    Thanks for the shout-out Kelly! It made me smile to see how well-loved your copy of Hellenistic Astrology is. 😂

    I just finished finished On the Heavenly Spheres and I loved it. It really tied everything together really well and suddenly my understanding was less akin to a bucket of legos. RIP Helena Avelar.

    Currently I am working through Astrology: Understanding The Birth Chart by Kevin Burk. But honestly I've learned the most from Chris, Austin, and you on the Astrology Podcast!

    Thank you for the recommendations for the 5 books. Had 2 already, ordered 3. Have Chris' book too (love it). Will Order Demetra's book if Santa leaves sone money, Otherwise, After I finish Chris' book in 2022, hopefully. Mt fav Astrology books: Alice Bailey, Esoteric Psychology, Richard Tarnas Cosmos and Psyche (BRILLIANT!), Alan Leo Esoteric Astrology, Phillip Lindsay's works, Dane Rudhyar, all, Douglas Baker (England), All of his books (he claims "The English Master" ( formerly Robert Browning in his life before becoming a Master) was his mentor), Elizabeth Spring is also a very inspirational writer and easy to read. She is not as heavy on the nuts and bolts, but makes you feel like being an Astrologer is next to Godliness).
    And she really inspires you to access the north/South Nodes. Isabel Hickey was her mentor and left behind an excellent nuts and bolts text (signs, planets, houses, Aspects, etc). So Elizabeth speaks to your heart vs rational mind.

    Thanks, Kelly. I read your blog post on this topic and ended up choosing the House book you recommended and On The Heavenly Spheres. I already have Hellenistic Astrology, so I've got some reading ahead of me! Appreciate your insight as it helped me to make a better decision with what little money I have at the moment. :)

    Thank you, Kelly! I’d love to study with you, but not sure where to start... I have been a student of Astrology for over ten years, so I have a fundamental understanding. When do you anticipate offering your next workshop where we can speak with you & ask questions in real time? If not in person, perhaps via Zoom? Thank you so much.

    Coming from an Evolutionary Astrology background, I love Steven Forrest’s books as it’s as if he’s talking to you in person explaining things. I have found these to be helpful especially Yesterday’s Sky which talk about the lunar nodes.

    Hi Kelly! I'm just getting started with Astrology. I made a natal chart using The Rosicrucian Book Simplified Scientific Astrology by Max Heindel. Could you tell me what category of astrology Max Heindel's technique falls under? Is it Traditional, Modern, Hellenistic Astrology? Thank you for your feedback!

    I bought an astrology book once. Couldn’t understand it at all. Sold it to my friend who could grasp it better. Wish I could as I’m very interested in it

    • @KellysAstrology
      @KellysAstrology  4 года назад +5

      If you are very interested in astrology but find it hard to learn from a book, you might get more out of a class with a teacher. Sometimes having a person explain the basics, especially in the beginning can help you get started.

    Ask yourself: Am I any happier with all this astrology crap in my life than I was before? Am I more successful? Have I improved my character? Is my love life better? Am I making more money? Are my grades better? Etc. Look around. Be honest with yourself. By the fruit you'll know the tree.

      True

      @lowbrowrodeo 3 года назад +4

      Haha, yes, it made things a lot clearer for me, as someone with multiple interests it helped me make the decision to study psychology and work in that field. It helped me understand why some family members are this way snd others are another way, even on the born again christian side. We use a map when we take a trip. That is what astrology is, a map. A system created by the Creator. Not sometihing to be worshipped, but used as a tool. Even events like a spiritual awakening can be traced back.

      I just asked myself, here’s what I discovered:
      I am happier, I am more successful, I improved my character, my love life is better, I make more money, and my grades are great!
      Thx for this prompt!
      I had no idea how truly useful astrology was until you asked this question! Turns out great fruit comes from the astrological tree of knowledge.
      Thank you!
