    Great Job, well done! My 2nd custom i turned "light fusion 1's" into "Fuchicago 1's" lol
    Couple tips:
    You can use something as a pry tool (long thin and flat) to lift the seems, like with the swoosh to make detail work a lil easier.
    6:22 As far as cleaning the white when you paint on it accidentally, don't use anything like alcohol or acetone because it will remove the clear coat and when you see it in the right lighting you can tell its the only spot without clear coat. Just use a cotton swab with water as soon as it happens, it should still work tho even if it dried as long as you didn't clear coat it.
    Also the cotton swab is too thick sometimes and if you're not carefoul you can remove some paint from somewhere you didn't too, so it's best to take like half the cotton off the tip of the swab and twist it so you can be more precise with it.
    Thanks for the inspiration man, keep grindin! This "Chicago" custom will definitely be next which will make it my 4th, wish me luck!

      This tool you are making was invented many years ago. It's called a q-tip.

    I thought of doing this when these first dropped; and after seeing disappointing pics of the “reimagined” Chicago 1’s, I’m more motivated to do this custom. I can imagine getting the Chenille pair and dying the chenille Swoosh black.

    couple things in regard to safety and acetone:
    acetone is in fingernail polish remover. it's almost completely safe for skin contact, unless you have open cuts.
    secondly: gloves like you were using can potentially melt under contact with acetone, as it is a petroleum plastic solvent. THAT has a higher chance of fusing your skin to the glove than using no gloves at all.
    fun fact: the same rules apply for liquid nitrogen, but for different purposes. you really don't want to wear gloves when working with that stuff at all.

    • @criticalkicks
      @criticalkicks  2 года назад +1

      The gloves I used were good for acetone use. I’ve been using it for a few years now. Acetone may not damage the skin but it will really dry it out and it’s kinda uncomfortable for me. Sometimes it will leave behind a dry white mark on the skin that’ll go away in a few minutes but still I prefer to use safe gloves.

I also have a pair of Air Force 1’s Cristino Ronaldinho in the same condition no scratches on that shinny material. Anyway if I send you both pairs and you refurbish the AF1’s you can have the Jordan’s for the work piece of cake for you but not for me anything using more then a damp towel I never tried so this is why I ask. Yo, I want to paint one of my several Heritage pairs as youve done here, can you direct me to the correct airbrush to use? I have the brushes I need but want an airbrush so I can flow the paint on evenly and not create any streaks or imperfections from paintbrush residue. Also what finisher or clearcoat should be used to seal the colors in from the elements. And can I apply the finisher/clear with the same aorbrush tip or does ot need to be a different applicator to avoid caking of the top coat? I've been a graffiti artist for almost two decades and have wanted to get into custom sneakers forever just never had a canvas that I wanted to use until jordan brand did us all a solid and created this silhouette! Its actually a phenomenal colorblocking and many don't give it the respect it deserves! Our breds have this same blocking but because the dominant color is white leather here everyone wants to trash these.... it's just CRAZY because these were the official Jordan 1 colorway and Im keeping several pairs on ice for myself even after this Chicago I plan on doing! Thanks my G. Also going to give my visionaries a reimagined custom paintjob as well! I'm going to produce a video of that on this random guys graffiti channel hes rely good at graf too but he wants to remain nameless so I'll just post it as Visionaries To Reimagined customs 🤯 thanks in advance for the help big dog.

    The soles fell of in the past, after that i tried using a glue that i bought on ebay tu put them together but i ended up taking it off because it wasnt stable enough apparently i needed a better more sofisticated one, but then the white part at the bottom of the shoe got stained with the glue and now i dont know how to take out the glue off the white part and the glue is yellow very noticeble, in some corners.
    i am afraid of using the brush to much and damaging the material in the white rubber.
    the shoes is in great condition for the years ive own it, i have them since i was 18 and now i am 32. is there any special technique or solution i can use to take off the glue without damagaing it? and also what what is the best glue for soles. Thank you in advance.
