Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye's Duets are and will always be timeless!! RIP to both Tammi and Marvin
Tammi and Marvin's duet is arguably the greatest of all time, you can say Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warren Johnny Cash and June Carter, irregardless you can argue the point that it's Marvin and Tammi and they'll have to take heed. Definitely in the top five.
I. Love. Them. Both. Marvin ,@. Tammie 💋💋🌹🌹💚💚🙏🙏🎆💙💐🥰💜💯😍😳👍👍😍🤩💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍❤️🧡💖💕💟💋💋🙏🙏

She did so much in her short 24 years of life ❤️🙏🏾
Right. I had no idea she was so young when she passed away.
*She* sure did... likely to Biggie, who was 24 too when he passed away; Tupac was 25. Young & *Very Productive!* Teetering on Prodigies!
Crazy how people Keep lining up to get used And Abused by the entertainment Industry 🤦🏾♀️
Tammi Terrell biggie smalls and Tupac died way too young they supposed to still be living but sometimes people life gets sacrificed cuz of the music business and it never should be that serious because it's just music and something to make you feel good something to move you not something that supposed to kill you in your life. And give you inspiration 😭😭😭💔💔😇😇😇😇😥😥😢😢☹️☹️☹️😒😒
@@monicamariamclean2198 True the entertainment Industry is a dirty game
YES! Taraji P. Henson would be perfect for the role of Tammy Terrell in a biopic! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one thinking that!
I agree with you wholeheartedly 💕💗✨💫
Exactly because she looks exactly like her too
@@goddessofpeacelove5341 i agree with you too she looks like her too
Agreed! and Taraji can sing !
Taraji resembles her and a young Ruby Dee. She should play both in a biopic.
When Marvin lost her, he lost himself and never recovered
I agree he never was the same after her death.
Exactly unfortunately yes Marvin did. 😔 Tammi & Marvin they made a nice couple. Together for eternity.
Sad but true don’t ever regret and never neglect your friends
I think he was in love with her or loved her dearly.
@@nicoleharrington9086 I will always believe that Marvin was in love with Tammi. When she got so sick and when she passed away, Marvin was broken after that unfortunately. 🫶🏽🤍💔
The year after Tammi passed away Marvin blessed us with What’s Going On which is the greatest album I’ve ever heard 🙏🏼
Facts 💯 definitely a classic.
Yes indeed he loved tammi she was everything too him
FACTS
@The Spreadluv Movement ..or at least one of them. imo
Absolutely 💯
She was so beautiful and talented. She can really sing. One of my favorite duo was Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye. Shame on James Brown and David Ruffin on how they treated her. RIP Tammi Terrell 💗🤩
so beautiful and sad at the same time all those artists bac then had real life problems and pain past and present they gave us sum of the deepest and most life teaching/changing music because it's all they knew no matter how rich or famous they became that shit mind blowing
Sure was a ledgend 🥰
@@DomGio the entertainment world can be so messed up and treacherous on so many levels, nobody in their right mind would stand there and watch a woman get beaten bloody. James and David were insane, look at how DR was beaten to death in a crackhouse and taken out then left to die in an alley; look at the clown show JB's death and internment was setting in a morgue for month or more, he definitely didn't get the star studded send off he deserved for all he did for the music industry, just got put away like a regular schmuck. Karma is a bitch. RIP TAMMY, them shyyt eaters can't hurt you any more.
I agree they treated her both terrible
As a kid, I never understood why my mom couldn’t stand James Brown and as I got older now I know. She was disgusted how much the Black community honored him and gave him tributes at The BET Awards etc. We always praise the problematic ones.
When R Kelly went to jail, I seen a lot of black people saying what about Elvis, well yes Elvis messed with underage girls also, however so did many black artists, but they don't want to hear that. I understand it was a different time back than and it wasn't really talked about, many of our grandmother's or great grandmother married at the age of 14. I have read in many books that James Brown was abusive to women.
Thank you👌🏾
Because he was abusive to her. Her mother was toxic person who should not be a parent.
The reason Tammi and Marvin were so close is because they WERE NOT A COUPLE. They were not each other's type like that. Marvin did not like independent, smart-mouthed women and Tammi was more into bad boys with confidence. Marvin was too insecure and sensitive for her. This is what people fail to understand. Everybody thinks they were in love with each other because they looked and sounded good together and had performance chemistry. Marvin said it many times in interviews and Marvin had his faults, but he was brutally honest about his life and how he felt about people.
Its the first line for me!
Exactly they were platonic friends
Monila Ninetynine Got news for ya... don't no man, REAL man, want a smart-mouthed and independent female. Certain guys just settle, that's all.
they irony is that they comforted each other and complimented each other, remember she was 24 and yk that nice guys like Marvin finish last.If she wanted to heal it would be Marvin but as we seen from the incident after age 11 she was attracted to things that damned her
@@keystonestatewarrior3358 don't virtue signal lol keep in mind that a context like that would balance out Marvin because his dad abused him and she'd influence him not to take any nonsense. Every man has a different dynamic lol don't make them less or real it jus pertains to child development. Keep in mind she on turned like that after trauma it wasn't the real her cuz you heard him say after the r*pe at age 11 her mentality changed. She was basically like those rescued dogs that are soo shook that they take a while to warm up to humans again " her smart mouth/independance " could be a coping mechanism to TEST the man she was dealing with but if you can read between it or look past it yk is a front or sumin she picked up from dealing with certain characters
she could be independent which is good cuz you should have seen how bad boys did Billie Holiday and left her broke and if she was gonna have her heart broken at least her bank ain't broke would be safe from addicts
A biopic on Tammi Terrell would be very interesting
Yep!! I thought Taraji P. Henson could pull off playing Tammi!!
I would love to see that
@@kelvendyson1508 they look like as well
@@kelvendyson1508 taraji does favor her, but she's too seasoned to play her now, but 15 or 20 yrs ago she would have been perfect.
Yes we need this.
Tammi Terrell was one of those singers from that era that had the "it" factor. She was the total package prior to her untimely passing.
Totally agreeing this! 👍
It's sad that motown records just forgotten so much about her just as soon as she pass
per her sister's book, maybe even b4 she passed away; liken to Florence Ballard, how she was reportedly treated at/by Motown brass. 😞

Her pairing with Marvin Gaye was a total success! She also, a beauty and great singer was never UNSUNG and UNDERRATED. She and Marvin had many hits.
@@michellekirkendall818 I concur. They named the TV show that: #Unsung
I was molested at a young age and despite my parents seeking therapy for me I changed. I was into boys at a very young age. As of today I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder which may have resulted from that along with other things from my past. I'm happy that I'm finally being treated for it. Rest in peace Ms. Terrell
But people who been raped or molested are just to comfortable and they can push everybody away from them which is sad
@@Karl671 First, I'm sorry for the horror you experienced. Second, I am glad you are getting the help you need. It's not always easy for people to navigate life, especially after deep trauma.

It didn't change me. I wasn't wild or into boys. I played with dolls & read books before I was sexually assaulted as a child and I played with dolls and read books afterwards. I wanted my pain to stop so I told. It stopped. I have suffered emotionally for decades but I was never wild or overly sexual.

Those kind of people tend to do a lot in their short lives because they don't have time to waste. So they have completed a lot of assignments is a short period of time.🙏🏾
I would say that sometimes when people experience that kind of s. a., the trauma unleashes something in them that might not be unleashed otherwise. She suffered so much. RIP Tammi.
Very true. I have heard some stories from people who experienced that. It messes with the soul exponentially.
It really does changes us 😭 I can’t help cry

@@aarondigby5054 that’s true
Did she hide it as it seems yes her fellow performers knew about it,saw it as many saw how Aretha ex would even beat her while on stage,in the studio around musicians . Outside of these spaces very few knew fan’s only knew decades later about these famous men and others who were abusive. That includes sadly Marvin and his messing with young minor teen,Annal’s niece he impregnated,Janice and also the physical abuse of her.
I'm upset with James Brown and those men who didn't check him for beating her.
Yeah I never knew that about him and fuck James brown. Black Men were oppressed by racism back then, & oppressed black women as a result. Real life Monsters !
On TV One's Unsung, Gene Chandler admitted to witnessing James Brown 'beating her after coming offstage all the way down to his dressing room". Had my father witnessed that , he would've torn James Brown out of the frame, even if it meant that both of them (he and James) were torn up...
Word was that for years Marvin didn’t even wanna be in the same room as James cause he was afraid he would “kill him” over Tammi.
James Brown was a woman beater too.
I’m not paying $85 for a book.
Tammi’s parents pretty much sold her to James Brown. History definitely be repeating itself.

A talented, tormented beauty. Gone far too soon. May she be at peace.
Greetings from The UK. I feel so sad for this beautiful lady, because as a fellow Migraine sufferer, i can totally relate to her anguish. May she and her dear sister, who were both taken from us way too soon, rest in peace and thank you for gifting us your lovely songs. Thank you also to the narrator, for recounting her story in a most pleasant and respectful way. xxxxx ...... Incidentally, my Migraines always start in my right eye and as long as i immediately take a Rizatriptan tablet, it stops it from progressing. However, if it starts in my sleep, i wake up in agony and no amount of tablets will shift it and it gets worse and worse as the day wears on. After about 10 hours of my right eye being all puffed up in agony and constantly watering very badly and me being rendered bedbound, it eventually stars to fade. Sometimes i don't get another one for weeks or months, then other times, i get a cycle of them for the rest of that week and they totally debilitate me. As a precaution, i always carry my Triptan tablets in my handbag, just in case i get an attack while i am out shopping etc ... I am 60 years old now and i have been crippled by these horrid headaches since i was 18 years old, but apart from this affliction, thankfully, i am in great physical health for my age.
Please stay prayerful daily I hope you can get better.

In regards to a Marvin Gaye biopic, there was one that was partially filmed but never released. It's called Sexual Healing, and stars Jessie L. Martin from Rent and was supposed to focus on his later life when he was living overseas, his drug addiction, and the creation of his Midnight Love album. His estate was completely against from the beginning so they couldn't get the rights to the music and they couldn't secure full funding so it went unfinished. There's 4 minutes of it on RUclips.

It's irritates me that no one took her complaints about her health seriously which is huge problem for women but especially Black women. I am sure that if they had, she would probably be alive.
True. Maybe they could have caught it a lot sooner and stopped it from spreading? Who knows. But also, the latest technology of the time wasn't advanced to where it is today. Regina Belle survived her brain tumor surgery and never had any reoccurring growth that I know about.
