This was great. I grew up on R&B with old school artists who were absolutely the bomb. After that era's time, I didn't know if that old school R&B sound could ever be duplicated or heard again. I remember the first time that I heard 'Let Me Know' by After 7. Oh my God, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven and was hanging out with those old school R&B masters. All three members had great voices. But Melvin was the one who did it for me. I thought that David Ruffin had literally reincarnated himself through Melvin. I couldn't get enough of After 7 after that. Of course, Melvin's passing broke my heart. But we still have their music around to listen to. ❤

Melvin and Kevon are two of the greatest voices in our demographic of men born of boomer generation. But it's extremely true Melvin is irreplaceable it's very difficult to describe how great his voice was as a singer. Yet Melvin,Kevon,and Kenny are beyond great Kevon's pitch clearness and Melvin' s tone riffs emotion to the vocal he was simply unbelievable he can't be replace.

Sad 😥 how these young blood brothers the EDMONDS, lost their Father at young ages, so much credit goes to their now late Mother, for a woman to raise her children alone and obviously did an amazing job at it is beyond words, the talent of the brothers who chose a career in music is so great, of course Kenneth Edmonds became the first Super 🌟 Star of all of his brothers, composer, singer, producer instrumentalist WOW, later he would produce and work with his DYNAMIC BROTHERS KEVAN, MELVIN AND A THIRD MEMBER KEITH, sorry Melvin had a struggle with substance abuse😔, however his voice was Golden in every way imaginable, every song they recorded as AFTER 7 was pure CLASSIC much love to their late Mother, whom brought such beautiful sons into this world with talent beyond words, love them all 🥰, seen them in concert in My hometown of Buffalo, NY in the year of 2007, they're Dynamic, KEVAN brought the audience to their feet, and he left the stage literally touching some of the people he was able to reach, that was very nice, sadly MELVIN was no longer touring with them😔.

I’ve always loved After 7. I remember the Ebony magazine interview where Babyface said the Melvin had the best voice in the family. I could tell the admiration and love he had for his big brother. Along with the cause of his death, I never saw anything about Melvin’s funeral either. RIP to a truly gifted singer.
