Masunaga is simply the best eyewear brand in the world! Their frames are just perfect in my opinion. All the great detail works, lightweight and very solid. I can feel the great quality when I hold a masunaga frame in my hands..
Hello, I'm interested in the Masunaga Taka but I have a silly question. Can the lenses be fit by any optical store or do I need to go to a Masunaga specific store?
Hi Daniel, I have just discovered your channel and I'd like to thank you, firstly, for your excellent review of this stunning pair of aviator style sunglasses. A couple of questions, please, if I may. I have only ever worn sunglasses with mineral (glass) lenses with polarisation, in order to maximise glare reduction and minimise my risk of migraine headaches (something which I am prone to when in prolonged bright sunlight). Do you offer an option to have high quality polarised glass lenses fitted in this frame for a surcharge and if so, how likely would the additional lens weight unduly detract from the overall lightweight design? Secondly, in order to assist with sizing, are you able to tell me the inside width measurement (in millimetres) hinge to hinge? Many thanks in advance.
Thank you for those nice words! Glass will definitely add additional weight as you know. I do not do much in the way of prescription glass lenses these days, but I can do it on request. Please send me an email with your request and I will get back to you on this.
Aviator is a catch all term. Many call anything with a double bar an aviator. Usually the lenses of an aviator are more tear drop shaped. If the shape is more boxy then usually they are referred to as navigator.
The eye size is 53 and the bridge is 18. The vertical measurement of the lens is 44 mm. The temple length is 140. The total width across the front measures 135 edge to edge.
Damn that silver/gold with brown transition lenses and gold mirror would be so awesome! Shame these frames no one sell in my country.

Thank you so much for these great reviews Daniel..😎
I could not agree more, and thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying them.

Is there a difference between an aviator style and a navigator style? Or are they just calling it navigator to put their own spin on it?
