It doesn't impact sex (only sperms go through this canal, the hormones from the testis use an other way, so sex drive, erection and ejaculation stay the same), the operation is quick and done under local anesthesia. A few month after the operation you do a sperm count to check that the body didn't healed the canal.
Upsides : basically 100% efficiency as contraceptive; can't be forgotten; no hormonal impact (unlike the pill or implant); without interventions afterward (unlike IUDs)
Downside : for life (although now it can be reverse in some case); sometimes has to be done several time the first time (if the body healed the canal); it can be hard to find a practician to do it (but that society/sexism's fault, not the method's)
If you're sure you don't want (anymore) kids, and with stable partner(s) (only condoms and dams protect against STDs), it's a great method.
