Great info for a floridian just learning to vamp/overland!
Yes please! Give us nice over landing locations all over Florida 🙏 I’m trying to rig my TJ for over landing. I’m located in Miami.
Most are getting closed down because of all the traffic. If you find a spot keep it a secret.
Yo check J.W.Corbett it’s got off-roading and hunting and camping there are some rules but that’s where I go with my tj and roof tent to camp it’s in west palm beach so not too far from you
@@sebastianseas952 thanks brother, what roof top tent do you have? With what roof rack? I’m trying to figure out the best set up for the best dollar
That's awesome man, I run a TJ with an off-road Adventure trailer.
Thanks for the 411 bro….please keep’em coming!
I grew up camping on BLM out west. Great experience. Moved to Florida and found your channel and is inspiring me to get out and camp again.
Thanks, I wish we had BLM land here.
Great video ! Florida is slowly becoming just one big plot of private property ! I ride a motorcycle and am always looking for places to ride off the beaten path (off road, forest roads etc,) but even when you find something it usually runs along side or into someone's private property. Love the state and always have ..but there is just way to many people down here !
Yeah, Florida is it’s all private or preserve.
This is awesome, definitely feel the pain of finding primitive camp sites. Theres a few good spoil islands that are available ive come to realize
There’s not much available for dispersed camping in Florida.
Please, the wife and I want to do more and need the spots!!! Lol
Man, I've following you for a while, and today I cake across this video. It was very good info. BTW, We picked up my Venturist trailer this past Saturday. Can't wait to take it out.
Thank you! You’re going to really enjoy that trailer. We absolutely love ours!
Just picked up a JLU in March and am getting it all ready for overlanding. Only lived in FL for 3 years, and I'm out of the Tampa area. Have no idea where to go. So videos like this are great.
This is awesome Kevin, it's really nice to talk about conservation and preservation
Thanks for shattering my beach camping dream 🤣
Good info...there is not many places anywhere that you can pull up in your vehicle and camp on the beach. Closing in on 20K!!
I like this format! Would be cool if you dropped in some of your own photos of the places you talk about!
More like this would be awesome. I'm moving to St Pete next month with my Tundra and plan on exploring all over.
Good to see you with another video! Here in Arizona we can boondock galore. Hitting San Diego in a week to beachside camp...it is heaven on earth! I tell women often that I camp and they always have negative responses. Princess Syndrome is real! Timmy C Arizona
Awesome video! Agreed between private land and rain/heat Florida can be tough to navigate if you want to stay outdoors for extended periods of time. Your video was really informative thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Yes, would love to hear more about overland if locations here in Fl. My stock Subaru Outback, children and I are ready to head out from Tampa on some awesome adventures.
Found your channel by that sticker you put at Wendy’s in Valdosta Georgia
Haha! Shut the heck up lol. I was wondering anyone would ever see that.
Thanks man!!!! Really appreciate the info!!!! Keep up!!!
Dude such a wealth of knowledge! Thanks, keep up the great vids.
Thanks for the camping advice, I moved to FL from out west and avid overlander and disappointed with the camping options
You’re welcome. It is disappointing.
Who showers while camping? Thanks for all the great info. Keep it coming.
Starting my overland adventures! starting with land cruiser 200 series. lift is complete, and need to add gear to my rig. roof top tent? awning? front or rear armor? snorkel? In Fleming Island so close to Ocala, Ginnie springs etc....
That would be awesome thanks. I just bought an Outback we are just getting started.
Thanks for the information, you are very knowledgeable about traveling in Florida.
I would definitely like to see a few more videos on Florida camping. Thanks for offering the tips and ideas.
Peanut island in Palm Beach county has nice beach camping (no cars). Some of the water management districts also have traditional and primitive camping sites on land that they own. Some are free or very cheap, you just have to make a reservation
Very knowledgeable and Thank You Sir
Yes man, keep em coming! I’m up in Jacksonville and always looking or cool places to go. We should connect next time you’re up this way!
Is that a new truck canopy in the thumbnail? It looks cool
Please do East coast video!
Thanks
Thanks... I really want to have that list. I am building a 6*12 Cargo Trailer Conversion and I am looking for boondocking places that aren't full out water and 4WD required. I have a F250 4WD as tow vehicle an okay with dirt roads that may be a little sketchy.
Love the video! Keep em coming!
Love it. Keep up the good work.
What about something within a road trip distance like North Georgia or Carolinas? Any places you enjoyed overlanding at outside of the state?
Thank You for the tips. Hey, hows the boat coming along? Any video updates on that?
We are a state surrounded by water but we have no beach camping. It's sad.
Another great video. Yes, a series would be good. I live in Jacksonville, so Osceola and Ocala are both convenient. I ha e 10k questions about many different aspects of your various videos. Next time your up this way, we should connect.
Thanks for the info!
I liked this video.. Yes, would love to learn more
Do you know about the wilderness waterway? 99 miles of backstory. chickee's away from the mangroves are pretty nice, if there is a breeze.
Never heard of that.
Thanks for the info
I have to agree, Ive camped in Ocala NF many state parks but booked years in advance, I stealth camped in parking lots and at boat ramps all the way down to Key west. Many toll roads in the southern half of the sate. Need to buy a Sun Pass or you will have to stop every few miles. Too may snow birds in the winter, and then there is spring break, hardly any slow season. Maybe around tax time when they go home to pay taxes.
Yup, we're snowbirds and went home early because our tax accountant had a meltdown :(
We originally did commercial campgrounds but now it's more COE lakeside campsites, WMA, boondocking and moochdocking :)
Have you ever considered putting together a phamplet with all your experiences of campgrounds etc..? You could do yearly editions and sell them on you channel here.
Very useful info
I like what you’re doing with this. I would say, yeah do some more. Also have you thought about a podcast/videocast ? Camping and overland in in the southeast. Not a lot in this spot.
We have water management distrists that are similar you can camp up to 14days for free at each location
Shhh. 😄
Iwas waiting to see if you were going to mention Shired Island. I live near there, and it is my beach camping destination of choice. The only downside about it is the bathrooms. 🤢
As a side note, it is pronounced Sheered by the locals.
I left that out so people wouldn’t flock there.
off topic, previous videos you were having issues with the truck not going into 4wd did you find the cause of the issue?
It's been 25k miles and it's still broken.
Just left Shired island last month. Definitely an interesting place, I'd try going during the week because the weekend crowds were pretty sus, a lot of drugs and parties, even dudes shooting guns on the road not 20 yards from our camp. And I can attest water was terrible🤢🤢🤢🤢
This was great thanks
Good video. 👍🏻
Series! And where can I get a Florida parks passport!!
You can get a Florida Parks Passport on line or at select state park offices.
'Enjoy all your videos. I'd especially like to see more about dispersed truly primitive legal sites you have found that are "unofficial" (not campgrounds), like the SWFWM sites. 'Love you guys emphasis on the good food. 'Hope to meet up with you guys sometime.
Me and a buddy are looking at doing our first 4wd / overland / camping trip. He's down South of Tampa and I am up in Jacksonville, we were thinking of meeting up and doing some primitive camping and light wheeling in Ocala, would that be the best place for us, or where else would you recommend? Thanks.
Right now the ticks are really bad in ocala
FYI
Is Bahia Honda RV camping spots only? looking for beach camping that you can just pull up with your truck and a tent.
You can pull up with a car and set up a tent. The problem is actually getting a site at bahia honda.
Good stuff 👍
When you go tubing in the springs where do you keep your car keys and phone safely?
Walmart has cheap water boxes in the camping area. They come with a snap you can connect to the tube
I like Goethe State Forest but there is only one state campground there, I don't see why they will not allow camping in the forest there are plenty of good places to camp in the forests if people would act responsibly.
That's the problem. No one would respect the land.
Have you ever tried camping at Goose Pasture up near Perry?
No, I've never heard of that.
How about some referrals for“COMPETENT” detail oriented shops that work on Overland vehicles.
can you list these state parks, maybe even links ?
Any new boating videos in the works ?
Every Friday morning
Where’s Einstein? Dog friendly camping over landing and boating are tricky with fur friends . You’re knowledge of where it’s safe and friendly to bring them would be very helpful.
Nassau County rescinded all active executive orders relating to the local COVID restrictions on 5/10/21 per their web page. Does anyone know for sure if Peter's Point is back to normal or did they figure out a different way to be jerks?
Did you happen to get any info on Peter’s Pt.?
Nice 👍
Let me know about the CB you have on your truck
It's a Baofeng Ham/GRMS radio. Not CB.
👍🏻😎
👍👍
Keep the camping videos coming! Developers realtors politicians and lawyers have ruined Florida. Beaches and navigable waterways used to be public domain. No more...
You can leave out where to camp in AZ, the less people the better. Plus all these people new to overlanding or just camping are messing places up by not cleaning up after themselves.
If possible please let me know the possibility of buying private land and converting into rv camping ground. And also approximate cost. In Florida. Land cost plus govt fee n laws. Thank you
Plenty of land available, but zoned for multi unit RV park, that you need to research, may even want a lawyer. Cost can go from $4000 an acre to the moon. Likely will have to be served by city/county water and sewer, I'd be surprised if a septic that large would be allowed. You really need a good real estate lawyer and a real estate agent that specializes in commercial land.
@@magaisacult2023Thank you for the info, I really appreciate your input. 👍I will research more on this. If it too tough will look into other business options. Thanks again. 👍
You really need to do alot of research on this, there's alot of Govt HUD requirement that go into an RV or mobile home park in Fla, not cheap by any means, but there are already established RV an mobile home parks for sale in Fl, do your research, an have plenty of money to invest.
@@williammccaslin8527 thank you for the reply. 👍this helps me on where to begin and the basic info on effort required .
20 weeks of vacation?? Where did you work, government?
Yes.
Florida has the most restrictive rules when it comes to outdoors. Shame.
We aren’t necessarily the most restrictive. We just don’t have as much public land as other states.
I love ginnie springs ive partyed hard there.
