Jordison was “the” drummer that really paved the way for a new generation of metal drummers. He was fast, creative, had stage presence, and was just fun to watch. He was not the best drummer of the world because there is no “best drummer” in the world, only favorites. But this man right here is a legend, he took Slipknot on a whole other level, sadly, his own brothers tossed him aside. Long live Joy Jordison!

When it came to Joey for me it wasn’t just his drum playing which was incredible to watch. It was also his stage presence of going crazy like no other drummer, his talent as a musician as a whole with everything he did with Slipknot and outside of Slipknot. The guy just wouldn’t stop. He was my favorite musician while he was alive and no other musician has filled that spot for me since he was gone.

I’ve waited almost 20 yrs for this. That kit, 3 albums of those songs, that setlist. I don’t know where this came from but I’m damn happy I can finally watch this & see how the magic happened. After watching, he’s phrasing things so differently, it feels like this is early in that tour cycle & some of those songs only have been played a couple times live. He’s experimenting a lot w/ different fills & patterns.
The is the best thing I’ve seen slipknot related ever. Don’t listen to them that much ahymore since my dear mate Joey passed. Seen them live 3 weeks ago and it wasn’t the same. Me and Joey hung out a few times in 2011. If there’s ever been in any doubt about who’s Slipknots best drummer is this should clear it up. Rest in peace dear legend/friend. You’re missed
He was an animal on the kit. Often imitated, but he will NEVER be duplicated. Raw power and intensity. I don’t give a SHIT how many Eloy fanboys claim otherwise. His form, his energy, it’s absolute perfection. 🔥 I feel blessed to have witnessed him live on this tour during one of the first few shows. (St.Paul). Amazing memories. 🥲

the windmill head bang during purity at 31:55 and 34:54 was extremely rare during the vol 3 era. this brought me to tears seeing this.
