Been wearing Persol for like 18 years now. Everything from the lenses to the resin the frames are made from, have outlasted and aged better than any other frame I’ve ever owned. Same thing with a lot of family members; I have an uncle who’s been wearing them nonstop since the 60s.
about to get my third pair in a few weeks. only frames I actually trust. have beat the shit out of mine and they are so tough. mine are prescription btw.
I have not come across Oliver Peoples! I’m a one trick pony it seems. The Persol line up just keeps getting my attention and I haven’t strayed in several years.
Beautifully crafted shades. The only thing I don't like is the models with the insissions on the bridge. They do occasionally stress and fracture. It has happened to mine. I got a pair without the slits. Much better. Don't know why they still insist with that technique.
Well they weren't growing or making enough money to stand on their own because most companies from that era aren't exactly good at book keeping, Luxottica bought and saved them from disappearing altogether
Persol was bought a long time ago but at least when I worked for Luxottica, part of the agreement was Persol would continue to be made in the same factory with the same quality. The same can't be said for Ray-Ban. Not trying to hate on Ray-Ban, but it's not the same as when B&L owned it.
@@MegaAluchi : It's not across the board poor quality at RB, but it does vary per model: the Made in Italy Wayfarers are as solid as ever: excellent glass lenses, heavy acetate, superb fit and polish and superb hinges, but a few of the more recent models - especially many made in china - are essentially relying on the RB name to mask tier 2 quality...
I did not buy them cus they where too cheap for being hand made + italalian. Maybe cus they are not hand made, just hand assembled there is a huge difference.
Maybe you have them mixed up with the counterfeit items available in your country, perhaps replay this video at a slower speed and you may see the retrofitting of the meflecto and victorflex is not exactly 'assembling'
Persol are still made in the same factory in Italy with same top notch quality. What chinese workers are you even talking about? Learn to troll better.

I learnt that Persol was bought out

@@nickyjames1985 The same goes with Carrera, and Ray Ban.

Totally agree!
I would never go back to Ray Ban after they stopped making them in the USA
