man. Your videos are really good
Thank you!
Very interesting comparison for sure.

Personally my favourite character out of new set of characters, hence I would want a redemption arc for him.
I would totally be ok with S4 expanding more on Dark Robby.
@@StryfetheWarrior me too.
I've heard it a lot and I agree it does seem a little like an anakin story...and I like it.
Well said!
