YES the Barn Find Ferrari 512 BBI is coming back to the Channel Next Week !!!
Before someone asked you already in the case!! Haha
Yes yes yes!
Yes!!!! Yes!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
A welcome return!
Great News!!
I remember the days when a cherry F40 was worth $300k. These current prices are ridiculous. 😳🇺🇸
I know ....long gone now. everyone missed that boat
I picked one up in the UK for £320k not to long ago
It's a shame we'll never have times like that again, the next generation will never know the joy of any of these cars, let alone even afford food and water.
@@webbozilla Sounds about as likely as new runways having been built at airports specifically designed for flying pigs.
@@noth606 ^^
You did so much digging in this video that your next vehicle needs to be an excavator!
Lol I noticed the amount of digging I did when i edited the video LOL
@@Ratarossa It was funny and still a great and very interesting video! A real mystery tour!
This was a banger update....can't wait to see it on your channel
The history of the vehicle will make it more desirable. If I was visiting a car show and they had 20 f40s lined up I'd make a bee line straight to that car. It's fascinating to know what that car has witnessed and who has driven it.
Good story & investigative work, very interesting! Thanks for update! 🙏
Can’t wait for more 512 content! Great video, Scott!
Again very interesting video. Thank you Scott!
please paint the rat rod, i understand the asthetic is sentimental to you but you're doing a disservice to the beauty of the machine you have. Do a video series where you paint it yourself by hand to make it really yours, that way you can keep that personal sentimental feelings for the paint job
I might do that one day. Right now I have a BBI and 308 to get sorted first
This car should be called the F39. -1 for the previous owner.... but still an awesome piece of automotive history!
Exciting stuff, looking forward to the next instalment.
Great video, and great research man!
I love the Knight International advert for the car - "Actual photo of the car. Price 1.7 million Euros". Yeah, for 1.7 million Euros I'd quite like to see at least one photo of the actual car.
Lets see if they actually get the car
Would you like to talk offline ?
I really thought this was going to end with “… so I now own an F40!” Oh well. One day!
It's so rough it backfires and meows 😂
I guess it doesn't have the cat delete option.
Sounds more like a peacock
As an Iraqi born USA citizen for over 55 yrs, you have no idea how much I truly appreciate the efforts that you've put into this topic, it's very interesting story to know the fate of this car and there were many other models factory custom made sport cars he had in his collection, I wonder about their fate as well, thank you so much ....RIP Auday
@UCxF8NkFhDAi2nnFsdZq5OVg I knew it, A TROLL with fake name would pop up , however, lots of propaganda out there from the haters, but the reality and the truth people with brains like yours can not handle, by the way we were tough to respect the dead regardless, cause there is an ultimate judge who will declare the final verdict, RIP Auday a truly a brave and real man did not surrender fought till the end, and I personally and most Americans respect a man of honor... have a great day
Saw Nick Mason's real one blast past me a few weeks ago just outside Cirencester. Closely followed by his Aston Martin Ulster.
Rather nice!
Sand in the clam is always a rough time. :)
A friend in Midland, Tx bought one new in 91 and it was an amazing thing to see the first time and riding in it was a life changing experience.
No you didn’t. And no. And no.
@@ovallavo completely plausible, the oil money in Texas in crazy, my dads best friends family gets paid high 8 figures every year from chevron to use their land
@@ovallavo oh yes I did. Another family friend also owned an McLaren F1, an Enzo, a Diablo, and 5 Murci's. Lot's of money in Midland. Don't even get me started on the private jets. Lol
@@ovallavo You sound jealous.
@@Toxic2T tbh I mis-read the original post. I thought he meant Midlands UK which is a COMPLETELY different place. So I’m not jealous - just stupid…
A great update to a fascinating story. I'd love to know how it ends; the dream would be for you to buy and restore it! :-)
To quote Indiana Jones: "It belongs to a museum!"
With that 1.2 million dollar asking price for an F40 with two bad turbos running on six if you ever wonder why i really really hate people like currated with John Timerian who shows up on vinwiki, who somehow managed to get his hands on the vice testarossa, its because of people like that that people feel like those cars are worth a 1500% to 3000% more than the cost of what it took to build them, let alone what their actually worth, as the F40 should have stayed a 350 to 400 thousand dollar kit car, as that's what its worth, maybe 600, 700 based on if its federalized and their isnt that many, but not worth like three times that
as that is speculating car boom type crap, which is the problem with people like John Timerian, they jack up the price so the people who know what the machines are and appreciate them for what they are either cant afford them, or wont use them because their worth too much money
which defeats the whole purpose of the machine at hand, its a machine, it needs to be run much in the same way a wine needs to be drunk otherwise it just becomes a worthless hunk of metal and vinegar
as think about the BB, why had no one fixed it despite its pedegree, it was worth too much money, and would cost too much money to fix, and the guy didnt want to sell it on because hey where am I gonna get another one, and then the thing sits there and rots there for 15 years.
and the thing I always come back to about that slime salamander is that he has a miura there, and yet never drives it despite the fact that his pops was one of the guys to get the car back in the day and enjoy it for what it was
like that's having a beautiful woman and well never doing the deed with her, provided she's into you obviously
which is part of the reason why I havent told him about the two rusty miuras and the Urraco that I know about, as theirs this guy who's been restoring it and fixing it up piece by piece and I dont want him to get wind of it and ruin it for him, and a Jarma that is apparently local to where I live around here
that I could easily get a finders fee for, provided that guy wasnt lying and did actually know where it is.
funniest damn thing was all the people who didnt believe him yet I know the guy and his work and he wasnt joking, if he said he found one he found one.
Chill the fuck out.
????????
Good story :)
I have only ever seen two Ferrari F40's in person here in the UK
The 1st car was a Red Ferrari F40 on show many years ago at Earls Court Motor Show, London
The 2nd car was on show (presumably for sale) in a garage in Sunningdale, Surrey. The car was yellow with red seats. The year was around 1989. From what i recall, the garage had a Ferrari Logo, but also appeared to offer other makes of super-cars, as it would be the 1st and last time i got to see a silver Jaguar XJ220, which was parked outside, unlike the Yellow F40, which was parked inside.
Great channel lad always knew it bam bam
Interesting story, one I would be interested to see the outcome on. It would be great to see you working on your own cars again 👍 And including that BBI
I need an F40 to work on ....after the BBI of course
Exactly. It WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE YOU DO SOMETHING. DO SOMETHING! it’s like fucking Jackanory.
tnx for the video
You've already got my dream car ....black Testarossa Spider, don't need an f40 .
It's pretty cool that they special ordered the full CAT exhaust. It didn't quite purr, but it was definitely loud.. .. .... ......
Poor F40. Seen a rough existence
Can't believe it's been 2 years already!
Erbil isn't in a desert - it gets more than 20 inches of rain a year which is almost as much as London. Also, that just looks like dust on it, not sand.
I got offered this car in 2016/2017 by a friend of mine who exports machinery around the gulf region. He met the owner previously and wanted $200k in cash back then. I thought it was bollocks but seems like he was correct and could of got a good deal! Main issue back then if I recall, was how to get the car out the country even if possible to get registered
Thanks!
Thankyou very much
You had more success finding this Ferrari than Ed Bolian has searching for El Chapo's McLaren F1. Maybe you would be able to locate the F1 since Ed Bolian hasn't been able to locate it.
I actually know where the F1 Mclaren car is right now.... but thats Eds story .
The closes F40 to our channel is the poormans MR2! lmao! Awesome channel mate! Cheers from Virginia!
As an Iraq war veteran, who was there when Uday was killed, if I had the money I'd have brought it
I seen the pictures of him online a while ago, he ended up in a bad way. Glad the car made it I never knew that was his F40 until this video
Awesome can't wait to see the f40
I still believe you will own a F40. There was one for sale here near where i live in Lyndhurst at the Meridien Ferrari in the New Forest. Someone told me it was 1.75.milion pounds last year. I even have photos of it.
I will one day some how !
Who the heck leaves such a rare, beautiful car abandoned like that?
A dead man
its in belgium in st martens latem at the ferrari shop Monza
All I could think of the whole time watching this was you saying it was on the way to Georgia, USA and into Eb Bolians garage. Would be fitting if it landed there for some shrewd price.
Well you never know with Ed !
Even in it's terrible state, just the history of this car makes it valuable.
The video in 3:40 its old, also the video of the man working on it at the end and the photos. I had them a few years ago.
I’m still waiting for you to give Ratarossa Mexican blanket seats and door cards and maybe an ape hanger shifter. A primer paint job is not all that makes a rat rod a rat rod.
The attractive part of restoring an extremely rough exotic is the option for a resto-mod….rebuild it to F40 LMGTE specs and beyond with modern performance tuning.
Boy, they're tugging on your heart strings... The main issue I have with it is paperwork. You don't have a title it's not worth it and not worth your time. With that being said, one of those fake ones looked the business. Knowing you, you'd make a build like that be awesome. Well, we'll see won't we. Love you channel. Be well and safe..
Brilliant research its like a movie
Thanks
Minute 12:50
This replica looks just like one in Bucharest , that have been parked many years next to Intercontinental Hotel !!!
It was bad .....very bad
Even the cat was crying hearing the sound of the engine :D
No worries. That sound is just peacocks.
That’s the worst F40 I’ve ever seen. The Iraq F40 is tainted and maybe curse.
Grandioso! A Hitchcock thriller dressed in red riding through the Iraqi desert with Lawrence of Arabia on its back… LOVE IT!!! Go ahead and make us dream 🤙✊👍
I would love to finish this amazing adventure by seeing the car restored ...one day
I have found one ,,Fakerarri'' in The Nederlands, have a pictures of...
thanks bro
That blue on the F40 looks very cool , I’d either go for that blue or black
I've just bought the SurfShark VPN because of this video. I hope it fixes the problem I'm having....thanks dude.
Nice one ☝️ I use it all the time to find parts but also save money on flights and travel
Any videos or Info on that great replica with the Castrol badges
Email Saddam's daugfhter and tell her the F40 is in Kurdistan if she wants to come pick it up.
I'm pretty sure there's plenty of Kurds there who would love to meet her...
That Gas Monkey Garage got involved proves just how shady all of this is.
Interesting story about the car. When the day comes where you are aloud to reveal what country it’s going to.. please let us know then ..👍🏼😉
mint mate. at least you didnt get a lemon. still nice car. good chase. bring on the bbl
Bbi incoming
Very interesting Scott, I look forward to seeing if this car actually materialises!
Me to Mike, it would be great to see this story finish with a fairytale ending
Right now it sounds like a dog. And Cat f n
did you get that mug at the Ferrari factory in marenello? I got the red one just like it.
Subtle F40 dials in the back ground, doing the rebuild?
Well spotted
The one on Monkey Car Garage looked like a monstrosity with the over size wheels, it would have looked like better if they put the original style wheels. The high end F40 replica @14:00 looks great, even the other one would be great for bashing around town with little worry compered to the white knuckle experience of driving and original one through traffic.
Wild, and too cool, great story. "Objects in mirror may not be what they seem". LOL
@ 3:57 Damn that engine sounded terrible, that loud pop was not a burble, not sure if that was a cat or the car screaming 😂
its a bit sick that engine for sure
The _prancing horse_ trying to escape..🙉
Loved being a part of this!!
HUG, you should corner the supercar replica market. There are plenty of dreamers in the US that will send you cash for well done replicas. Just do the bodies and interior. People can add their own engine and transmission combos.
I’m the dude that’s selling it - hard work !!!!!
I wondered where Terry’s “F40” was, haven’t seen it in years. I was going to ask him the other week at Santa Pod.
Checkered history, but a very interesting provenance.
Fun fact, back in the 80s my dad was in the US Army during the Gulf War, he and his buddies bombed Saddam Husseins weapons.
I think that it will be interesting. For me the biggest issue is that I can't imagine any individual being able to demonstrate legitimate ownership of the vehicle.
Only one place in Europe that’s heading and I’d predict Monaco if not Maranello
Please visit David Piper. He is now 91 years old and that means he won't be with us for a lot longer. He has P4 Ferrari bits that will amaze. There should have been a road going version of the P4... just as there was for the GT40 and a few of the Porsche 917s... and even the 956-962 later on.
Ohhh I would love to do that what a fascinating chap
just think how much you would absolutely LOVE to get that F40 safely into your garage and get cracking on it...that is what we all want to...crowd funding?
ferrari "mechanic" needs to invest in a rolling tool cart and GET ALL THOSE PARTS OFF THE TOP OF THE FERRARI!!
Right! They could fall off the car and get damaged.
Think that F40 has your name on it as it deserves the Ratarossa treatment!!!!!!!
4:42 I don't get that phrase "running like a dog"
When dog's are really good runners?
It really seems that traction has been lost since the disappearance of the BBi, the content was so strong and some of the only vids I watched in their entirety on youtube.
What happened to the BBI?
@@fordyman All we know is #comingsoon
Agreed 👍
Starting on the BBI again next week buddy
@@Ratarossa That's going to be great, its not hate understand that but that car having such prestige as it did with a nuts and bolts build up like you was doing was real youtube to me, and it definitely served your channel well, the lack of visits on the subject just let it down a bit. Excited for it all to pop off!
Someone out there is a fan and will pay to have it.
No matter how sick the old owner was...
🔥Limited edition paint."Pink Fade"
Nice to see Jeremy Corbyn working on Ferraris after leaving the Labour party!! 🤣🤣🤣 Xx
That made me laugh
I bet the F40 is still the dream. I know it would be if I was you! Still quite fancy a 430
Hey now, dogs are quick!! That thing is a turtle😜😜😜
I bet it’s heading to the Shmuseum
at the end is just a car
This poor F40 had been through so much!
Who doesn't love a mystery?!
That F40 should be between $250,000-$325,000
agreed
U need to haggle the price n fetch yourself this f40 and save it....you can do it scott
I prefer the f50. Any of those in saddams collection that need rescuing?
I think this story increases the value
Personally, it should take place next to the ratarossa and be used, after a V good service.
Great story and lets hope it gets a good distance from the previous disgraceful owners.
cheers agreed it should be in my garage
Interesting story
Thanks
That was a crack up but would be the only f 40 most of us could afford 😂😂😂
great saga of Uday's F40
Hi Scott, I know the mechanic in the Iraq F40 video. It looks like the car is also going to him. Can i send you a PM? Regards, Marcel
That would be great buddy. Scott@ratarossa.com
Couldn't resist the camel
The Ferrari F40 that comes with a three year warranty for parts and labor, and a fatwa.
LOL
So, is the bag of Viagra still in the glove box??? lol
i love this story
