They are the extension between you and your drums. When you set up your toms and cymbals, the distance depends on the length of the stick. If you don't get good rebound from it, it can really mess up your playing and sound. It might sound pretentious but it's so so important to get a good quality pair of sticks!

My fav way of controlling kick drums of any sizem, is to use 2 mics. Put the inside one as close to the beating head as possible without being hit (I like a Beta 91) and put a oow cut on it at around 1500Hz. Then an outside mic about 5-10cm from the reso hèad (my fav is a Sennheiser e602) and put on a high cut at around 120Hz.
Depending on drums and taste, play around with the cutoff frequencies and even the mics...

I've been a huge fan of Jay's sound and mix over Joey's since his departure from the band. But, Joey's chops and his snare pretty much can't be rivaled! Not saying Jay's chops aren't phenomenal but there was that little bit of extra sauce with Joey's chops. All in all both are/were incredible drummers and easily the perfect Slipknot drummer/s!

It's crazy how the industry works.. when you're a struggling drummer barely making or struggling musician in general you gotta buy everything and companies want nothing to do with you. But when you "made it" you literally get everything handed to you for free and boutique drum companies will go above and beyond to give you their stuff for free and make sure you are taken care of.

that's when you're the 1% of the 1% . Gotta earn it . Takes years and years . No one is doing music in hopes of getting free gear . We just do it because we love it

Yeah that's called advertising. This company gave away 1 kit. Will probably sell 50 off the back of this video alone. If they just gave 50 unknown musicians free kits .... they just lost 50 kits because they'll sell no extras because of it

That’s actually not true. They don’t just get free gear as you’d like to think. They do get some discounts or get some loaner stuff and a freebie here and there, free gear NOT
