I appreciate you going over some basic rigs and techniques. I watch guys that tell you they're fishing a certain rig, but they never tell you how to set it up and fish it. Thanks Bro.
Ayy appreciate the love man but there’s a lot of great dudes here doing big things as well just happy to be apart of the community! Thanks for watching man. Keep up the videos
Great video! I just moved to AZ from MN and am excited to fish some new spots. Not quite as many lakes down here so I’m relying heavy on RUclipsrs like you for all the best spots and baits. Thanks!
I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Finnley Uriah Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I can't tell you the scores of crappie and various other fish we caught on these jigs at Bartlett Lake. Cheap and very effective, slow to medium draw and up and down. Good Luck
Hey, there. Great video! Quick question for ya, even though this is an old video and you might not even see this. Total noob here. What were the hooks and hook sizes for the texas rig and the drop shot rig? Oh and the type of fishing line. Thank you so much!
Saw you at cabalas today , Just noticed you took money off my fly line , thanks for that bro 🤙🏻 thanks man ill keep watching these great videos nice too watch fishing in the state i grew up in
DesertBassin yah man no weird shit omm, but call 602-526-6935 if u wanna fish , been fishing my whole life i know all the things u show in your videos i was just inexperience in fly fishing
DesertBassin like swear ok everything doe no weird shit i know its strange too give u a number but it would be dope too have a youtuber fishing buddy prolly help w my own you tube ima start
Sweet video man, I never had that kinda luck at Bartlett. I agree with your rig choices, clear water dictates fishing in AZ. FYI, you have a twin that works at Cabela's coincidentally he works in the fishing section.
Nice to see some vids on our AZ lakes fishing just trying to fix a overheat issue on my boat cant wait to hit sag again it's been a couple weeks...Tight Lines...
On a drop shot. After knot is done run your line through the hook hole down toward the weight and it will keep your hook straight and stout, just my opinion....
You know, here in Texas, the south in general, a 5 plus pound largemouth is "meh". But those short little guys yall get look way more sporty. Yall have way better quality fish IMO. I look foward to fishing up there. Thanks for the tips
@@desertbassin literally man.. shits crazy here mad blue if you catch my drift. i use to live in AZ when i was younger. fell in love with it, now i’m moving back there with my girlfriend. just got into fishing, got me my first rod and reel the other day. cant wait to do some AZ FISHING!!
also. amazing videos. just have been stalking your whole page. good energy, positive vibes. good editing and camera work. good work homie, keep on grinding
Fishing the wacky through the worm work too? Or does that o-ring help the presentation? Great content by the way, I enjoy it for sure! Keep it up bro 👊🏼 🔥!!!
For smaller finesse worms I like to run the hook through the worm itself. However with larger worms like a senko, the o ring is a must have. If you run the hook through the worm without the o ring and make a strong cast there’s a good chance that the weight of the worm will rip away from the hook and cause you to cast your bait into oblivion. Hope this helps thanks for watching man 💪🏼
just curious why you leave your hook exposed and dont hide it on the dropshot like you do with a T-rig worm, ive always tried to hide my hook on the dropshot.
Cole Altherr it depends. I do throw it weedless at times just varies on the situation. Open water with rock or fishing deep water I’m always throwing an exposed hook. You’re getting the best hook up ratio with your hook exposed and in deep water the hook will penetrate better. Around cover like trees bushes grass etc. I think a weedless setup goes a long way. Sometimes you have to be getting in the cover to get those bites meaning you’re probably going to get snagged with an exposed hook. Hook up ratio isn’t as good so you have to be aware of that in deep water but allows you to get in the cover where the fish are. A lot of it is personal preference to. You want to fish confidently at all times! Thanks for checking out the video 🤙🏼
I live in Tempe, and I just moved here from Minnesota and I just can’t figure anything out... my birthday is tomorrow and I want to catch a bass for a present, I don’t have a boat down here... what should I be looking for?
Tying the Palomar wrong -> includes burning the line.. aka, the extreme twisting occurring after seating the knot. 1) lubrication needed 2) all loops must be even through the whole pulling process. 3) you will break off on an AZ 8lber
Never seen the o-ring deal for a whacky rig, seems like a lot of extra work. Everyone I've fished with up in Minnesota just hooks through the worm. Saves an extra step and don't need any one-trick tools in the tackle box.
You can hook it through the worm it works with lighter baits. I like the o ring because it helps my hook to land ratio with more hook exposed also I can give it a full cast and not worry about the worm ripping off
@@desertbassin additional hook up ratio… They say you can double o ring, kinda crisscross over each other. And run hook between both then keeping the hook facing away from worm. Or not parallel with worm /|\. The middle straight line is your hook. The side lines are your o ring crisscrossing. Try it out 🌵🧀🐠
@@desertbassin Yeah thats better. The spin rod that I have Right now is a peice of crap and can't cast very far. The bearings are fragged up too. HAHAHA

Are you on the Salt River system? Perhaps Canyon Lake? Crappie the size of Dinner Plates in Lake Apache; absolutely mind blowing...
Great tips. I've been slaying some Arizona bass recently myself.

Great video as usual. We were there today and it was on like Donkey Kong.
Bartlett has been on fire despite all the pressure. Seems like more and more big fish are being caught out of there
Now i know a new lake, ive been to most, just not Bartlet. Thanks for the tips

Robbie Brown absolutely man good tip 🤘🏼
Sometimes I make the tag end longer on the drop shot rig and it helps alot. Try it . Please
Iv only ever caught sunfish and channel cats here at bartlett. I'm going again next weekend to get some sunfish bait and try for a flat head.
Spine Rig is also essential with 1.5" soft plastic minnows
Can you do a truck, trailer and boat walkaround for us? I am trying to figure out a good manageable setup

The wacky is what I catch most fish with. Works anywhere from Michigan to AZ 🤙
It is such a deadly presentation! Fish can’t help themselves!
The only thing I couldn’t figure out is the color of the bait? What’s your go-to for murky water?
Armdad44 green pumpkin magic, okechobee craw, summer craw, and cinnamon black flake are all good options

The O-ring method allows you to use less bait. It really keeps your bait from being pulled off the hook!
Hey desert basin I live in Arizona and know some ponds that are loaded with bass and bluegill if you guys want to go hit me up
Great video...Thx for sharing
Is the garlic a must or just the wacky rig itself.
Alex Sanchez the garlic is just an added touch 👌🏼
Well done! Thank you for the help.👍
Jerry Ward thanks for checking out the video! I hope the tips help!
This was helpful. Thanks!
Thank you sir.
Is Bartlett open on weekdays?
Yes as of right now Bartlett is completely open for fishing or boating. Camping is still prohibited
Ok this was a fun trip
Nice Waterdog 👌
Do you have any good bait caster suggestions
There’s a lot of good options out there it all depends on your budget. The shimano slx is one of the best at $99
