It's not about straight line, what differentiates the F1 car is its ability to take a bend at 150 mph.
I mean, yeah, but it also helps that it can get to nearly 200 mph in under 6 seconds. The game was decided by it teleporting down the final straightaway
Its the weight and the traction differentiate those cars. Even if the other car have same hp. They cant take corner at much higher speed and accelerating faster than the f1 car.
@@mohammadhaziq2318 and the crazy amount of downforce the F1 car generates.
@@toddballinger yeahh n because of aerodynamics design and lower central gravity makes it all happen.
The biggest difference is the braking.
Red Bull is a great ambassador for F1. They do some amazing things with their cars
@Eddie Sloan lmfao shut up man
@Eddie Sloan they're not forcing anyone to buy their drinks LMFAO. They just made a great business and made a name for themselves so they are able to sell their drinks for that much profit. Why would you sell your product for less if the demand is the same for a higher price. And if you think it's a 'rip off', then just dont buy it. If people want spend their money on it thats their own choice.
@Eddie Sloan getting educated can also do miracles. You should try it
@Eddie Sloan i love red bull, but ill never understand how they convince the public that 8oz of redbull should cost the same as almost EVERY other energy drink brands 16oz
They're imaginative but in this very case they just copied something Ferrari did several years before.
Check out the end of the video. It's much more impressive viewed from the top.

@justsomeguy Do you even know what the Doppler effect is?
Wow! Hats off to whoever calculated the timing of the car starts to get an ending like that!
each car probably did a few laps to get the time needed to complete a lap then used the difference to calculate the offset of each car's starting time.
Its not really that difficult, every car fits in a certain class
@@thirdjaruda4202 yeah it would only take like 3-5 laps each to figure out the average laptime then just use the difference as the head starts the "math" (if you can call it that) would literally take 1 second
I used to race in a motorcycle organization that would have a race like this. Any bikes but your start times were based on your best race lap of the day. Sometimes someone did some bad math, but sometimes there would be some close finishes.
@@JoshuaTootell yeah that is the simplest way to calculate it, and fastest racers start last, everyone starts 1 by 1, based on the time gap between their best laps

The difference between the C63 and the V8 Supercar is smaller than the difference between the F1 car and the V8. F1 is just on a whole other level of engineering.
Most of the difference, it's in aerodinamics, and traction, the f1, being that short in height, can take the turns a lot faster.
@@amplyfier you also forgot weight.

“race” car vs RACE car vs THE RACE CAR
Nobody called C63 a race car, so don't know what you're talking about.
F1 are the best race cars made, these things outpace anything else.
Problem if you want entertaining races, it's too fast to really fight and the regulations on top of it, which don't allow it either.

Having heard and felt the Redbull RB7 first hand at Silverstone i can safely say the experience was like trying to be torn in half by raw a soundwave as it passes, it's truly sad that these engines are no longer in F1 as it's a truly awesome sound !
i know what you mean and agree 100%.
i was there in Abu Dhabi in 2013 to watch one of the last ever races of the V8 era.
the ear plugs were a must if you wanted to make sure you went home without permanent damage to your hearing, or temporary aching in your head.
subsequently i've attended 2 races in the V6 turbo hybrid era (Shanghai '15 and Abu Dhabi again in '17). it just doesn't compare.
I was lucky to attend a couple of F1 races in Long Beach, CA in the early 80s... Talk about loud!!!
If they did this in the USA and replaced the V8 Supercar with a NASCAR, the NASCAR would probable have to leave the start line before the C63.
***** Pure speed, nascar is better, but it's too heavy in the corners...
Wub-0-Tronic F1 top speed = 233mph
NASCAR top speed = 217mph
Consider the fact that the F1 car was designed to produce enough down force to go around corners.
"unofficially" the F1 top speed is 257mph when BAR set the car up to produce enough down force to stop it leaving the ground
It's all about corning speed. F1 cornering speeds. Unless it's banked NASCAR don't turn worth a crap.
They turn left ok.....its the right handers they struggle with......a V8 supercar would leave it for dead.

As soon as I saw the F1 car enter the final straightaway, I knew exactly what was going to happen
The sound of Formula 1 car engines always gives me goosebumps... it is the most beautiful engine sound on earth!
I remember the sound the ohc chevy v8's made at Indianapolis qualifying when I was a kid in the mid 90's when you could still tour the pits and watch the teams work on and tune the cars the Northstar v8's sounded real good too they just couldn't keep them together long enough to finish a race with one
@@79huddy yeah man, racing sounds and sights are awesome... too bad for the issues they had keeping things in shape in that racing event... can't say I ever went to one of those.
The result is hardly surprising, but it's nice to see it demonstrated so dramatically.
The F1 car was like "lol, you dare challenge me, mortal?"
4:41 everyone chilling
That one guy: *this is loud*
Yo 😂
Here's a comparison for you. As far as I'm aware, a the V8 Supercar track record around Australia's legendary Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst is somewhere around the 2.04 mark. But in 2011 Jenson Button went for a tool around the mountain, quite gently, and did it in 1.48.
It's also worth noting that the Vettel's pole time in 2011 in the RB7 was 2.5 seconds slower than Lewis Hamilton's pole time in the Mercedes in 2018. 1.21.5
The aerodynamics and the cornering speed from that orgasmic double diffuser RedBull... Goddamn
Imagine being in the AMG or the V8 and hearing the high pitched F1 getting louder and louder and knowing full well there’s nothing you can do…talk about a feeling of helplessness.

Yeah sure lol
Dank Meemees 😂
Keep in mind that this was in 2014, and they said one of the fastest, not THE fastest. They aren’t going to put a +$1,000,000 hypercar on the track. They are trying to show you that even a $200,000 (at the time) road car STILL loses to an F1 car with a MASSIVE head start.
Pvpi banks if you don’t think an AMG C63 is fast you know shit all
@@tywilkins2584 in 2014 you could've probably bought like 10 sports cars in the same price region (give or take 20 or so grand) that would've been faster. Sure it has a big engine but Mercs drive like tanks. They showed their point but that Merc is definitely not even close to being the fastest road car in its price class, so the point is it's pretty damn silly to say that. But they drive what the sponsors tell them to, of course.
Im still remember this is the only video about F1 when F1 didnt have any channel on youtube.
There was recently a redbull event in Bucharest where they showed the RB7. The goosebumps I had from the sound of that car...
Would love to see this comparison done with 5 cars. Average daily driver, sport coupe(saloon), exotic super car, a GT3 class car then the F1. And put them on the Nurburgring. That would be amazing.
Pretty sure you just described TouristenFahrten days, I see videos of crazy mixes of vehicles , including campers/RVs. I'm just not sure if they time those laps (for fun) or not.
Edit: I don't think F1 cars can go around the 'ring though, something about it being too bumpy
There's cars and then there's formula racing... a whole different ball park.
That was fun to watch. Clever spacing too. Thanks!

would be more interesting to compare a f1 with supercars like a veyron, spyder or enzo.
I'm pretty sure an F1 car is 40 seconds faster in Spa
They'd get destroyed anyway.
The F1 is also V8
f1 car will still beat them.
It’s not all about straight line top speed, an F1 car can accelerate and corner a hell of a lot quicker then any super car.

Cmon dude...We know you’re trying to promote the car but don’t say something as absurd as that.
There are plenty of faster “road cars” you can buy.
The car is fast but far from the fastest or even “one of the fastest”.
Maybe the "road cars" as in terms of average Joe car. You know, the normal car that people could actually buy and use as a daily commuter. Not some exotic hypercar with crazy price tags such as Ferrari or Bugatti.
@@Hunter-vx5pn doesn't matter if it's an 'exotic hypercar' that the average Joe can't afford, it's still a road car. Road car simply means the vehicle can be legally driven on public roads, so the OP is right, that merc is slow as molasses.
lol technically every car is a road car....what they meant here was a "consumer looking sedan roadcar" when you start talking about cars that are faster than the c63, you start to get into the "supercar" "exotic" etc type of cars. Road car means an actual consumer daily driver.

I'm more and more convinced that NOTHING can beat an F1 car.
It's a formula 1 track, exactly the type of race track for which this cars are designed. It may be possible to beat them in top speed on a long straight track (like a long runway), but not on a race track where fast cornering counts. This cars have massive downforce, nothing can take a corner like them.
For a while, the 919 Evo topped Merc's F1 records at Spa until 2020, I believe.
@@simonm1447 But realistically, the engineering that goes into these F1 cars, even more so now with the V6 Turbohybrid, would produce the fastest car of any type if they put their minds to it. If they can pull over 1000bhp from a tiny 1.6L V6 with strict fuel flow and RPM regulations, you have to imagine what they could do if they just went out and built a dragster, or a car designed for Oval racing.
F1 teams are the pinnacle of car engineering, whether it's aerodynamic, engine, transmission, tyres, brakes, there isn't anything the teams can't build better than anyone else.
We see it with Dallara, they are amazing car designers, yet they can't come close to designing a good enough F1 car for Haas despite getting help from Ferrari.

And to think that they are still heavily limited by rules. Last year the Nürburgring lap record was smashed by the Porsche 919 Evo Tribute, a heavily modified LMP1 Hybrid that was made to show what a Le Mans car could do if there weren't any imposed limitations - it was several seconds faster than F1 cars at the time. Now the record belongs to F1 again and they didn't even break their limitations. I'd love to see what they could do with the cars without any restrictions.
