Couple other things worth mentioning: 1. FX6 isn't supported by DJI RS2/3 and will probably never be at this point. No rec control, no iris, nothing. FX3 works just fine. 2. Fx3..i shoot with my Sony a7iv right now.. The chances of getting on Netflix is pretty much zero anyway unless you have a lawyer or representative to get you in front of the executives... And If you are going to do a Netflix show they pretty much have their own production and cameras anyways.. at the beginning it was a little easier for Netflix but it's basically become another studio and a pipe dream for most.. I worked on a Netflix show and I talked to the producer.. he said pretty much there's almost zero chance unless you have to representative or lawyer.. Or it better be damn good with big names attached.. essentially going back to the old Hollywood way.. Amazon prime will take anything pretty much though.
Good tips. I havvent seen anyone in dozens of channels mention anything other than Netflix. Amazon prime is good to know for many. I guess there are Roku,Tubi,Apple films being made etc etc
I’m a comedian and am torn between the A7Siii and FX3. I primarily will stick it on a tripod and film myself in comedy clubs (low light) 4K 24 perhaps as long as 30-45 minutes. Is it possible that the A7Siii will overheat? The FX3 has an internal fan and that’s the only thing making me second guess myself.
The a7siii does over heat in higher frame rates. But if you shooting the way your saying you should be able to shoot no problem for hours with no issues unless your in a room that's insanely warm. Make sure to keep the screen flipped out so the heat can dissipate from the body.
I have a Canon 5d mrk4 ... I want to switch for low light video and stills.... but I still don't know which to get A7iv or Fx3 because I want to do both....
I don't agree. Sony a7siii never overheated even filming for 40min+. It was cheaper in my country 3500 while fx3 4200 so the k3m was also cheaper to buy Big dislike
I’ve owned an FX3 for a year and have shot a ton on it i.e. short films, music videos, and commercial work. My biggest and probably only gripe about it is that it doesn’t have internal ND. Not sure why everyone constantly complains about shutter angle, just learn the conversions from shutter speed and it’s essentially the same thing. Cheers!
Impressive review. But CFexpress type B has like more than double read/write speeds of the new, tiny CFexpress type A if you check the market, and probably cheaper overall. But CFexpress type A right now is using PCIe 3.0 which becoming ancient now and maybe going to 5.0 now or at least PCIe 4.0 would make it 2-4x faster so it might be the smarter form factor in the long run. If I have the budget I think an FX6 + Sony a1 would be the dream combo.
FX9 cards are XQD not CFexpress Type B. Yes they use the same connector and form factor, but the FX9 doesn’t support Type B and XQD has limited speed in comparison to Type B, so the point I was trying to make still stands. Thanks for watching Jake

Used to own a Red and now I have an A6700 lol. I prefer it in almost all ways.
Awesome Video mate, but I would strongly disagree that you can charge more with an FX-6.
Shutter angle coming to fx3 as well
The FX3 needs a waveform!
Thank you very much for the comparison of the four camera types. I would go for the FX6. One question: What are the dimensions of the image sensor of the FX6? I know it is a 35-mm-CMOS but what is the horizontal lenght and the vertical hight? Thank you.
No love for the more detailed image of the a7iv?
Would it be possible for them to update the fx6 to shoot opengate? Are there any technical limitations or they just don't want us to have it?
I think the only way is to shoot using pro res raw. Then you’ll get the full sensor. Update to firmware 2.
Make sure to keep the screen flipped out so the heat can dissipate from the body.
my dream cameras
I have a Canon 5d mrk4 ... I want to switch for low light video and stills.... but I still don't know which to get A7iv or Fx3 because I want to do both....
I don't agree. Sony a7siii never overheated even filming for 40min+. It was cheaper in my country 3500 while fx3 4200 so the k3m was also cheaper to buy
Big dislike
I got a fx6 and is looking for a B camera for it but it’s hard to pick between the fx3 or the a7s3
Cheers!
They coplain about shutter angle because it is a basic feature any „cinema line“ cqmera should have.
@@andersistbesser I get that but it literally wouldn’t change anything about using the camera. But that’s just my 2 cents
3:14 with the mic which isn’t included in the fx3
Sony will release this year an additional Cine Camera. Most likely the FX9 II. So be aware of it.
Can't find the FX6 anywhere in stock.
An interesting comparison, but it makes me wonder about a used FS7ii.
do you feel that beside the sensor FX3 and FX30 has a significant difference between these 2 cameras?
dual iso on fx30 is 800 | 2500 whereas on the fx3 800 | 12800 therefore, the fx3 is fantastic if you do low light shoots.
me watching this video with 20,69$ in my bank account
Wonder why fx6 doesn't have the clean display option where all info are on the top and bottom?
I going to get the FX9 for my Instageam food photography account!
Thank you for making such an informative video.
Thanks for watching Christopher! Jake
What resolution is cinema running these days? just sticking to 4k because of streaming services? I suppose 4096 4k, not monitor 3840
Which is better at low light situations fx3 or fx6 ??
This is an amaxing sony cinema cameras review
Fx6 (if i could buy one) just for the ND. Bought the A7SIII over the FX3 for the evf.
Great explanation! We need an FX3 that has the built in VND. Call it the FX4!
Unlikely. Internal NDsneed space. At least 2x times the FF Sensor.
Nice comparison. I'd like to see a Nikon Z9 review
Focus breathing compensation and animal eye af in video mode
FX3 Clear Scan, Shutter Angle (especially for 24p 172,6°), better File Name Handling
File name handling is a good shout! Jake
Beautiful thumbnail!
@@CVPTV Thanks a lot, Jake. Never knew about that. Warm regards.
I already have 2 Zeiss Batis lenses: 85mm & 25mm. As well as the Tilta FX Lightweight Kit for the FX 3.
This is all I need for my online setup and to take the occasional pictures.
I am getting the FX3, but will like more megapixel in an FX3 mark ii upgrade.
Thanks for the video.
FX3, FX6 and FX9 are Netflix approved cameras.
That’s all you need to know.
Awesome Comparison! Thanks!
FX6 looks so good.
Are you going to review the Sony FX3 with V2.0 Firmware and its new Cine EI mode?
Does the FX3 have the same low light capabilities of the a7S III? Same question about the other two cameras.
Would be really great if I could actually find an FX6 to buy!
is fx3 or fx6 or a7s3 good in low light please?????????????
Yeah very, probably three of the best cameras you can buy if you need low light performance! Jake
Is Brentford based in London or Outside of London
What about the A1?
I think I need to be sent all four to try out to determine. :)
Excellent comparison. Thanks.
CVP has you can certainly say one of the best content creatives on their team. I regularly use their service for gear information.
What about the Sony a1?
so you say that fx3 and fx6 use the same sensor and when i shoot raw i get the same look from both of them?
in my country a7siii vs. fx3 is a 1k euro difference, so i will probably go with the a7s iii
for vlogging in RUclips which camera would you recommend, Between Sony A7 IV or Sony FX30.
Or do you have any personal favourite camera for Vlogging in RUclips
So where does the A1 slot into this range?
