I love Cheetahs, such beautiful cats.
Compared to other wildcats they are relatively docile and will avoid humans as much as possible, they’re far more likely to run away than attack.
It might attack only if it felt completely cornered with no means of escape.
Still, their docility doesnt mean you should go out in the savannah and try and pet the first Cheetah you find, they’re still potentially dangerous wild animals. They’re best observed from afar.

You don’t just evolve in one day like a Pokémon that takes millions of years, second they basically sacrifice strength and defense for speed for them to become stronger and bigger they’re basically going to have to lose their speed Or they’re gonna have to wait tens of millions of years and they’re probably gonna be extinct before then
@@zay_gzs5635 and also: what niche should they then occupy? They evolved to be as fast as possible to catch prey that is too healthy and fast for lions, leopards, painted dogs and hyenas, but sacrificed strength and size.
They can't take the other niches since they are occupied by some of the most efficient predators and the same also goes for smaller prey since the niches for smaller carnivores are already occupied as well.
I wish evolving was this easy, but sadly we'll need the cheetahs here in surplus for thousands of years before even small changes in them begin to happen. If we can't bring their numbers up, it's more likely they won't survive a few dozen years

It’s because most adult humans even women around 5’5 can take on a cheetah so long as they don’t mind getting scratched and bit in certain areas and protecting others. A 5’8 170lb man can kill a cheetah bare handed unlike other big cats. Cheetah are lean and target weak and relatively small prey. Other big cats will ruin you however.
@@DontAttme what would a human do to “kill” a cheetah? You would have to choke it out, but that requires an arm or two, and what would you use to stop it’s 4 let’s from clawing you to bleed to death? Even a little house cat can cause a lot of damage with claws when it feels threatened and begins squirming like crazy. A cheetah would be all the more troublesome. You’d have to be a pretty good athlete and decent wrestler, not sure if the average human can handle that.
@@mazi_thoughts as I said in a fight with a cheetah you would have to accept those injuries but in the end they will not be anywhere near as majorly problematic as larger big cats. Cheetah cannot lift a full grown human on its back, nullifying its legs and it is this point where choking out the cheetah will be at your most viable, cheetah have a sensitive nose and like most other animals vulnerable eyes and sand or a finger to the eyes or up the nostrils will affect the animal greatly leaving it open to further attack assuming it fails to dodge or prevent you doing that. Cheetah are not stocky cats, all cheetahs muscle is for is fast mobility and does not work as good in combat against any animals that will fight back. Cheetah will not even want to fight a human in the first place so if a grown man is attacking the cheetah the cheetah will be the one under threat unless it gets very lucky. You have 4 limbs to fight. You even have a mouth if you get desperate.

My wife worked for a big cat sanctuary and the Cheetah was the biggest cat that they let people go into the cage and hand feed - they don't attack humans, and technically they're not even classified as big cats - that classification stops at Leopards.

Yup! They're not even in the same genus, they're not "panthera" like the lions, tigers etc. They're the largest feline that can purr. Actually, I just googled to find out their genus and they're the sole representative of the genus Acinonyx. They're felines, but in a branch totally their own.

The chances of getting attacked by a cheetah are low but never zero, they rarely attack humans anyway, and would prefer to avoid contact, just like they do with other predators.

As far as I know the cheetah is almost harmless when compared to other big cats. I never heard from a cheetah killing a human.
If you protect your neck, and arteries from it's bite and accept the fact that you will get biten or scratched in some non vital spots you should be relatively fine. Unlike other cats their claws are not retractable and therefor almost blunt. Similar to a dog. But a cheetah will almost never attack a human. When not hunting they are fairly calm and relaxed.
It is harmless indeed. Leave a cheetah alone, and it won't do anything. The video of a cheetah jumping onto a Jeep, the cheetah is totally not aggressive and just curious. It got way too familiar with humans, but obviously is not thinking of attacking.
A Cheetah's bite may be weak compared to other massive cats like Tigers, but they still bite way harder than most heavyweight dogs that we know of, so it still wouldn't be that easy

As far as I know about Cheetah (probably I do not know much is what I think) Cheetah the animal is not built for muscular attacks. A healthy human could easily fight it off. It would be like being attacked by dog. Has sharp and nails; that's all. Cheetah paws swipe would hardly be deadly as compared to the actual 'Big Cats'. The way to defend yourself against a Cheetah would be to stand your ground and try to seem bigger and dangerous to it. Animals follow the pattern of Alpha - ism. You make it feel lesser and it will move away.

Cheetah aren't particularly powerful. In fact they're fairly weak due to the lack of retractile claws and rely on biting on the neck to KO its victims. A single cheetah is somewhat easy to defeat as long as you keep your neck protected due to that lack of claws who can be used to scratch you behind your clothing. That's the reason Cheetah don't attack humans, they're too weak to win the fight in a fair 1v1.

it depends, if it jumps of your face and mauls you then your as good as dead. cheetahs are extremly agile and quick animals and usually resorts to sneak attacks.

2/ I’ve never fought for my life against a pitbull. A swift kick across its face or rib cage walking home from school was always enough to do the job and send them packing.
3/ Cheetahs claws ARENT SHARPA. They’re NOT. They aren’t used for fighting either.
4/ Stop doing that thing where you think just because they bring down large prey means anything. They’re primary takedown is surprise and momentum, to trip their prey. You BET it would lose to a human.
