- I LOVE this Ebike... but Cars Don’t! - WHY? DYU King 750 Review
This is the DYU King 750 - a fantastic 750 watt fat tyre ebike with great spec - hydraulic brakes, torque sensor, huge battery and great range and a nice top speed. But why don’t cars seem to like this electric bike? With it's large frame and 26 inch fat tyres I would think this electric bike would be very noticeable but maybe it was just an 'unlucky' day.

Here in Cardiff were i live the police are really clamping down on ebikes.Just this weekend they confiscated over 30.I think ebike makers should concentrate on making more stealthy ebikes so the police cant tell the difference
They need to add a tiny hidden switch you can flick to get the bike to UK legal.
Really I lives in Cardiff n was thinking of getting one for delivery
Perfect camo, carry a donor card.
Predominantly matt black, grey sky coloured top, even the white trainers similate white lines and deceptive speed.
A little flashing orange LED would draw the eye and make them think.
At the moment they just see a bike and assume, and on second look are suprised your upon them with very little visible effort.

@@e-VRC you need to be wearing hi viz mate. Orange vest with long sleeves most visible, not expensive. And yes, daytime running lights.
I always wear a bright colour top or jacket or yellow vest when riding, It's amazing how a cyclist can vanish in the shade of a roadside tree from a car drivers perspective, be seen be safe. Cyclists wearing all black are a danger to themselves and other road users. Bright colours on the crash helmet help too. Great channel.
Often see two people going along a dimly lit very busy road near me on electric unicycles wearing black at night with no lights, they must be crazy!

I wear a high vis jacket on any 2 wheeled vehicle as well as have some flashing lights on the front and back of the bike and a steady light as well.
I saw you reviewed the Engwe E26 also. Is there a preference between these two bikes? What sets them apart?
Good review of the bike just makes my decision on what to buy even harder

@garryclarke-kray4071 great bike. King is faster and higher spec but L20 is relaxing, useful, rear lights and classed as 250w.
Riding on pavement or asphalt pretty much all the time you would get better range if you opted for the 3 in semi fat tires with Road tread as they still offer a lot of stability and augment its suspension but aren't as unstable and impact-resistant as the skinny road tires on racing bikes and I really like that approach 4 Hard Road commutes and I'm hoping it catches on with all the manufacturers because I only know of one eBike company that does that and now they're doing a mid Drive so that may be my next bike
Has any one in the UK managed to find a luggage rack\carrier to fit this as mine is being Delivered next week.

I don't understand why they make ebikes what don't get the rider up hills. That's why two of my bikes are mid-drives with big batteries because of my hip replacement and osteoporosis walking is hard for me on the best of days
They do get you up hills but you also need to put in a decent amount of your own effort. I'd say actual 250w bikes remove 70% of the effort required if you didn't have a motor at all.
Need a hi-vis jacket ideally. I used to have a bright yellow waterproof a reflective band and lights on the handle bars and reglective strips on the gloves. Youve got to be visible on the bike. Car drivers dont look out for cyclists. If you look like a cop at first look drivers treat you with alot more respect.

Cheers! I use a few things. A Ulanzi super clamp - it's not good enough to keep it up. So I got another one and attached it to another grippy hand so it's double sided. I attach one side to the selfie stick and the other end to somewhere else on the bike to hold up the stick.

Can anyone help me de-restrict the speed of my Ebike please?
Whether you can or not depends on the model of ebike you have. Google "how to unlimit the speed of my -insert exact brand and model of your ebike-?" and if its possible you should get hits.
Some manufacturers post this information themselves on their websites. For example I think Engwe have instructions on their site which apply to their specific bikes.
If you do unrestrict your ebike then please ride safely, wear hi-vis and a helmet and don't go over 20mph on the roads would be my advice.
I try to not pedal when I see a car so I look more like a bike lol
mine wont turn on now , full battery , less than 30 miles and maybe 2 weeks old , stumped !

@@e-VRC when you ride a motorcycle it does not matter. Please be honest, you want to ride an unregulated motorcycle. If you want to campaign for a new definition for a motor vehicle that is fine but please don’t attach it to power assist pedal cycles. If it has a throttle it is a motor vehicle.

Buying an E-Bike up my way (Aberdeen) to get a comfortable climber without a mountain bike is well in excess of £2.5 grand which to me is what I need but its too costly on my meager salary from the Government (Pensioner).
What models have interested you? Engine X from engwe is certified as 250w but climbs great especially if you can help a bit.
And this one of course but it's more expensive.
Why do you think so many cars didn't see me during the test ride? And I mean compared to normally. I always wear these colours but on this bike in particular people were being a bit blind.
Just a bad day? Colour of the bike? Speed/acceleration?

Bit of speed and you're in trouble, even riding a normal bike at high speed on flats can lead to drivers totally under estimating your speed and trying to pull out. The expectation of a lot of drivers is every person on the road using a bicycle is moving at 8mph.

Googled the fastest legal motorbike that can be used on UK roads and it's the MTT Turbine Superbike Y2K - 250 Mph. (ofc 250 is well above the top speed legal on UK roads)
So tax, insurance, licence aside why are motorbikes not limited in speed like e-bikes?
You could theoretically fit the required additional equipment any get it registered as a moped. HOWEVER, not only would getting it insured be difficult, but the premium of likely £300+ takes it well out of the fun on nice summer days, recreational use category. Who is happy to pay 30 per month for a cycle you might use occasionally??? The green lobby in London, thinks this is ok to pay, since they expect it to replace your car…Well it is NOT ok, and I am not trading my car for an e-bike…We should have both if we want!

Haha. I had a 1996 Z28 once and it was a nightmare not being able to get car park tickets and drive thru 😂😂
The Cyrusher XF800 has the same spec and performance. 750w and 80NM torque….I did have to adjust the wheel size in the computer a more accurate 28” which dropped the displayed speed to an accurate 27 mph on the flat. Then I set the speed cut out to the legal limit of 15.5 mph. However, it is still technically illegal on the road…so I’ve chickened out and not used it after the first 200 miles because the fines can add up to £5000 and six Licence points. Since I’m overweight and getting old, and we have some hills…a 250w bike is totally of no use to me. The law has effectively stopped me cycling at all.
You ain't gonna get stopped on it man. And if they tested it and saw it stopped at 15mph then you'd have no problems.
Yeah if your speed cuts at 15.5 then yes the bike is still technically illegal but there's about 0.01% chance you get stopped on it. It would take a very angry PC to punish you over it if they did stop you.
But how are the police supposed to ascertain whether it has the legal speed limit baked in? Maybe just put a sticker on lol, I can’t imagine they’d have a way of testing that…
@@imperialsecuritybureau6037 unless they physically see somebody speeding down the road at like 30mph without pedalling I doubt there's really anything they can do. most police forces are well aware of the surron e-bikes but that's about as much as they know.

Not always. Legally you're allowed a walk mode on throttle. No faster than 3mph I believe. Ashley neal showed a bike with that feature.
@simplexicated yeah its 6kph i think so about 4-5. They're actually really handy e.g. at lights and roundabouts and I wish all ebikes would use it. The Eskuta SX-250 has one in the form of a button.

Yet ebikes have draconian measures strangling the industry, I'll be dead before the UK sorts out some kind of tiered system for EVs.

Nobody with an ebike actually runs it at 15.5mph. 95% are hacked or derestricted.
You are illegally riding an unregistered and uninsured moped on the highway without the correct head protection. You could have your drivers license endorsed or be banned from driving for this. It would be better for society if you were sanctioned before you have an accident and injure someone or worse with no insurance cover for compensation. This model of e-bike is sold exclusively for use on private roads or off road. Be a responsible grown up and don’t encourage others to follow your bad example.
You don't need a helmet or anything else. Read the constitution.

Would just like to say that you can do 20mph on a non electric push bike, the law is unfit for purpose and the courts will reflect this if it goes that far
@@lindman399 the law is an ass, but, it's what the Police will use to prosecute you with and the Courts are already enforcing these rules. Ride sensibly, wear a helmet and gloves.

What counts as an EAPC?
An EAPC must have pedals that can be used to propel it.
It must show either:
the power output
the manufacturer of the motor
It must also show either:
the battery’s voltage
the maximum speed of the bike
Its electric motor:
must have a maximum power output of 250 watts
should not be able to propel the bike when it’s travelling more than 15.5mph
An EAPC can have more than 2 wheels (for example, a tricycle).
So the only people who benefit are fitties who don’t need a powered cycle. Fat, old, unfit, damaged people who can’t peddle any sense and who have hills to contend with are wasting their money on 250w lame epacs. The law has taken cycling out of the reach of a great many who could enjoy getting out, but need a much bigger motor to climb gradients and Throttle to maintain motion.

I totally agree, the law is wrong. I have a Jorvik trike. A hill start at a busy junction is amost impossible and potentially dangerous. I am 73 years old.@@contessa.adella
