    Robby is the only teen who has done the handstand kick, who has fought two senseis, fought along with a sensei, been trained by the most number of senseis, beaten all of CK alone, taught CK moves, been in most fights, won most fights, had most 1 vs. many fights, shown mentorship to two kids, had his birth date mentioned directly, shown doing weight lifting, been very close to both of the two main characters (Johnny and Daniel), had been personally asked by two senseis to learn their ways, and entered the AVT in S1 unaffiliated.
    Also, he has interactions with all of the major character. Everybody talks about him, whether in Miyagi-Fang or in Cobra Kai.
    He's the only person to have one-on-one conversations with all four Larussos.
    Also, his decision to go to Larusso and Kreese's coming were the storylines that gave them the feeling of a real show. Not to mention the writers never showed him inferior to Miguel and Hawk (by giving him an injured arm and a distraction with the camera focusing on Kenny for a moment) and literally telling us that both fights could go either way twice in the show.

    You brought up a couple of points I never considered. The first one being Robby realizing that Johnny and Daniel were able to put aside their differences and work together to look for him when he was on the run, and thus he decided to stay with Johnny and help him find Miguel. And the other one being Robby having a soft spot for Kenny and others in Cobra Kai during Season 5. At first I was irritated that he was taking so much damage in the final fight after dominating the whole dojo the previous season. But I really think that Robby didn't want to fight, and thus didn't have his killer instinct in that moment.

    I never had any doubts that Robby always felt remorse for what happened to Miguel in the school fight
    What made it hard for there to be reconciliation between the two was the constant feuding between the dojos as well as the relationship drama involving Sam and Tory
    The show does a great job at highlighting the fact that Robby, despite making questionable life choices, is a good kid at heart who is fully capable of thinking of others
    And also highlighting that Miguel, while also a good kid who has more friends and companions than Robby, is capable of making reckless decisions himself

    Robby's story in season 4 and especially in season 5 hit so so so hard for me personally because just like Robby, I DID have a biological father that cared about me, just had (and still has) a lot of demons (former Army blackhawk pilot and combat medic that served in Afghanistan for over 20 years). I was so mad and angry at him for not being there for me for most of my life, even missing out on my high school and community college graduation ceremonies, but one day after he recently showed up out of the blue at our house in order to try and patch things up with me, while I thought at first (and for a while to be honest) that I was going to scream ferociously at him in anger, I ended up almost crying, and we hugged things out as he owned up to his mistakes, and I finally forgave him. I treated that day as if i'd never see him mentally stable (or at all) ever again, and it was absolutely the right thing for me to do; I have no regrets anymore. At the moment he's still doing okay, fighting drug and alcohol addiction one day at a time (he's almost, if not past day 100 if I'm not mistaken?). :)

    Robby winning The ST makes the most thematic & narrative sensewhile also being integral to Johnny's overarching journey as The MC. Plus Miguel started out the Series like Daniel & they intentionally subverted us by revealing that hes meant to be this Generations redeemed & protagonistic version of Johnny. Robby makes a bit more sense as its a reverse to his father. This whole show started with a flashback of Johnny losing to Daniel & S1 ended with Robby losing like his father to Miguel. The best full circle is reversing that. Miguel is a Former Underdog Turn Champ/One Of The MC in an Essemble Cast. People need to understand that Miguel is not the primary Protagonist. Miguel is a Deuteragonist/Secondary Protagonist alongside Sam & Robby while Daniel & Johnny are the Main Co-Protagonists. Miguel is a flawed former Underdog but an overall likable & fun character regardless.
    I can agree that Miguels journey should end with him fighting for the right reasons but that doesn't always have to apply on the mat/tournament either. Plus, the begining of the show began eith a flashback of Johnny losing to Daniel in 84 & S1 ended with Robby ending up like his father against Miguel. The best full circle is reversing the outcome. Not nesscarily having Robby VS Miguel again but having Robby gain the final tournament win. Most Underdog stories shows that Underdogs never cared about a tournament or a sense of Victory & Robby has shown that. Miguel is a former Underdog who is more The Overdog now. Johnny's entire redemption arc has been about Robby since the very begining. Miguel has already proven to be the better fighter than Robby despite the being equals (but Miguel has a slight edge). Underdogs are characters who mainly dont care about the win & end up getting ot at the end. Hell Daniel never cared about the win in 84 & he ended up becoming the Champ. Sure Robby's character doesnt depend on getting a tournament victory but he has proven more of an Underdog than Miguel since S1 alongside Miguel. Its more apparent that Robby is the one who has been emulating Daniel's Character Arc, not Miguel. S1, bit of 2, & 4 has showcased all of that. I mean look at Rocky in Rocky 1 & 2.
    Miguel's character arc & purpose is more about being a better man than Johnny was, him not following under the shadow/footsteps of Johnny's past behaviors as a teen, & balancing his love life with Sam in which Johnny failed with Ali. Another is Miguel also playing a major part in giving Johnny purpose & a roadmap to his redemption. Yes, Miguel & Johnny are essentially Daniel & Miyagi to one another but its very apparent that Miguel's Character Arc is being a redeemed Johnny. In terms of "Main Teen Character" Miguel, Robby, & Sam share that title equally. Miguel is merely advertised as "The One Main Teen" but its clear, he shares that with Sam & Robby as a Trio. Miguel's Character doesnt depend on a Tournament Victory either as shown in S4. Miguel has already proven that he has redeemed himself & is already a Champ by heart by beating his injuries in S3 & fighting like honorable bad-@$$ compared to 1x10 going forward. Both Miguel & Robby are equally not dependent of the tournament win & both are deserving of it. By the end of this Miguel's Real Trophy is Sam. With both boys parrelleling elements of Daniel, one of them is getting that girl at the end & the other, the final tournament trophy & I dont think 1 is getting both. Im justs saying, its more preferable for the 2 characters who emulates elements of Daniel to have a Half/Half & Win/Win for both boys. Miguel's Trophy is Sam as his Ali (something Daniel & Johnny never achieved) & Robby getting The Tournament Win as a parrelel reverse of his father & homage to Daniel. Both Different versions of the Karate-Kids getting a win. Sam is considered to be this generation's Ali & Miguel did what Daniel & Johnny couldnt as a fusion of both men. In terms of Robby, him winning is a parrelel to Daniel in 84 while also being a reverse of his father. The show's first episode started with Johnny losing in Flashback along with the 1st Season ending with his son losing similarly (albiet under MD). Trust me I dont want Miguel to lose. Hell apart of me wants to see a clean win for him compared to S1 (welll.......thats gonna happen my way) But I feel like him taking a bad-@$$ loss while giving it his all is a better way for him. Miguel has always been too much of a proud fighter like Johnny. Plus Miguel can win a real fight rather than a competition & if its being MF Top-Dog Leader then so be it.
    Robby winning The ST would be an amazing parrelel reverse of his father. Plus, the S1 Finale ended with Robby losing like his father added with being a What-If Daniel loss in 84 with Miguel having a Dark Daniel Win/What If Johnny won in 84 instead of Daniel. It would be an amazing full circle to not have Robby repeat his father's Runner-Up streak & win big. I want Miguel to win as well since he is my favorite character but The ST will not be one of them. Plus, Miguel did what both Johnny (in particuclar) & Daniel couldnt....potentially end up with his Ali through Sam. Robby can have the Big Underdog Tournament win while Miguel gets his Ali. Its a win win for both hybrid of both men. Its funny both both boys names rhyme with Daniel & Johnny tho. Migu-el/Dani-el & Robb-y/Johnn-y. The main difference is their roles at most times is in reverse.

    I respect all views and opinions, and you bring up many very good points. In this final season I see it like this: Johnny/Kreese/Silver stand for tournaments and trophies, Miyagi always stood for using karate to defend yourself and others. Miguel is in the lineage of Kreese and Johnny, Robby in the lineage of Daniel and Miyagi. Son if there are two major fights, my pick is Miguel wins the tournament so the show started like it began, Sensei Johnny and student Miguel take the trophy, and Robby survives a fight to the death and follows the path of Miyagi and Daniel. Some people on YT wrote Miyagi would be proud if Robby wins a trophy. No he wouldnt, watch KK3 again, Miyagi disliked tournaments.

    • @StryfetheWarrior
      @StryfetheWarrior  16 дней назад +1

      Thanks for watching! Correct, Miyagi was not a fan of trophies. Ken Cole and I discussed a while back in a previous vid (I think it was my "Why Devon Didn't Lose to Tory" or one of his livestreams) about Robby entering the tournament in S1, and stating that he had no need to compete. Though personally, I think Robby needs the W, even if it involves a trophy. Ultimately, though Miyagi was not a fan of Daniel competing in both All-Valleys at first, he would end up agreeing to coach Daniel twice because it was for LaRusso to stand his ground in self-defense. And as it was said in S5, there are some fights Miyagi could not walk away from.

    • @chrisbach1533
      @chrisbach1533 16 дней назад

      @@StryfetheWarrior I agree with you about "Robby needs a W, even if it involves a trophy", thats true. But my point was should there be two big fights, one in a tournament, one Chozen vs Daniel fight to the death, my pick would be Miguel for the tournament and Robby for the death battle. I read many comments and many ppl think it will be the other way around.
      Of course anything is possible. But when it comes to the All Valley: In KK1 it was Miyagi's idea for Daniel to compete with Johnny there. Most probably he thought a tournament with rules and protected by the referee is the best and safest way to bring Daniel and Johnny to the mat and fight it out.
      And when Daniel first wanted to defend his title in KK3 (even before Barnes and Silver showed up), Miyagi was not amused and didnt want it. Later Daniel was basically blackmailed by Barnes to fight there, or lets say pushed, not blackmailed.
      But yeah we will see :). Anything is possible.
      I have a kind of scenario in my head which would end the war Kreese vs Miyagi/Daniel. And in it Robby has to end in such a fight to the death, not in a tournament. And for some reasons I think one of the goals of the Big 3 is to end this war who started in 1984. Kreese still blames Miyagi and Daniel for everything as we saw again in Season 5. "Miyagi and LaRusso took our chances away in 1984", thats what he said to Johnny. He cant let it go, Daniel and Miyagi are still his personal enemies, even if Miyagi is death.

I've considered doing this specifically for Burai (the original Green Ranger in Zyuranger that Tommy was based on), and was fortunate to have met JDF twice. I talked about it on a live when he passed and the VOD is still up if you want to check it out. Forever Green!

      @@StryfetheWarrior I'll take a look! And I miss him too. I look forward to seeing Legend of the White Dragon. Heavily recommend checking out the trailers for that.

      That's the generally accepted "fan name." The new official name is going to be revealed in Season 6.

      No, they don't. And they don't have hooks either, but that was me paraphrasing what Shannon said in S4E8 when talking about Silver treating Robby to prom: "I tried to talk to Robby, but this guy... he has his hooks in him."

    Here is the thing with Robby for me. I hated his guts from seasons 1-4 (until the moment with Johnny) and only praised him in rare moments if he was worthy. In season 5 I had much less to complain about but from hatred it became neutrality. When the fights at Silver's house/Dojo happened and there was that moment that both got hurt, for Johnny I was really concerned but for Robby it was like yeah so what. It didn't do anything to me, probably because I hated him for so long and now I couldn't care less about him. Maybe the same will happen to me with Sam in the final season. Until now Sam never gave me a reason to truly love her character she proved the opposite to me.

      @@StryfetheWarriorI mean I wasn't too fond of Robby in season 1-3 (especially in season 3), but my negative attitude towards him lessened somewhat I just can't ignore his actions in season 2 (especially with kicking Miguel over a balcony).
