Nice crappie, my brother fishes there and catches some big ol' crappie like the ones you caught. He says he can't but a bite when it gets cold there. Do you fish Patagonia during the winter and what are the coldest water temps?
Hey Vu, new to crappie fishing in AZ. Been going to Pleasant and have had rough days. Question i have is when do crappie start moving to shallower water out here, and being its beginning of October and water is cooling bout 70° now, should i try scanning more shallow water , or that 20ft to 30 ft range. Any advice helps, love the vids.
They’re catching them pretty good at Pleasant. In the northern arms off isolated trees in 10-20ft of water. Az crappie like to suspend in deeper trees during summer and fall. I only see them in the shallows around spawning season Feb-April
I know this video is older but could you recommend me some spots for crappie been trying and haven’t caught anything at Patagonia for this time of year
Please subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. I’ve been slaying them recently near the shore line around tullie openings. They’re at the tail end of the spawn. Most of the females are empty and holding offshore. Reed island, outside the beach areas are holding some nice schools lately
Where did you get those jig heads? Looked on Bass Pro Shop and Tackle Wearhouse and couldn't find them. Found some on Ebay but they don;t look the same. I live in Tucson. Are they available locally? Thanks for the very helpful video.
Is patagonia clean? I grew up in Sierra Vista, moved away for 25 years, and in that time Parker is polluted and the trout caught there taste bad. Crappie are good vittles if caught out of clean water.
@@vuau3734 Good info Ty. Knowing there's Crappie like that in there ima have to visit more often. Crappie that size make 2 bite fillets like I used to get in WI. Awesome breakfast food. A plate full of fillets, some fried potatoes and a cup of coffee. Mmmm mmmm.
Man we spent most of the day looking for some we only found one baby one. I don’t have the best graph (Garman stryker 4) I should be able to find them but today was tough. I might need some help at Patagonia.
Awesome video. Headed down in the next month and looking to get into some crappie and maybe my first flathead. Great info and awesome fish.
Following, loved my time In Arizona. That trolling JDG on Roosevelt threw me for a loop.
What a great day for you with your father. You will always remember this
Great video. Trying to get out this winter/ spring with our new little John boat. I'll have to try your method!

Thanks for the info.

Where do you get the jig heads? It’s a hard size to find

Hows the crappie fishing in Patagonia this time of year?
Post spawn pattern right now. They’re chewing if you can locate them offshore
Man we spent most of the day looking for some we only found one baby one. I don’t have the best graph (Garman stryker 4)

It’s pretty tough fishing for them this time of year. Look for them hanging around isolated offshore trees in around 12-20ft of water.
When is spawning from Nebraska never fished az for crappies I’m a cat man I live in Tucson
What rod and reel do you use
I own a few custom made rods by mud hole, and bass pro shop micro series paired with Shimano Sedona 500 and 1000 reels
Do you know when the cat fish stop biting
flat head fishing is good all year long. use live bluegills near the dam
Are there big channel cats there
When is the best time to chase them
Is that the same setup you use at Lake Pleasant in the spring?
Yes but more Kalin grubs on pleasant
Woooow dude that is awesome
What was the brand of jig head? 1/32
1/24th oz
I give a thumbs down because these guys eat these fish and fillet and freeze while the bite is on. With these videos, they are destroying a fishery
I'll keep The videos coming, thanks to
You Bob. I'll mention your name in my next one. Stay tuned buddy
