On Red Bull Racing's recent Formula 1 road trip, Daniel Ricciardo took the RB7 for a shakedown around the famous Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst, NSW alongside Shane Van Gisbergen in his Supercar Camaro. I kinda wish we would have seen a less hold back approach of the f1 to really see how much faster it goes, but i get that wasn't really a option with safty etc

DR has a big lead. OOOOOPS, he took a line through a corner that no race car driver would ever take and has let the Supercar slip through. That was just unlucky.

Wow, wow, wow! That v8 supercar is a million dollar superbeast which sounds and performs amazing (unfortunately kind of turning into nascar lookalikes I thinks). However, seeing the F1 car passing, dropping waaaay back then re-passing the hefty v8 so effortlessly was just next level. I now have an appreciation of the multi million dollar super machines F1 cars are. Thank you team RB for this, and thanks to SVG and Dani Ric for displaying their talents.

No one wants that. One lap and we'd have 3 dead drivers, not safe enough

@@andosrailway2369 The S5000 cars were too fast to race there and I don't think its possible to ever make that track safe enough for them without ruining the track
It’ll Never happen mate. Even if the track was good enough the location is too isolated for a race. So 🤷♂️
The track is only built for endurance racing and not for Formula 1. The elevation changes and the fact that it's a long circuit would heavily damage these modern F1 cars. Oh and fuel would also be an issue.
Imagine an f1 race in bathurst... yes it would be the most unsafe thing ever but seeing all the cars go around the track would insane
t would be better than Monaco and I it actually has some run off unlike any street circuit I would race a f1 car there the cars are safe so it should be all good
And there are places for overtaking as well

Crazy the speed difference, it’s like a masters athlete racing a prime athlete, no matter how good of a shape your in you just can’t beat the youth, but you can put yourself in good places on the track and you know the track inside out, thanks for an awesome video
How many laps has Van Gisbergen raced around this track compared to Ricciardo in their careers? I’d love to see the Ricciardo get really smooth on it and see how quick that car could do the circuit.
I think out of respect, he didn't because then he'd have the fastest latime for free and would never be beaten by normal cars

That's exactly what I thought immediately, I drive this route often, it's crazy how fast they cover the distance in reality.
The film "Le Mans" with Christian Bale features the track "Willow Spring", which can also be seen in Gran Turismo 7.

imagine that the v8’s are about formula 4 (actually formula renault 2.0 and is the match) pace if not less on tight tracks (mount panorama is a bit fast )then between each formula it’s a massive difference in pace.

In reality, the F1 car would disappear out of sight. But the driver is nursing the car around the circuit.

it wasnt that they couldnt do it it was that due to safety concerns they wherent allowed to let the f1 car go full speed

It would be _amazing_ to see a full grid of F1 cars in full flight around The Mountain.
If they can do it at Monaco, they can do it there.
The speed would make it to dangerous it sounds cool and looks easy but with all them cars on that track it's just a death trap look at the V 8 supercars and some of the crazy crashes now put more top speed and presto funerals incoming.
the speed diiference and the reduction in control while going down the mountain make it much worse than monaco. it would be fun to watch though.
