    Tonight, I discovered your tutorials and just watched and enjoyed both Summit 4.1 and Summit 4.2. You make long but excellent tutorials. I like your teaching style and pacing; you are clear, thorough and methodical. Thank you for taking the time to create these tutorials. For Summit 4.1 Character Rigging, I particularly appreciated the step-by-step demonstration of your Illustrator to Photoshop to AfterEffects workflow. Thanks again.

    You can also hold alt and click between two layers to make the layer on the top only show where there's something in the bottom layer. It's like a mask, but you can always change de bottom layer and the top one will follow the changes. It also doesn't increase the file size too much as layers do. Btw, thank you for you videos

    Great tutorial :), On photoshop when you copy and paste the effect on a layer (drop shadow effect) you can also, drag the Fx with ALT and release it in the next layer and it is faster ;)

    • @justinhardcastle5825
      @justinhardcastle5825 7 лет назад

      You can also select all the layers and right click then do the "Paste Layer Effect".

    Great tutorial, with every detail well explained. Sometimes I feel that other tutorials assume that we know these little tricks and just skip on ahead. The scaler tip has made my day!!! That will save me so much time! Thank you for a great (and funny) tutorial!

  • @milenatos

    Nice tut, thanks for uploading :) One suggestion on how to make a paper (or whichever) texture waaay faster: Take your paper layer (or any image or texture), select with ctrl+a or select the area with rectangle, go edit->define pattern (name it somehow). Go any layer, open layer style (from the menu or faster double click on layer) go on pattern overlay section, select the pattern you previously created, set the opacity you like and voila :) Then copy layer style to each layer- one tip, you can select all layers and paste the layer style to all at once :) Hope I didn't wrote it confusing. Cheers!

    Nice tut. As a slight change, the back arm should be darker than the front because the back arm is going to be shaded by the shoulder and body. The front arm has direct light. Just a suggestion. Also, instead of making masks for each texture, take a look at clipping paths.

    • @caiofernando
      @caiofernando 10 лет назад

      The back arm should be DARKER you mean, right?

    • @bdubya
      @bdubya 10 лет назад

      Caio Xavier Yes, DARKER. I have no idea why I typed "lighter". I should proofread a little more before posting. At least my explanation made enough sense that you were able to pick up on my mistake. Thanks.

    Love how you say 'this may not be you throw a like up for' right after I liked it. Dude, quit demoralizing yourself, you are doing great. Though as a question, do you have to draw the character with perspective, like you have done, or could I draw the character front on and still make a pretty good animation?

    Alright, quick question. Doesn't Photoshop rasterize your character when importing from Illustrator? If that's the case, it isn't better to keep your character in vectors when redimensioning in After Effects?
