Hmm, I fear a new 'rather expensive' hobby is brewing :) Thx for the consultation last week. Cannot wait to see my new Reykjavik Eyes specs. They felt amazing! I do have my eye on Masunaga!
@@Creativepianoacademy I just got my own first pair of Lindberg frames. That lead to me discovering this channel... Reykjavik Eyes are without question world's most comfortable glasses but the Masunaga rimless are even more stunning in person than they are on the video.
Incredibly valuable perspective on some truly beautiful frames. The choice is hard but you really do a wonderful job pointing out considerations. Thank you
I own a pair of Masunaga daily news with gold black titanium, they are flawless.. the gold trim accents catch reflections in the light truly a beautiful pair of glasses
This is only my second video I've watched on this channel and it is, without a doubt, the most amazing eyewear video I've ever seen. Wow, at first I thought I wanted Masunaga but then Reykjavik was just as persuasive. They both seem like perfection to me! .... just like you. ♥
An absolutely stunning comparison video where two rather diffent conceptual brands suddenly were made possible to compare. What a pleasant dilemma for the eyewear wardrobe owner 😍😉
I love the styling of my Matsuda and Barton Perreira frames, but I have to force myself to take off my RE frames to wear them. Wonder how the Masunaga rimless would look as a sunglass. Thanks for the video!
Could not come at a better time. Just found an optical that sells Masunaga frames. Now I’m debating if I should buy some Masunaga titanium frames. Safe to say Robert’s timing is perfect.
@@thespectaclefactoryit the only colour blue? Just considering a photo fusion x lens but not sure I want to see the world as blue vs more realistic colours of the pioneer
Like always good video Robert and I agree with your assessment it really depends if you want the weightless almost like there's nothing on your face feel then go with Reykjavik but if you really want something out there with more flair masunaga is a very good choice. How do you feel about the brand Matsuda?
Hey Robert! Thank you very much for the amazing eyewear-content! What do you think of Masunaga acetate frames? Would you still say, they are amongst the very best in the world in terms of craftsmanship, finishing and polishing?
I really like what you are doing for the glasses industry here in YT. I was looking in your videos, but did not find, (correct me if I am wrong) video about, is it worth buying a quality frames and make a tinted lenses, just to wear them as sunglasses. No prescription, just put an AR coating and colour on your lenses instead of buying sunglasses just make them with Zeiss or Hoya lenses. I am planning to do that, but is it worth it, because the price is jumping high.
Hello sir , I'm from India . I'm 24 yeras old and using progressive lens . Sir is ziess Light D progressive lens suitable for me according to my active lifestyle. I can't stretch my budget beyond Light D !
Bang, i already emailed you on the Reykjavik Eyes Krafla. Already own a Masunaga and i want to try the other side of the mirror :D. One question, the northern lights lenses are made from your store ? Thank you.
Hi Robert, This video makes it more relevant for me to ask you one question, I have been thinking of. Given a tough choice of buying only 2 frames/ brands in Japan and made in Japan, what will be your choices? I’m highly impressed with Masunaga, Matsuda, Dita etc. but I can probably trust your judgement of choosing the 2 brands/ frames which are quintessentially Japanese in terms of creaftsmanship and material. Hoping to hear your thoughts.
Spectacle Factory doesn't stock them but an excellent Japanese Titanium alternative - Matsuda. I just got a pair and they are top notch, have no doubt these are going to last many, many years.
Do you have recommendations for titanium glasses that the arms are also? Highly allergic to preservatives so can’t have any of the plastics on the end of the arms.
The first time I felt the masunaga titanium I didn't want to take them off. I'm going to Japan in a couple of weeks and hope they sell them at a cheaper price over there.
I just bought a Masunaga Orchid K3 frame in gold and black recently in Ottawa from Heritage Optical. They are very similar to the Rindo. Hadn’t heard of this brand before but when I saw these glasses, I had to have them. I googled Masunaga and stumbled on this video. Have to get an eye exam before getting lenses made but I can’t wait to start wearing them.

Hi Robert I recently joined your viewers group. Where are you based in the world? I really like to pay a visit to your place! Many thanks for all the valuable info!
how are people supposed to have a glasses wardrobe when the lenses themselves are hundreds and hundreds of dollars for each pair of glasses? The cost of Rx lenses is frustratingly exorbitant unless you want crappy thick lenses.
OK. So these best titanium glasses in 2024 comparison, is it in the world or those carried by the Spectacle Factory? Also It doesn't include Cartier. I can understand that. Good but nothing really special. But where is Jacque Marie Mage, which is both good and really special?
I would say the best in the world. I do a lot of research on eyewear and travel all over to do so. JMM are beautiful, but do they give you anything beyond what Masunaga does I'm not sure. They certainly aren't as comfortable. Also, very few Cartier are titanium.
@@thespectaclefactory To start with I have about 30+ frames ranging from Lindberg to Maybach and Chrome Hearts.I've been wearing eyewear for many years. With this out of the way, I can see your logic. To answer your question about JMM providing beyond what Masunaga or Reykjavik Eyes can do? , I'd say resounding YES to due to the variety of JMM styles that just can't be obtained from them. In titanium JMM has frames like 1980, which is a very nice navigator frame, dramatically different from the Oatman, a midwest inspired frame. 1980 or Reynold are a very lightweight titanium frames, which are extremely easy to wear. (JMM also has some heavier bolder frames that are not quite my taste, Perhaps these ones you are referring to when you say that "certainly aren't as comfortable"?) In the way 1980 is designed with subtly varying the depth of the surfaces and shine level that is pure sophistication. Can Masunaga build something like this- for sure they can as they have been making frames since 1905. Do they have any current model that blends the modern art design as successfully as JMM?
