Fishing Urban Spillways LOADED w/ Fish! (Insane)

- Today we went urban fishing to 3 of Arizona’s canal spillways. These spillways can hold a ton of fish and a variety of species!
The only way to find out what is biting is to go fish them yourself! These areas are all over Arizona so tey are not tricky to find.
We used a variety of lures and bait to catch all the fish in todays video. When spillway fishing throwing artificials up in the current can be very productive so be ready with a space swirl or a bug.

My trip today was like spillway #1. I just got 2 small bass and no crappie. We just can't seem to get Mother Nature to cooperate and give us more than 1 day of nice weather here in missouri yet. But I will keep fishing. Be blessed. My friend.

A lot of them are guarding now
It is diffierent depending on body of water but I think some areas have started and some haven’t quite yet
I wish the canals ran thru the state, sadly its just the metro Pheonix area. When I lived in peoria we fished the canals an the salt river, Sierra Vista doesnt eeven have a park pond for fish

What GoPro do you use? I am going to use my GoPro hero 7 that I haven’t used in a long while and I’m just wondering if my GoPro 7 is still good enough or is it too old?
That should be good my guy, still use my eight it does well!
Hero 7 is plenty good, I used my hero 5 for years and only upgraded just for the slight boost in audio and quality.

I stopped running bread on bottom in the canals. I've had a lot better success running 1 to 3 feet under a bobber. Works really well in those fast moving spillways. Great vid. 👍

Question in some of the ponds in AZ why do they tint the water blue?
That is usually because of the heat. Darker water doesn’t allow as many sun rays through, which keep the fish from overheating
The actual reason is because that lake has golden algae and the treatment for that particular problem is known as copper sulfate which is a very intense blue color!!!

I want to ask.. why do people release fish that they've cought?
Well, catch and release fishing helps preserve the fishery immensely. It compensates for the people that keep fish every time they go fishing. Also eating fish out of these canals is something I wouldn’t do due to the pollution.

Why use the tiniest minnows ever? They're like 1 inchers😂 no wonder yur catching small bass you need som a good size shiners for some good large bass . Something big enuff not to fit in that tiny basses mouth. Your shiners look like half inch to 1 inch at the biggest
Well I basically go on with what the bait shop has at the time. And I disagree, I have caught fairly large fish on tiny minnows, and fairly small fish on bigger minnows it’s all about what’s around at the time. Shiners are not really common around here
@TheFishinMagician20 I get my own minnows and that's basically all i use, the minnows your using are usually referred to as crappie minnows. I use bigger minnows usually and use a bobber at about 1 foot and catch big bass very well.

Nah most of the SRP canals are open for fishing just can’t keep the grass carp, the CAP canals are the ones that are illegal to fish in and usually fenced off all around
