    Pronounced DaPESH Mode...... My favorite band just inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! This song was written about Priscilla Presley's book about Elvis! Elvis was like her own Personal Jesus!

      Depeche mode fans are the best! We're like one big family. We all relate and link to each other - yet we live on opposite sides of the world and don't know each others names. It's beautiful. I couldn't live without them

    It's not about the Christian Jesus - at all. He's just a metaphor.

    How could you be 18 in 1989 and not hear a Depeche Mode song? They were massive in the 80s

    Props to you guys Finally some Depeche Mode! (if you do another one from them - should be the live version in Paris, France called "never let me down again" - that will show you the bands love by people. Next icons should be NEW ORDER "Crystal" the SMITHS :"big mouth strikes again", and the CULT - "love removal machine" - You would be one of the first of all reviewers to do those bands! Keep up the good work!!!!!!

    Outside my suggestions of their other songs, this song was inspired by Priscilla Presley's autobiography about her and Elvis. From the songwriter, “It's a song about being a Jesus for somebody else, someone to give you hope and care. It's about how Elvis Presley was her man and her mentor and how often that happens in love relationships; how everybody's heart is like a god in some way, and that's not a very balanced view of someone, is it?”"

    Blasphemous Rumours, Walking In My Shoes, and Policy of Truth! Three greats!

    Duran Duran, Ultravox, Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode to me the best electronic bands you should check out.

    Songs about a co dependent relationship between Priscilla Presley and Elvis, in which he was like Jesus to her.... But we all know Jesus is the one who provides (actually my primo that works on the farms in California hehe).

    Johnny Cash COVERED this song. It wasn't really meant as a Christian Song but about having someone there to take care of you when you need them! Lots of Great songs with Depeche Mode. People Are People, Walking In My Shoes, Enjoy the Silence, Policy of Truth, Everything Counts, Wrong (Official Video is whack)!

    Where else but Texas is an English boy meant to find faith? By faith I mean 'lots of guns,' clearly.

    The best band of all time! But....it’s the only song to feature Stetson’s on the video :-) So song be disappointed when you listen to more of their stuff. 40 years strong and just inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Try Home, Stripped, Precious, Wrong.

  • @mattbauer548

    it's NOT A CHRISTIAN SONG

  • @condemned1982
    @condemned1982 3 года назад +2

    You guys are way too literal - you can't take everything at face value, there is deeper meaning. Most of DM's songs are about complexities of life and relationships... it's a bit of a slam on religion, if you think about it... why pray to an invisible God in the sky when you can get consolation and forgiveness right here on Earth from your partner?

    You probably shouldn't even listen to music if you don't understand metaphors.

    You should react to Marilyn Manson’s version of this, much better
