I accidently walked in on a warm-up rehearsel at the old "Front Row Theater" I thought someone was playing his tune "What You won't do for love" on the intercom, but it was really he and his group, It sounded so much like the CD I was amazed! They never stopped singing even through my interruption, I told my sister who was there at the show with me, it was a meet and greet with the artist show, which at the time Boney James was his sax man before he left the group. That was a great show! but i've always known that Bobby was White, which was no big deal to me! R.I.P Bobby, won't be forgotten!

From The Jubalaires, Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin, Mahalia Jackson, Boston, George Benson, Bill Withers, Al Green, and then to any and all other genres. Bobby hit me deep down and it hurts to hear his music and think of how his end came.

I remember hearing the song What you won"t do for love!! I was 10 years old and fell in love with it! I saw him years later and he was white! It didn't matter! He had a lot of hits! He was soft spoken, talented, and sexy! He was just a phenomenon! Very intelligent! Yes, lots of artist sampled his work!! That comes to show the love he got! I was so sorry to hear how he passed away! I heard his wife talk about the sad way he dealt with his illness! She mentioned how romantic he was! A great man! She teared up on all the love Bobby received from his peers and everyone!! Those antibiotics can be dangerous! I work in healthcare! There's lots of side effects to a lot of them! Do your research and ask your doctor or pharmacist about the side effects! I'm sorry he went out like that!!! He will be missed!! Thanks for your content! I love it! 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Yes, when I was about 15 or 16 years old. I loved that song and still do. It's a great song!!!! I didn't know at the time he was white, definitely couldn't tell by his voice and the way he sang it!!!! I didn't find out for a while. I think I found out when I saw him on TV. I was pleasantly surprised and thought he was a great singer with a lot of soul. He sang the HELL out of that song. It's one of my favorites to this day!!! KUDOS TO YOU Bobby!!!! RIP BOBBY👍👏👏⭐️🏆🔥🔥🎉🎉🎉🎉🤍❤️🤍🙂

This was SO good! You did a great job on his story! You, along with his wife, should write that book and spearhead a movie about his life. That would be phenomenal!

Thank you for telling Bobby's story. What an amazing career he had. When he died, all I can remember him by was his song "What You Won't Do For Love". Like many others I too was shocked by the fact that he was white. But even still he made some really good music and for that, I thank him for his contributions to the industry.

OMG, I’m watching this and totally immersed into the story. I’m relating to a white sounding like a black man. I once sang Barry Whites, Can’t get enough and afterwards a black couple told me I aught to change my name to Barely White😅 That’s a hell of a great compliment.
As the story goes on, I’m freaking because the part about his Achilles tendon sounds identical to my current issue. Additionally the pain in my fingers and the difficulty that presents sometimes even holding a mic. I’m careful to avoid things that irritate those health problems. I have good days and bad days.
Thank you for bringing his story to us. As for me, I’ll look into those medications and see if I’ve used them. Ironically I came here because I needed to know more about Bobby and What you won’t do for love, before I sing it.
I almost feel that Bobby passed the relay baton to me and all that heard his message to ask ourselves the question about what we’re willing to do for love?

I was caught completely by surprise when I heard the news that Bobby Caldwell had passed.
The last time I went to his live performance, his leaving us never crossed my mind.
    RIP, Bobby Caldwell
