    This was actually the best fishing video I’ve seen in a very long time, if not the best I’ve ever seen.
    Too many other fishing channels quickly devolve into: “Hey everyone, come watch me fish at another undisclosed location.” Or there is of course the other fan favorite: “Oooo! Watch me eat whatever I catch!”
    These videos grow tiresome very quickly.
    However, there was much more helpful information in this video than in perhaps 50 other videos from other channels.
    BRAVO!!!

    Our list of fish from the canals so far is red ear, bluegill, tilapia, large, small and striped bass, common and grass carp, flathead and channel cats. We fish the canal that you have in your recent desert canal videos. Catching the panfish really is a struggle. Our most caught fish is small mouth bass.

    The flathead seems like a hard fish to find and catch. But there’s one fish that you missed. This fish is probably the most elusive out of the other species that live in the SRP canals. How they found their way there is a bit of a mystery And they are not easy to find or even catch for that matter. And that fish is…
    The striped bass

    • @TheFishinMagician20
      @TheFishinMagician20  3 месяца назад +1

      Correct! And because of that very reason, I decided not to include them. I know of one maybe 2 canal sections that have them so I figured that was very scarce and not worth including. I haven’t even tried to target them myself actually

    I have been fishing Az canals since 1980 . I caught a 30 pound stripper out of the canal I also caught my biggest flat head 26 pounds. I catch more large mouth bass in the canals then I do the lakes. Small crank baits from Walmart I use the cheap ones due to all the garbage you can get snagged on. Love the canal fishing.

      @@ThothTablet15kBC I don’t out of srp just because there’s a limited amount in there to begin with. The bass popular has been low the last couple years, and it takes fish some time to work there way through the canal system. Catfish there’s more on the west side but the pollution that is in the canals also can be pretty gross. Where does the Striper rank?

    • @TheFishinMagician20
      @TheFishinMagician20  3 месяца назад +3

      Since they’re only in like 1 maybe 2 sections of the canal and I have never caught one here in the urban areas I don’t include them.

    Nice vid, Mark! I'd say with artificials and flies, panfish are easiest, followed by bass, then carp, then catfish... I only know a few guys who can consistently catch flatheads on artificials (which would be pretty epic)! Arizona canals .... 🤙🤙🤙🤙✌️🎣

    • @TheFishinMagician20
      @TheFishinMagician20  3 месяца назад +1

      Heck yea definitely different using artificials only. Catfish I bet are a tough one on the fly haha

      Yes there is! But here in the Phoenix area they’re only in like maybe 2 sections that I know of and in small populations. So I didn’t include them

      The carp were easy to see because of the irrigation and really low water. I was at the grand canal. I'll try again later tonight

      I think they got in from irrigation ditches and then overpopulated. Not completely sure honestly
