Silverstone - again, identical layout Qualifying in MotoGP was in the wet so we'll go by fastest lap in the race. 2:02:3 by Maverick Vinales 1:35:5 by Nico Rosberg. Bikes don't stand a chance. It's just how it is, there is no downforce to compete and you can't even categorize them together. They're both the pinnacle of racing for 2 and 4 wheels. The only thing going for the bikes is their top speed which again is only slightly faster but the cars get there faster.

Oh. Oh, see, this is something I've always needed. Never really had a head-to-head comparison of an F1 car to something I have seen in real life. I know how stupid fast these bikes are, since there is a half-mile stretch in front of my work and those bikes fly past daily. So, to see the F1 car just cruise past the bike really puts the speed into perspective.
It's not about power, it's about geometry. On a normal street sports bike acceleration to 100kmh is not really limited by power, but by the risk of doing a wheely. Same for cornering. You can only lean over so much which limits cornering speed. Note that the bike in the video is not leaning nearly as much as a normal MotoGP bike, but even if it were it would be outclassed by an F1 car.
Werdna Dracip, even without numbers to back his claim if you realize why both race vehicles are faster than normal vehicles you would see the logical reason an F1 car is going to always be faster (given current technology). Both have much better power to weight ratios than normal vehicles and both are lighter than normal vehicles. This means in and of itself that both should accelerate, brake and corner better than normal production vehicles. Where the advantage of the F1 car begins to show itself is that it will never accelerate hard enough to lift it's front end and it has probably 6 times (if not more) square inches of rubber on the ground to push itself forward. The F1car is not dependent on leaning into a corner to achieve the most grip so it can transition from turn to turn quicker than a biker that has to lean up and over to the other side to have the grip to turn. Finally, Aerodynamics, the F1 car generates more of it at speed than the car itself weighs while the bike generates no down force at all.
In motorcycles, it is inevitable to lose on cornering in comparison with F-1. In the straight-line speed game, I was quite relieved because I was showing a good performance.

Kind of silly this was done. The constant battle the motorcycle rider deals with centrifugal force, while the F1 does not (because of insane down forces), motorcycle rider might as well have been on a horse.

This means they could do the same to Max if he f*cks up. Some say it is a strategic move by Red Bull to ensure Max stays with them the next season but even then you can't do this to Kvyat. It is extremely harsh on him and let's not forget he got a podium in China. Also I believe that the Toro Rosso is almost as fast as the Red Bull. Yes kvyat got a podium, but some top drivers did not finish and Riccardo started all the way for om the back and ended only second away from his team mate. And yes, his contract Wil ensure that max will be out of reach for a red seat or an silver arrow. Also the update is coming, and the Red Bull is known for its incredible down force, when the engine gets up to speed I believe they can get back in business just like with vettel back in the day. So it's rather harsh for kvyat, but he now has a lot of races ahead of him and it's time to prove himself, if he crushes Carlos than who knows what happens. Max is young, shows great potential, overtaking, positioning and confidence, sains doesn't and can't handle pressure, and kvyat crashes out and doesn't show the pace (with China as said the exception). But oh well, excited for Spain and I'll be rooting for max. But what can we say, we're Dutch, we've never ever had this much potential from a Dutch driver!

Then we have Williams after those guys and only then you get Red Bull (the way it stands at this moment imo). Correct cause bike gets 1g while F1 can get multiple Gs
Werdna Dracip, even without numbers to back his claim if you realize why both race vehicles are faster than normal vehicles you would see the logical reason an F1 car is going to always be faster (given current technology). Both have much better power to weight ratios than normal vehicles and both are lighter than normal vehicles. This means in and of itself that both should accelerate, brake and corner better than normal production vehicles. Where the advantage of the F1 car begins to show itself is that it will never accelerate hard enough to lift it's front end and it has probably 6 times (if not more) square inches of rubber on the ground to push itself forward. The F1car is not dependent on leaning into a corner to achieve the most grip so it can transition from turn to turn quicker than a biker that has to lean up and over to the other side to have the grip to turn. Finally, Aerodynamics, the F1 car generates more of it at speed than the car itself weighs while the bike generates no down force at all.

And it doesn't matter that he would lap me 15 times despite the fact that I won some karting championships (he would probably beat me around the track even if I was driving the F1 car and he was riding an office chair)

I've been riding fast sports bikes for over 25 years, this is like me on my bike against a moped. No fair race, more like a show. The bike is NO match for the F1 period!.
Kind of silly this was done. The constant battle the motorcycle rider deals with centrifugal force, while the F1 does not (because of insane down forces), motorcycle rider might as well have been on a horse.

Jim Sagubigula In a way f1 drivers don't have to worry as much as bikers, about centrifugal forces pulling them off track or even turning their vehicle over when cornering at high speeds because of the downforce that is created by the aerodynamics of the car. That's why an f1 car has a tighter yet safe turning radius at high speeds. The fact that bikes work gyroscopically in order to maintain balance is a key aspect of this. But he's argument FOR the motoGP bike against the f1car goes out the window with the fact that even in straight road sprints, without any serious centrifugal forces to worry about, the f1 car would still win.

bikes have the advantage of being able to lean in during the turn, effectively reducing g forces felt on the body

+baassie123 Hey Baas I am Dutch as well and I think it is a ridiculous call by Red Bull. The fact that they replace Daniil by Max for one mistake is BS in my opinion. This means they could do the same to Max if he f*cks up. Some say it is a strategic move by Red Bull to ensure Max stays with them the next season but even then you can't do this to Kvyat. It is extremely harsh on him and let's not forget he got a podium in China. Also I believe that the Toro Rosso is almost as fast as the Red Bull. Of course I am cheering for Max and I always will be but no matter what Red Bull's excuse, this is simply not cool.

Yes kvyat got a podium, but some top drivers did not finish and Riccardo started all the way for om the back and ended only second away from his team mate. Kvyat is only on f1 a year longer than max, and str wanted to make room and put Him in rb. If max has more potential to get the most of the Rb, which till now seems so, why not? And yes, his contract Wil ensure that max will be out of reach for a red seat or an silver arrow. Also the update is coming, and the Red Bull is known for its incredible down force, when the engine gets up to speed I believe they can get back in business just like with vettel back in the day. So it's rather harsh for kvyat, but he now has a lot of races ahead of him and it's time to prove himself, if he crushes Carlos than who knows what happens. Max is young, shows great potential, overtaking, positioning and confidence, sains doesn't and can't handle pressure, and kvyat crashes out and doesn't show the pace (with China as said the exception). But oh well, excited for Spain and I'll be rooting for max. But what can we say, we're Dutch, we've never ever had this much potential from a Dutch driver!
+baassie123 Yeah you're right the fact that Kvyat got 3rd place in China is mainly due to the fact that some key players were out of the race. But that is also why I am very curious to see if Max will do better than Kvyat or even Ricciardo. The Mercs are just unbeatable at this point (especially when they will get Hamilton's car in order) and the Ferrari's are the first losers. Then we have Williams after those guys and only then you get Red Bull (the way it stands at this moment imo). What I am trying to say is that only with some bad fortune for the other teams Red Bull will be able to score some decent points. Wether Danniil or Max is behind the wheel, I really doubt it will make such a great difference. But it is as you say, times may change for Red Bull and before we know it, our guy will be on his first podium :)
PS. Just out of curiosity, what do you think would happen if Max got a podium finish at the US GP? He is under 21 years old so he hasn't reached the minimum age to consume alcohol in the United States. Do you think they will shoot him with a bazooka if he drinks the champagne (let's not forget it is Texas where the GP will be held, just kidding :P) or what? I'm curious!

F1 car has 20 times the rubber on the track than a bike so will always be way quicker on a short circuit track like that.
All short,tight corners,with no chance for the bike to get any decent corner speed,almost all hairpins.
Plus you are talking about a multi million pound car up against a bike that costs £250k tops,if that is a WSB level superbike,and not a fairly standard £20k R1M.

This gokart track doesn't even let the F1 car get out of 3rd gear and really stretch its legs. If it were a propper track it would have anialated the bike by x10.
