Out of all the ADHD channels out there, you are my favourite 👍 Honest, to the point and not trying to be a ‘RUclipsr personality’ you are yourself. Sharing your journey helps me through mine being diagnosed in my 30s and coming to terms with it and how to work with it, so thank you! Keep it up mate

I've found using the two minute rule has really helped me stop putting off small jobs until they pile up into a monster, I ask myself if it will take under two minutes to do and if the answer is yes, then I have to do it straight away. Breaking jobs down into smaller parts or keeping on top of small things so that they don't build up is really helpful for me.
Took my first dose of Elvanse today, I can already tell that it's probably going to make a big difference to my life 👍

For sure! That is a cracking way to get stuff done when your ADHD says no.
Great news mate, glad to hear it 👌

"Until you value yourself, you will not value your time; until you value your time, you won't do anything with it." M. Scott Peck.
Dr. Barkley talks about the phenomenon of "Temporal Myopia" and how ADHD is a disease of distractibility.
When you can't remember from one moment to the next what it is you're supposed to be doing, getting and staying motivated means [ahem] "We have to work twice as hard, to achieve half as much". (... sh×t!).

Hey! Thanks for your vids / recently had a private consultation and two days into Elvanse and would love to ask you a few questions as you seem a little ahead of me on medication advice!

So I’ve started Elvanse 30mg and am 4 days into it. Previously I used to suffer from anxiety and ruminating negative thoughts at work and couldn’t sit with myself that much before getting v negative a lot. All the other adhd symptoms of being a bit unorganised I certainly was, but never to the extent of not getting out of bed and being super depressed or anytbing I’d always be able to go on runs and be ok day to day.
Since trying the medication I’ve noticed that come up feeling after a couple of hours, and felt very focused almost so focused if I tried to take my mind to the usual places of distraction it was almost impossible! I’ve been ridiculously tired in the afternoons and been quite irritable. Socially I feel like my mood has been worse overall and lethargic and out of work find it hard to be excited by things, more just functional and like I’m in autopilot a bit just doing my job to do it..
I’m aware that the doc wants to review and bump me up to 50mg and then maybe bring me down... I know it’s too early to say but have I experienced the medication long enough to know if it will work or not? Aside from some of the side effects if I feel the negatives out way the positives 4 days in is it likely it might not be beneficial going forward do you reckon!?
Naturally I think I’m overthinking it and trying to just not think to much about it, but curious what 50mg may feel like compared?
Also completely get the dependence issue of worrying if it does work would I be on it the rest of my life!
      TIA

@@mattryan9902 Hey Matt! I think what you’ve described is what the majority of people who start adhd medication report, too. The afternoon lethargy and irritability was something I experienced but I suppose I got used to it (?).
With regards to your question on the increase in dosage - I think you should follow your doctors titration plan. Although I didn’t settle on any of the higher dosages, I am glad my doctor ‘made’ me increase because I then knew what overstimulation felt like.
Keep me posted on your progress!
      Ollie.

      @@ollieedward643 thanks for this.
Overall - now that you’ve tried different strengths of medicine - what would you say the drug does to you both negative / positive points? I feel it’s just killed my personality a bit and wonder if that will be a continued thing ..
      cheers
