      Unrelated but I watched the 2005 European GP and was hoping Kimi Raikkonen would be able to nurse it to a win. It always happens and a bit of a shame. Without the ten second stop go penalty he probably would've finished on the podium, which goes to show how incredible the 2012 season was that a midfielder could suddenly challenge for the win one day. You wouldn't see Hamilton fighting a Mclaren or Alfa Romeo for the lead of a race for several laps on end today.

      @Trivia1419 4 года назад +7

      @moi paslui I mean last season in Germany was his fault going wide and then not realizing how slippy it was there, but what I don't understand about that situation is how he wasn't told that if you went wide there, you couldn't recover. There were at least 4 cars going onti the gravel at that corner because there was absolutely no grip and one of those retired, but the engineer still didn't told him to be very cautious out there. WHY? Because if he did, the Hulk wouldn't have retired.

      @moi paslui he didn't always blow them. Many times when he was fighting for a podium he was out either by machanical failure like in singapore 2017 or bad strategy calls like in monaco 2016. I think it's a travesty that a driver like Hülkenberg hasn't scored a podium and gets seen as less of a driver for it. Even though hes a much better driver than many people who has scored poduims. I have gathered a lot of data on this and he is better than almost every teammate he had exept maybe Barrichello and ricciardo. Pérez you might say? People tend to forget this moment but I think it just shows Kimi's expertise and awareness. At 0:27 his brakes started to lock up, he realizes the car in front of him was Sebastian Vettel, knowing that he cannot fully stop the car because he was locking up, he just then steered completely to his right just to avoid rear ending Seb, had Kimi not have the awareness that would've surely ended Seb's race even before the contact to Bruno Senna.

      Alonso did great, he is surely better driver than Vettel but people severely hype Alonso here, he didn't have any reliability issues, thanks to Ferrari. On the other hand Vettel had too many reliability issues. People severely downplay Vettel, especially final race, damage, radio malfunction, pitstop mess he overcame all odds and became a champion. Ferrari didn't have the best car but still it's second fastest and faster than redbull on straights for atleast 3/5 of the season. Thanks to Ferrari too, it atleast provided a car with better reliability than redbull. But still it's great drive from Alonso but not the best.
