The 6 Hottest Aviator Sunglasses Right Now!
What lens material is better for tinting? Trivex or polycarbonate? Is Trivex the better overall optical clarity choice?
this video said all i needed to hear. XTRActive for me.. btw, first pair of prescription glasses.. gonna be a new world for me..
Great video. Thanks. Any particular reason for not mentioning the Rydon
Great video. Very clear and explains a lot. Is a gradient tint possible in n these lenses?
Now this is what we're talking about, Best looking sunglasses 😎 for 2024 🏆👏 As always very limited & very expensive ! 😊
Wow!! 😮 Amazing materials and design of these frames!! Great job and thanks Daniel for highlighting these!!
Thanks a lot for this helpful video. Also, regarding the XTRActive, is there a difference for night driving, compared to regular lenses (e.g. reduced glare)?
Ugly
On the sunglass version, what is the percentage on the gray gradient lens?
Excellent, thank you very much.drivewear, seem great.
The last are quite sexy
❤❤❤
💪Another amazing video brother 💪
Nice. Will you cover their MOC collection?
Yes I will! :-)
Amaizing glasses,I have Rudi model titanium, quality and style.
Great looking glasses,quality and style.thx.
Thank you! We appreciate it.
Leisure Society Tiburon for me
The Tiburon is very nice!
thank you for showing what these are actually like to look through
You are welcome! Thanks for watching.
💪I luv the vintage look far as glasses goes. I have a chunky bold frame by ray ban that was a little pricey but worth it awesome video by the way brother 💪
Vintage looks are awesome! Thanks for watching!
@@HicksBrunsonEyewear They definitely are brother i always liked the look 1950’s/60’s style you’re welcome brother always god bless always 🙏💪
I wish I could get a brown or bronze In polarized mineral glass in those frames
I'll keep my eye out for bronze color Masuanga mineral glass lenses for you.
I’m so torn between amber and brown lenses. I think I’m liking the look of amber a little more but I worry it might not darken to “sunglasses level”. what would you say about the difference between those two?
The Amber does look nice. It shows more of a true looking brown. Darkness levels are so close in Gen S, I do not think that should make your decision. I wear both, and have a hard time telling any difference, unless you are comparing XTRActive Brown to the Gen S Brown or Amber. XA Brown will get darker in most situations, and for that reason it is my personal favorite.
Is there a similar model from Masunaga in regular eyeglasses that is [also] on the larger size? Or can I put regular or transition lenses in this frame?
progressive lenses are made at this size?
Are the XTRActive Polarized good for boating
100% yes!
what about the XTRActive Polarized?
Amazing and informational video. I agree flash mirror looks much better indoors and outdoors. I am excited to add flash blue mirror on my rayban nomad glasses.
Thanks so much. I am excited to make these for you Milino!
This color combination is interesting.
The interchangeably is really cool.
Hello, I'm interested in the Masunaga Taka but I have a silly question. Can the lenses be fit by any optical store or do I need to go to a Masunaga specific store?
Great refresh of an icon with those ruby lenses
Hi! Thanks for this info. I’m getting new glasses soon. I’ve had transitions before, not Gen X, but they were always really good. I’ve gotten more photosensitive and, especially after a partially botched eye surgery, I often get really bothered by light when most people aren’t. So, I would like to get the ExtraActive lenses. I was wondering, however, is there a limit to how high one’s prescription is for wearing the extra active? Years ago I asked an optician and he told me that they were only available up to -3 myopia. I was -7 and before surgery I was at - 10.75. I hope I’m not at -3 in one eye now, but I might as well be. I actually can’t wait to have my eyesight evaluated. What if my prescription is higher than -3? Can I still get ExtraActive lenses?
Awesome frame I really like the olive gray color. Absolutely beautiful 👍
Thank you James! We'll be here when you need us.
I wear a few months GEN S lenses but on very very cloudy day's the turn very dark , i wish they where an little bit more tranparant on cloudy day,s but maybe this lenses are not good.
Can you do the gradient tint with High lndex 1.67? Please reply. Thank you in advance
Yes, we can! If interested call or email me daniel@hicksbrunson.com.
Can you do the gradient tint with High Index 1.67? Please reply thank you in advance
Yes, we can!
I'm kinda 99% sure these JMM frames are a high quality Chinese knock-off. The eagle is giving them away, if you pay attention to it's shape in official JMM photos and AliExpress clones, you'll understand.
Was this a knock-off? That's a hard no. I've been an optician specializing in high end eyewear for 24 years, and I know quality eyewear when I feel it and touch it. We do not carry this brand, but I have made lenses for JMM frames for many years. The frame was legit, and the packaging that came with it was all very high end and elaborate, Typical stuff that you see from brands like this.
@HicksBrunsonEyewear I understand. You'd be surprised how far the KO's have come, especially in terms of quality. JMM KO's are surpassing many name brands in terms of build quality and materials used. These dupes cost few hundred bucks too. But, if you say so...
Could you also do a gold lens on a gray base? I prefer the minimal color shift but like the look of the gold transitions. I don't know if the gray will throw off the gold color too much.
Damn that silver/gold with brown transition lenses and gold mirror would be so awesome! Shame these frames no one sell in my country.
Always bringing informative vids. I'm using xtractive dor for driving and that tint is accurate. It's better than clear i had w regular transistions. I may go for a pair of drivewear but single vision instead of progressive
Do you have Masunaga moc masters of craft
Thanks. I ordered custom-made Drivewear glasses from the optometrist. Best option for me but price is high
You should have used Xtractive Grey. They are darker. Also if you use a sunglass frame, not a spectacle frame. It is very good in a car. Level 2 does a very good job.
Hi Daniel. I have been considering to buy a Drivewear lens when I'm travel to EEUU, since in my country doesn't exist, neither trivex material. But I'm wondering some things about it. First. Which anti-reflective it's better to paired with for driving and dazzeling? I know it can be paired with Crizal Sapphire AR or Sunshield UV. But can be paired with others brands anti-reflective? And for last. I want to paired with a mirror coating. I know that Gold and Red mirror shift colour toward blue. Blue shift colours toward Orange and red. Green mirror shift colour toward a fucsia or pink. And silver darker the actual colour without shifting it. I need to know what mirror could fit me better. Let me tell you something about my taste when the matter it's about driving. I have try grey, Brown and orange tint for sunglasses. And I prefer by far the orange one. It's help me a lot when it shift colours of others cars light heading to me. And with excessive bright Days. Except for driving towards the Sun because I can't buy good prescription glasses with mirror in here. What would you recommend to me? Greetings
Which xtractive Transitions are you showing? I bought the Polarized version which did darken somewhat behind the wheel, but not enough. They won't polarize until fully darkened, so pointless in the car in my opinion. I returned them for the New Generation lenses and was surprised at how much darker they turned while driving on a sunny morning. I do still think that there will be a need for a consistently darker & polarized lens, so I am having a sunglass clip made for them while they are also being tinted to blend the residual "Hint of Tint" to a nicer color than (ugh) grey. I have spent hours upon hours in search of an in-car comparison of the New Generation and the Polarized lenses, but couldn't find anything. Could you please show that, too? In my research, I have learned way more about Transitions, tint, style and flash mirrors than I ever thought I needed to know! Thank you for your videos!
Hi Brenda. I am not showing the XTRActive Polarized in this video. I am showing the XA New Gen Brown. Youn and others have observed the XA Polarized does not appear to get as dark as XA Non Polarized, but that is all anecdotal. I have no idea what the true percentage comparisons are, but I believe there is a difference.
@HicksBrunsonEyewear Thank you for your response. Two months ago I had no idea that there were so many choices... I just always ordered brown Transitions for everyday wear and had a separate pair of clear glasses with a clip. This time around I'll end up with 3 separate pairs.
That's nice review, I'll share to my bf. lol
Thanks, I hope he gets some good ideas!
I have eyeglasses with both Transitions XA and DW lenses. IMO, XA lenses are essentially worthless as sunglasses when driving. It’s like wearing glasses with lightly tinted lenses. DW lenses are better, but nothing beats a pair of standard polarized sunglasses for bright light protection while driving.
I used to think XTRActive were worthless, but I have found that the new Generation is moderately helpful for me, but as they say individual results will vary. As I said in the video, XA his nowhere near a true sunglass or Drivewear, but some tint is better than no tint in my experience.
What are the aviators glasses? Thanks

Nice. Been waiting for drivewear review to compare it to xtractive and xtractive polarized. Just found out last week that essilor doesn't bring in their drivewear line here in Indonesia. But i found another brand, illustro, have them. Probably licenced from essilor... But the price thou, it is twice compared to xtractive, xtractive polarized, on xperio (polarized sunglasses lens)... I ended up having xperio for driving glasses. A permanent polarized sunglass for driving... Thanks for the review...
Thanks for sharing your experience! I hope you found my review helpful.
@HicksBrunsonEyewear yup, thanks. Very helpful. Make me eager to have one drivewear sunglasses. But need to save more first. Haha...
Beautiful Japanese glasses. And even more beautiful lens. I cant wait for my raybans to have this type of lens
Thanks. It's a great look.
Very informative. As an FYI, the side windows in vehicles typically do not block UV like the front windshield does.
Thank you, and thanks for letting me know about the side windows.
