The Best Astrology Book for Beginners

- In this video I talk about the single best intro to astrology book that I've found for beginners, which is titled Astrology: Using the Wisdom of the Stars in Your Everyday Life, by Carole Taylor.
I just found this book earlier this year in a bookstore, and it quickly became my new favorite book to recommend new students of astrology, because it is 1) very comprehensive yet concise and easy to read, 2) extremely well-illustrated, 3) covers both beginner and intermediate concepts, and 4) it is also very affordable and easy to find.

My first astrology book was Isabelle Hickey's Astrology: A Cosmic Science, then I went on to Dane Rudhyar's The Astrology of Personality. Pretty rough start, lol. Doing Chris Brennan's Hellenistic course now - learning a ton!
Bought this book in Traditional Chinese version, prepare to dive into the world of astrology.
I love this book! Ive been taking an intense astrology study course, and i often grab it for quick reference when i need, lets say, ruling planet, or quick key words. The book looks really simple at first glance, and looks like it wouldn’t offer much, but i was mistaken. Its laid out really simply and cleanly. It will be a permanent part of my collection of astrology books. Looking forward to receiving the new edition of Parkers Astrology coming out this week as well.

That's so funny that this video found me. I actually went to barnes and noble with my boyfriend on a date and we were reading in the astrology section and for all of these reasons this is the first astrology book I ever bought. It is so cool!! The images throughout are super pretty. I bought it because I wanted to better understand the outer planets and what they do/symbolize and it has definitely done that for me.

Yesss! April Elliot Kent's book is still my other favorite intro book, and it should pair really well with Carole's book.

I watched the episode regarding aspects with Carole. You had said you found it in the bookstore near the kids section. My kids went to Barnes and Noble last Dec and there was a hugh display of astrology books in the childrens area for ages from babies to teens.
I think the book was in that area to market it to teens as there has been more marketing of astrology to teens.
I'm sure its a great book , but the bookstore was displaying this one for the younger crowd. Glad it is so well written and comprehensive.
There is a shorter version of the same book that it seems like they market to younger people titled The Secrets of Astrology: A Complete Guide to Sun Signs, Planets, Houses, and More. It is basically just the first half of the larger book by Carole, and they cut the extended coverage of different topics from the end of the book to make it shorter. Otherwise the illustrations and contents are the same as far as I can tell. I recommend the bigger book though because it is just as cheap and more comprehensive. Lol. I just bought this book for my daughter in law as a BD present. I got it on Amazon and from what I could see in the preview, I felt it would be a perfect book not only for a beginner but for an intermediate astrologer as well. Dang, I should get myself one too.!

I find this book not very helpful as an Indian. Anyone who likes to go in depth of things asks a lot of why where does it originate wouldn’t like this one.
