    In 2008, rain in 10 minutes meant rain in 10 minutes. Today, rain in 10 minutes means rain 10 minutes after the race.

      The difference is that dry tires these days are slip tires and the tires before give a bit more grip on slippery conditions.

      Masi just destroyed the integrity of F1 as a sport. He manipulated the race by breaking the rules twice and handed the title to Max. Shambolic farce at the end of the 2021 season! Glad he was fired- but Hamilton is the rightful 8 time world champion right now. Max is an illegitimate winner. It's such a disgrace, the rules need to ALWAYS be followed- and the race director decided NOT to.

Even with the safety drama and faster tyres on the last lap, He still had just 1 lap in an inferior car and NO DRS to pass Lewis. He still did it. A 7 time champ couln't hold him back? And not to mention he was shunted out of two races in a row by Merc drivers when he would have easily won both. SO yea. Max took the win and the title in an inferior car against all odds. KARMA ;)

Bear in mind because he didn't pit he still gained 3 places on other drivers overall. So no Toyota couldn't pit him and they definitely did not hand Hamilton the trophy

      @@ivervj2923 I once read that it was not the accident but the time with Alonso in the team that broke him. He actually drove pretty well in 2010 an could have won Hockenheim.
      But I think that Hungary 2009 had a pretty decent (edit: not "decent" but "hard" or "harsh"; wrong word) effect on his performance.
      It was a pity to see him struggling.

      @@GurtMan100 I know, but that's the human error of mercedes. They were sure that the race would end under safety car. But it was only their assumption, which turned out to be a wrong one. Red bull decided to take a risk and pit Max thinking that they would have racing laps left, and they were right.
      There is no procedure that says that race should have ended under SC

      @@nsdfancy Not many hugs them like Lewis though right after he parks when he wins. No matter how many wins or titles, you can see how psyched he is after a win when he hugs them. He hugs them like a Year 2 or 3 driver after winning with the world ahead of them, not like someone's who has been doing this for 10 years plus with 7 titles.

    "I got to a race in 2008 where Lewis Hamilton won the championship in the last lap by passing Timo Glock. That was such a dramatic race. I've seen it many times before, but watching it again while sitting at a piano, that’s when I came up with the melody"
