honestly, FX30 hands down for me. S35=movies to my brain. And I love all the fast cheap(er) glass you can get. But to each his/her own! All great cameras!

Problem is, the fx30 sensor is nowhere near the quality of the fx3/6. It's a 48mp quad bayer filter sensor with ridiculous electronics.
One place I can tell an immediate difference is in the colors

@@shueibdahiryeah I’m not seeing that. But then again I don’t care about base image as much as I heavily grade everything as I’m in the commercial space.

For me, if the FX30 came out before the FX3, I would’t had bothered with the FX3. I already had over 10 crop lenses including primes, the process to switch to full frame was ridiculously expensive.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the FX3 and it really comes into its on with low light situations. But I can’t help but think about all that money I could’ve saved 😢

I went with Fx3 because of ibis, Fx3 is more practical for what I do and much more versatile. With the money saved you can buy a vnd system to make up for the internal nd and have money left over for a lens.

I really couldn’t agree with you more. The only time we like to use the FX6 is in the studio or for static interviews. The FX3 is just so much more versatile with the IBIS as you say. I would even go as far to say that I would advise people to get the FX3 over the FX6 and do exactly what you did.
May I ask what VND system did you go for?

wait if you have your fx3 and fx6 in the shot. what camera are you using to film this video?

Well spotted, we actually have two FX3 cameras plus an A7C for the top down shot 👍

I appreciate the review thank you. My reflex of these two would be the FX3, however, being that I would also like to do virtual production on occasion I would think the FX6 would be a better choice with the SDI ports not mentioned. What are your thoughts for occasional virtual production between these two? Thank you again.

Thank you Eric, I appreciate your comment. Whenever we’ve done anything around event coverage, we use the FX6. And yes, the SDI ports and other higher production features this offers would be great for virtual productions. Although the FX3 has HDMI out, that’s all you have, plus, depending how long you expect virtual productions to last, you may run into battery issues in the FX3, where the FX6 would be fine. So, if you’ve got the budget, FX6 👍

definitively the fx6, once you've tried them both the choice is easy. (as documentary maker)

I can see why you’d favour the FX6, it’s perfect for documentary filming and if we were doing those, I’d reach for it every time. Thanks for watching 🙌

Ive rigged my fx3 with a monitor and rigged it out with rails and have been asked by people if I was working for the news station.... I added the small rig battery and my fx3 is a beast now. I won't be updating it to the new firmware update giving it shutter angle, because The last update on my a7siii ruined my bluetooth...

      @Pulse8Reviews  4 месяца назад +1

That’s so funny to hear, well worth rigging it out then. We’ll thinking about doing the same for both ours, although it’ll be a little expensive for two when we have the FX6. Agree, I’ve heard that about the Bluetooth. I always say unless there’s a feature now available or it’s the old saying, if it’s not broken and all that 😆

@@Pulse8Reviews I'm definitely gonna wait and just see what Sonys next step is ... I want to see a fx6 that has way more codec options including Sony's version of raw.. I'd like to see a 4k down sampled from a 6k sensor, keep the internal ND , also ! The Audio options on the current fx6 are weird.. You have to have the top handle on for audio .. There should be a 31/2 jack for basic audio on the body ... I think the fx6 has a better image then the fx3 not as crunchy ... Right now I am invested in Sony Glass so it's hard to leave ... Nikon with Red is gonna be interesting for years to come .. Also I wish I picked up a black magic 6k when it was 1,000 off! So much gear so little money

It comes with no surprise that I agree with everything you said about the FX6, better audio connections without the handle would be a great start, throw in 6k over sampling, we’re onto a winner 🙌. Also same as you, too much glass invested in the Sony range 🤦‍♂️

@@Pulse8Reviews The FX6 is a more professional camera, full size XLR’s,variable ND,Easy access to settings,SDI ,Time Code,Memory cards, compact size ,very reliable and a workhorse.Don’t get me wrong the FX 3 is a great camera, and offers similar picture quality in certain circumstances it’s just not in the same league.
