They certainly are the most imaginative band I have ever heard. No one, but no one ever put together songs like this - not even DEVO, yet another truly unique band. Certain groups are absolutely one of a kind and B52s fit that category to a T.

I saw them in Anaheim last night (11/5/2022) with KC & The Sunshine Band. I am so glad I did. They did not sing this but I am thankful I did not miss them before they retired.

Saw them 2x in the early 80's, including an amazing show at the Palladium in LA during a Spring Break, and once in Las Cruces during the "Mesopotamia" tour. I never heard this song until a few months ago on the "With the Wild Crowd" album. Love, love, love this song; it always puts a smile on my face. And this video! Fred's dancing is spectacular. Wigs on fire!

In fact, their recovery and later successes should have made them an easy nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They've been robbed. Love Shack is STILL played regularly at dance clubs to this very day. Not many Rock and Roll Hall of Famers can say the same about their music.
I read this was recorded in Plymouth (England) when I was about 16/17, bands never really made it that far South West. I lived about 60 miles away. I had no idea, I’d have found a way to get there and see it. I think it might have ended up on a regional Saturday morning kids TV show. Travesty!
