I'm a 15 year old male who does contemporary dancing. I never took a ballet class and i didn't even know the basics. In 3-6 months there is this audition for a performing arts school so i needed to at least know the basics. When I did this for the first time (today) I was sweating, it is pretty hard and I feel terrible. I really want to get in the school and I will continue doing this but my chances aren't looking that great. Thanks for teaching us the basics of ballet and it inspires me to work harder! ❤️
Due to coronavirus outbreak my ballet classes are cancelled. Now I practice at home and this is the most helpful ballet barre follow along video found on youtube. Thank you!
Well I want to thank you Alessia - I started ballet at 5 years of age and taught ballet while my 2 sons were growing up. I am now 62 and it is only thanks to discovering your ballet workouts during the first lock down that I re-ignited my passion for keeping ballet fit myself and I have been doing your ballet barre for the last 2 years. It has been amazing and now, even when I am away and don't have access to the internet, I can hear your voice encouraging me and so glad that I discovered you ~ thank you Alessia. As long as I can I'll be enjoying ballet thanks to you.
Just wanted to paint you a funny picture;)...35 yr old tattooed tomboy that doesn't want to look fat in her cosplay armour... clinging for life to the staircase, as cats help.😸..but learning a great deal. Can already see my abs again, flexibility has increased considerably, not to mention coordination! It's not pretty but I love you're workouts so much! Thank you! mrrowh!!😺
eyyy nice another cosplayer! I'm pretty much in the same boat, I don't wanna look fat in my cosplay and I am also planning on learning a dance for one of my cosplays so I need to improve my technique
I found this and immediately liked the way this “class” was structured. I felt like you were holding my hand and guiding me yet also easy enough to follow where I could do it alone at certain points!
I haven't done ballet in four to five years! and during this quarantine I have gotten back into dance. Also this video reminded me of how much I love ballet so thank you for the video! I enjoyed following along.
Ok, I just have to tell you the same super exciting news. Ive been using your videos for about 2 months now, and I'm more flexible now than I was when I was a kid and I did martial arts. I was so excited last night I had to pop in and show my b/f how I could touch my forehead to my leg. Lol. Thank you, Alesia! Muah!
Yes! Ballet will do that to you. When I was a kid, I used to do ballet, and I used to be able to touch the back of my head with my feet. I couldn’t do it at first but after doing ballet for some time I was able to. This workout is basically what I used to do. It’s very familiar to me.
Decided to begin working out during the summer because all I do is stay home and sleep and eat, this made my hips hurt so much! It was really fun doing it despite being in pain once in a while lol
just wanted to say this is the perfect slow paced follow along routine to do at home every day. I am glad I finally found the perfect video for my needs, thank you!
Can you make a video for *complete*, absolute beginners like me? One where you show slowly, step by step, how to do for example a plié? I tried to do this video but I feel like I was just kind of swinging my legs in different directions without really knowing what I'm supposed to be doing, lol. But it was fun and I'd love to actually learn to do it properly! :)
Hello :) we do have everything you ask for at the lazy Dancer studio :) Ballet Foundation, Ballet Plans and Detailed explanations of all the steps :) You can find all the details here www.lazydancertips.com/ Lots of love Alessia
I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. I got injured and had to spend a year off dancing and I am now back in class with alot of children do much younger than me. And I am working so hard to get my technique back to work my way through what I have missed and your videos are so great at helping me increase my strength and technique. thank you
Im literally in exactly the same boat as you. Had a bad injury and havent done ballet for a year... Going back to a class of kids younger than me and Im so nervous.
I took ballet classes from the age of 6 to 14. I have nothing but happy memories from dance class. This video has inspired to want to do this again. I loved doing the barre exercises! Thank you for this video. I’m a new fan and subscriber. 💕
Omg! Finally someone who takes their time and not rushes through like their high on something...THANK YOU!!!!!! I just wish I was more flexible but I hope the more I do it the more flexible I’ll become but for now I shall try my best. PLEASE DO MORE VIDEOS!! For those of us that are barre-challenged you are a breath of fresh air, thank you.
Hello I'm french and I'm 43 years old, I have stopped dancing for 15 years because of health problem, I try to begin again, and I'm very happy to have found you. I find it's a little bit faster but thanks to youtube we can choose slower... To feel better the body I prefer doing exercices at my own rythm. Sorry for my bad english ! Thanks for your works
Just got back into training after a bunch of injuries which meant an hour ballet class was too painful for me but since quarantine, your videos are super useful and my body i=s getting stronger again. Thank youuuuuuu
15 minutes of high cardio, barely sweat. 10 minutes of abs followed by 3 different arm exercises 15 rep 3 sets, sweat a little. I then do this amazing video and I wish I put a headband on omg the sweat was real and this video is fantastic and I am so grateful I found you!
Wolfie welcome to the madness of ballet! :D You did fantastically! I promise i'll kee you pointing your toes all the time! Keep up the brilliant work! Love Alessia :D
Out of all the barre videos this speaks to my heart the most. I'm 56 now and have been out of touch since I was 24 but you have so inspired me to reacquaint myself with the best exercise around. I miss it so much! I look forward to viewing and doing more! Thank you so much!
I'm sadly not a dancer anymore and have some chronic health problems that make a lot of exercise difficult or impossible. But I miss ballet so much. This is the perfect mild workout for me that gets my heart rate going and stretches me out in all the right ways. Thank you so much for doing this!
Even though I had to take breaks I really enjoyed the workout. It was a wonderful pace and I loved how you explained and demonstrated each move. Thank you.
I practice ballet as a rejuvenating hobby and to focus on muscle control. I haven't done a class in a few months due to covid and this was a great video for getting back into it. Thank you for posting!
Hi Alessia! I just wanted to say thank you. I have never subscribed to any youtube channel in my life, but today I crossed the threshold and subscribed to your channel. I have an 11-year-old who just loves you. We fondly refer to you as Aunt Alessia, and whenever we do, it's with a bright grin! Thank you for sharing your love of ballet and professional expertise with such enthusiasm and humility. I look forward to my Tuesday and Friday "classes" every week. Now that I've subscribed, I really look forward to expanding my limits and my daughter's. Keep doing what you're doing! We love you, Aunt Alessia
Thank you for this video! At last a great teacher and SLOW. All the videos on RUclips do it so fast. I have a herniated disc in my back and this is the only workout I can do without pain because it’s slow. Please do more! Loved the focus on form as well! Nice job!
i really liked this barre ballet workout and i also used chair!! i'm a beginner so this was perfect for me. thanks :) i want to practice again tomorrow fondu.
I really love watching ballet and I'm tall and skinny so I thought: why not? Even though I'm terribly nonathletic. I made it to 12:27 before my legs were shaking too much and I always get so many compliments on my calf muscles lmao! Great video, I'm super impressed at your gracefulness during these. Hi Alessia! I am doing your workouts consistently and I can say that it is helping me a lot and some improvement has been done already.I will keep on doing and thank you so much for your video lessons! Stay well and safe!
Hey thanks so much. Haven't done a classical class in decades. Tried some of the online company classes which were a little quick but really enjoy your patient fundamental approach.
Woah I always wanted to do ballet as a kid and now I'm going to try to get into a class in a few months. This short little routine absolutely murdered me but I'm excited to work on flexibility and it felt really good for posture as well as my stupidly flexible hips that like rotating outwards, as in plie
I have a hard time following most exercise videos. Yours are clear if one goes through the basics, you encourage enough for me to hang in there, and .. that brush exercise was so fun!
just finished this ^_^ such a great workout. my turnout is a measly 100 °degrees but i learned it's about the inner thigh muscles and engaging the core to keep the form! so when doing plié i won't get the perfect angles but i finally take care to not stick my bum out lol. for someone sitting 8h a day due to work I believe ballet barre workouts are the best.
I am begginer (I had 10 classes of basics of ballet) and I really like this video. It was very good excersice and that 16 minutes were very quickly. Thank you :)
Now I’ve wanted to dance ballet since I was 14, but there’s no classes anywhere nearby and I just stumbled across this?? I absolutely love it 🥺😭 I’m determined to take classes sometime, but this is perfect until then (and probably after let’s be real)!
This is so good... I did ballet (for adults) 6 years ago. I'm saving to buy your whole program because this single video has me feeling soo sweaty but so good!
Oh Cornelia, I'm so glad you are here and dancing! Enjoy every step and looking forward to seeing you at the Lazy Dancer Studio! Lots of love and happy dancing Alessia :)
This is fantastic. I haven't danced in about 5 years because life got so busy after graduating university (used to love it) and this is helping me rebuild those muscle slowly. Glad to see a beginning one as I feel like I'm totally starting from scratch. :/
Oh my goodness Alessia!! You are amazing! This is such a beautiful class! I have just started ballet again after 20 years and this class was so liberating! You are just divine, your personality is so refreshing and you are doing a great job :) Love Nat xoxo
Nat welcome back to the world of ballet!!! :D:D I'm so glad you are having fun and most of all, i'm super happy you are dancing again! Lots of Love Alessia :)
always loved the look of ballet and barre and would love to get into it so i typed in ballet workout and found this!! amazing! subscribed and will definitely do more of your videos :)
haha she is amazing! i wish my ballet teacher was so fun! please make more beginners videos! i used to study ballet for a lot of years but now i don''t have the strength and i want to start again! your videos are nery helpfull
So... this routine was not slow for me lol. I did some ballet like 15 years ago or so, and have been lately wanting to retake lessons as a hobby and for the phisical benefits, but I'm still relearning all the basics. I have to say, I did have some fun with this workout, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to practice it!
Hi! I am 43 years old and haven't danced since the age of 14...I've made it through minute 16 of the Mini Barre class. This video gives me some variety. Wow, thank you for writing!
Thank you so much for the video. I broke my femur really badly 5 and a half years ago and still walk with a limp due to week glute/thigh/damaged quads on the injured leg. I have done this video several times over the last couple of weeks (I did a fair bit of ballet when younger - up to senior grade/grade 5). So far so good - I am getting better at standing firm on the injured leg.... I'm hoping this will help me take all my weight on bended knee on injured leg (I can't do the fondue properly standing on injured leg but I will keep at it and report on progress. I'm going to try the other videos too now from tomorrow because although I feel stiffness after doing them, it's not real pain as such. xx
@@SpazzyJazzi Hi Jasmine - yes I have. I haven't had chance to do the barre for the last few weeks as I'm now baby sitting my granddaughter three days a week and other days are so busy catching up. I can now walk down through the muddy fields in wellies which is amazing, but have kind of overdone it so been incredibly stiff so this morning I just did the barre again. I still have trouble doing the bend on the supporting leg in fondues to the front and side but I will get there!
@Dreamer Girl very good thanks. Pain free. I limp a bit when I have done a lot of exercise the day before and my muscles get stiff but otherwise I am starting to forget i did it
Wow great! Thanks. I wish I had seen this video before going to my first killer barre class. I will continue practicing the essentials before I take another class.
I've been doing this workout a couple times a week for the past few months and my boyfriend has been working from home and works behind me while I'm working out. I didn't know he's been paying attention and then yesterday he drops this on me "The queen saw cashews so she's not coming!" I can't stop laughing so thank you Alessia for the channel and for making me and my boyfriend laugh!
I was scared to be a little bored but it's actually really cool, a good way to focus on the movement and the muscles without being distract by trying to remember next step. It's also a good warning up for other more advanced barre routines. Thanks for the video :)
New subscriber! It's a snow day so my group exercise class was cancelled. But the gym opened the studios so people could do their own thing. Your video, another on Barre technique and an aerobic Barre video for me through. I feel amazing and am happy to incorporate this and your other videos into my home practice.
love this so much!! i'm starting ballet in (hopefully) a few weeks or in autumn and i want to prepare a bit- these are amazing, thank you for your amazing videos

28 year-old tattooed man here, falling over, sweating, utterly convinced ballet is black magic.
Took ballet for many, many years and now, at 64, going back to my first love for exercise. Great video!!
This is fantastic Elyse! Keep on dancing, it keeps us young! :) Love Alessia
This is exactly what I did in ballet class for warming up, but this is at a much slower pace which I GREATLY appreciate
I found this and immediately liked the way this “class” was structured. I felt like you were holding my hand and guiding me yet also easy enough to follow where I could do it alone at certain points!

Thank you. That was fun. There's nothing lazy about this workout. I'm 0ver 40 and not as spry as I used to be. It's a slow..yet vigorous workout.
I’m sweating 😍😍 I haven’t done ballet for years. This is incredible thank youuu 😍😍😍😍
I've never done ballet. I took this as my first "class" and I'm a little tired. But it meant a lot to me. I've done it twice and it's great! 🙂🩰👑🩰🩰
I do not have any experience doing ballet so I truly appreciate this slowed down routine. It was a lot of fun!
Glad you enjoyed it Sharon! We are all dancers here even if you've never done it before! Welcome to the Lazy Dancer Family! Love Alessia
My new favourite. Love the way you teach all those little tips help so much --- oranges corset no houses. Thanks so much
You are more than Welcome Elle! :D Thank you ! Ciao Alessia
I love this work out. So fast and effective, as well as feeling beautiful! Thank you.
Greetings from Seoul. I'm enjoying ballet with your videos every day. Your smile and voice makes me cheer up. Thank you very much.
great short work out for the beginning of lockdown in England. thanks !
I've wanted a slower video to focus on proper alignment and foot articulation and this is absolutely perfect! Thank you so much!!
thank you for this! decided to take my first ballet class online during quarantine and this was super fun and easy to follow!
I have a so bad memory at the dance classes. So Thanks to you I can progress at my pace. Thanks so much.
i really liked this barre ballet workout and i also used chair!! i'm a beginner so this was perfect for me. thanks :) i want to practice again tomorrow fondu.
I tried to imitate it but failed. Maybe on the 2nd or 3rd try I'll be able to retain some of my dignity.
You are the best ballet teacher I have ever had. I love the simplicity and the flow of your classes, and you open and wonderful energy, that makes me want to continue, even when it gets challening. Thank you for all your videos :)
Stopped ballet three months ago to join the German military. Now after basic training this is my first ballet workout and it was way more difficult than I expected.
This is great on my feet. Broke both ankles almost 2 years ago. Thanks for this
This was my first barre workout. Thank You!
This video is an oldie, but oh so goldie! I keep coming back to it for getting better at the barre. Thank you, lovely Alessia
Many thanks. I really enjoyed the workout with you. Incredibly relaxing especially as I sit at my piano all day long. Many thanks again.
Hi Alessia! I am doing your workouts consistently and I can say that it is helping me a lot and some improvement has been done already.I will keep on doing and thank you so much for your video lessons! Stay well and safe!

just finished this ^_^ such a great workout. my turnout is a measly 100 °degrees but i learned it's about the inner thigh muscles and engaging the core to keep the form! so when doing plié i won't get the perfect angles but i finally take care to not stick my bum out lol. for someone sitting 8h a day due to work I believe ballet barre workouts are the best.
I am begginer (I had 10 classes of basics of ballet) and I really like this video. It was very good excersice and that 16 minutes were very quickly. Thank you :)

Pain free. I limp a bit when I have done a lot of exercise the day before and my muscles get stiff but otherwise I am starting to forget i did it
@Dreamer Girl thank you !
This is so easy I did it and I'm a very beginner and I'm not tired thanks 💙
Holly molly shih tzu! That was some hard work! This is the closet thing to taking a dance class I've done in 10 years! Thank you for posting!
Bravooooooo!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Don't have anything to hold onto so my arm was out to the side pretending throughout the whole thing. Amazing!
Wow great! Thanks. I wish I had seen this video before going to my first killer barre class. I will continue practicing the essentials before I take another class.
This was so great and I'm finally catching on!

:D
I've been doing this workout a couple times a week for the past few months and my boyfriend has been working from home and works behind me while I'm working out. I didn't know he's been paying attention and then yesterday he drops this on me "The queen saw cashews so she's not coming!" I can't stop laughing so thank you Alessia for the channel and for making me and my boyfriend laugh!
I was scared to be a little bored but it's actually really cool, a good way to focus on the movement and the muscles without being distract by trying to remember next step. It's also a good warning up for other more advanced barre routines. Thanks for the video :)
I'm so pleased you enjoyed it Noemie! Thank you lots ! Ciao Alessia :D
