- Rio 1/20/1985...there's a problem with the sync in the last couple minutes of the video..i'm not sure what's going on, but I'll leave this version up until I figure something out.
Rock-n-Roll is about fun, and The B52's have been delivering fun for over the last 40 years! ❤️🎸🎷🎺🥁🎤🎹🎧☮️♥️ Thank you, Ricky, Keith, Kate, Cindy, and Fred, for all of the wonderful music you've given to us over the years! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
There will never be another band that sounds like the B-52 ever!
Whoa! Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth were playing with them here.
Can’t get enough of this version, the beat the beat the beat!!
Shakin‘ fringe nothing better!😀 love this!
this concert was the reason I got a passport, a part-time job, and flew in a airplane for the first time.Never ever again will you get to see/hear the B-52's and Nina Hagenin the same line up!
I always hear from people that the appeal to this band is that they are "different" and people relate to them because of that. Well...I like all that, too, but more than equally I think their music...their songs...are just so good. I love this song, and I can never decide which version ("moon" or "moon 83") I like. Here, they are combining both. And it's just so very good.
ok that was confusing me lol, I was trying to figure out which one it was, but it seems like they did combine them.
the official set list says they do both songs, so I thought they left one out.
Ricky. :_( Even in his last year he still had the energy to put on a heck of a great show. You're sorely missed, mr. Wilson.
Totally agree with SuperPais. One of their best songs! "There are thousands of others like you!"
Looks like those Tom Tom Clubbers got in on the action on this number. Nice.
I KNEW I HAD to be right. I was wondering if it was a fire alarm, having a friendly argument with someone, about the start of this record. I have been looking for this video, which I thought existed. Thank you B-52's.
With a little help from Talking Head's rhythm section. Nice!
My youth!🔥Brilliant!
Back when it was cool to have fun!
So fricken good can't beat the 52s love em with all my heart!!
The one and only b52s no body can touch them what a band!!!!!!!
I was there and I had no idea that The Talking Heads rhythm section were playing
Wow, one of the best songs of the Bs... so few views ? Who cares, real fans are here. And what an incredible version. The keyboards are great, lol.
And all the song.
Many thanks for the other side of the ocean...
Debio de ser muy emocionante haber sido adolescente cuando recien salio este disco, aunque descubrir a los B-52's en cualquier epoca es emocionante y bueno.
Si muy correcto
Yes. this had to be Rickys last show. He died on OCTOBER 12, 1985. If he was sick, he did not show it.
Supposedly, Ricky was sweating heavily during this show and the footage of him in November 1980 shows him sweating during "Runnin' Around." Reportedly, AIDS patients sweat a lot at night and sometimes they'll sweat heavier in the daytime. There are images of his shirt being drenched, how hot was it at these shows? He might have caught AIDS before the first album was even released.
Lots of people sweat heavily when they're up on stage slaying it for two hours.
The only thing I can notice is how he is out of breath after some of the longer lines. Still took a lot of heart to stand up there and perform like he was on top of the world.
@@101VoltsI saw Rio de Janeiro 80 concert the energy vibe was amazing, it's on tube whole concert❤
"You better move over! Here comes a Supernova!" - Love Kate
IN THE MID 90s THE B52S MADE THE COVER OF THE ROLLING STONE AND WERE DUBBED "AMERICA'S PARTY BAND", I AGREE. MYSELF I'M AN AEROSMITH TO ZZ TOP TYPE ROCKER, HOWEVER I LOVE THE B52S ESPECIALLY KATE, SHE'S GORGEOUS AND VERY TALENTED AND THE SAME CAN BE SAID ABOUT CINDY.
"There are others like you": Wonder exactly what the B-52's meant by that? :) They were always speaking on two levels... Song still holds-up in 2012, IMhO.
It's Cindy in the yellow shaky-shaky dress!!!! Awesome!!! Happy Lunar Eclipse, everyone!
damn they were sooooo good. awesome video. thank you for posting.
I was there!!!!! 30 meters from the stage!!!!!!!
Is that Tina Weymouth slappin' the bass?
