Just buy the AMG 6.3 if you're going to go that far. If you really like Ford then get the Flex with Ecoboost but that thing is only good in a straight line.

I've got the first generation Ford Edge. It's a actually a great crossover. My only major complaints are the breaks are two small and windshield glare.

The ST interior is nice but I've noticed that apart from the ST emblazoned seats, the interior is exactly the same as my mother's 2018 Edge Sport, which is surprising as I thought it would have been updated in some way. But hey, if it isn't broken don't fix it I guess.

I like the styling of these a lot for a crossover. My boy owns an Audi S4 and he knows i'm a huge Ford (mainly Mustang) fan so we're always bickering back and forth about what's better haha. So a titled video like this made me click instantly.

The "going a little bit further" you're describing sounds like a great spec for a future Edge RS.
I feel like not having a manual transmission kind of breaks the ST formula. Both the Fiesta and Focus ST are manual only, why shouldn't the Edge ST? Oh, I know why: "it's built for the American market and we also don't want to put in the time to engineer a whole new transmission because we don't have one that fits the Ecoboost because us Americans are lazy and won't buy it :("
THIS IS THE ONLY THING I WANT IN AN SUV OR TRUCK: A MANUAL OPTION THAT COMES WITH A DECEMT ENGINE. THAT IS HOW YOU GET CAR GUYS TO BUY YOUR SHIT.

Even though DCT is faster. For me at least I'd sacrifice speed for the actual feeling of going through the gears. I believe cars should be offered with both. To suit both crowds
@Stxn that is qualitative not quantitative, anyone with a right mind would race with an automatic. there is a stupid charisma to the manual when it comes to racing. A manual does make a weekend driver fun tho.

upshifting has been weird in edges for like a decade i own a 2011 for my daily drive and it upshifts weird when pulling up hills

It's a hell of an SUV, I used to sell Fords & out of all the SUVs it was without a doubt my favorite.
Explorer Sport, Escape, they have nothing on this and the price point isn't too far apart from one another.

Same here. Sold fords too.. Faves were the Edge Sport and the Flex Limited with the 3.5 ecoboost. Most comfortable and flat planted 3 row ive ever driven for sure.
Feel like we need a Flex ST...tune the ecoboost(400+hp), bigger breaks, suspension upgrade

I used to be a Holden fan, and i never thought id say this but, i think im now a Ford fan.
The 2.0 Eco motor, at least in 2016, had bad architecture between the cylinder head. Which inevitably led to the long block having to be replaced! As long as Ford has fixed that in the newer models, we love ours. It fits our family, dogs, tools, pretty much anything you throw at it (there are storage bays beneath the board in the back around the spare tire that are amazing). We really love taking it camping with some soft off roading to camp sites. The AWD system on it has worked flawlessly. We run the Michelin Defender on ours, and it drive like a car with size more comparable to an SUV.

I love the new ST but it doesn’t have enough power , that’s why I went with the Grand Cherokee SRT , I’m a true ford lover but I think they missed the boat on this one. Good looking SUV tho

I have the 2.7l Ecoboost (same engine as this) in my F150 and it’s badass. Actually beats the 3.5 Ecoboost and the 5.0 NA in a quarter mile (although the others win in too speed.) Because it’s a small engine the turbos spook up so quickly, so it’s really fun and responsive.
Spool not spook but I will keep the typo in the spirit of Halloween.

How about the 2.0L turbo Fusion that comes stock with around 17 psi of boost and 280 foot lbs?
nuclearjanitors i have a 2017 fusion with the 2.0, not to be anything special but it’s a fun affordable practical car. Numbers are 245hp and 275 ft lbs.. you really notice the torque like Nolan said if you keep it in the 3500 range.
@@taylorshane5302 i got my 2013 se 2.0 50xxx for 10 grand out the door. I did some work on it, a little under the hood and a little tune...don't have any concrete numbers to cite but its definetely noticeable. Not to mention it's a steel frame vehicle that weighs 3600 lb and fits all my dogs. I've been driving a 1988 5 L Bronco for the last 15 years so having something fast is nice.

it reminds me of Subaru's Forester. i think if as a guy who likes modding and going bit fast but needs a practical car this would make a good choice. i would own it for for few years (if it ever comes to my country which i seriously doubt) then change the turbo for a bigger one, bigger exhaust, etc.

Agreed, when I think ST I think way more than just 335hp, I want to see 400hp at least in it. It also doesn't scream ST, it just looks like a boring normal Edge. These are things that definitely should be addressed.
Eh it’s still an suv and it has more power than any competing mid size suv. You can also pay like 20k more and get a 2021 Explorer with 400hp

Maybe it's just me, but it kinda sounds like you were expecting an RS while driving an ST. The Focus and Fiesta ST's are cool, and decently quick, but they aren't balls-to-the-wall. Seems like the Edge ST fits the bill, especially for the price. If they ever make an Edge RS, well that better fully be kitted out
