That's my old stomping grounds, born and raised in DeSoto Co, used to go to that pavilion in Liverpool and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Fished in Charlotte Harbor for many a day. Love it!!

Many years ago I paddled a canoe downstream from Arcadia. Went fishing and caught snook. Great memories

Thanks for making this video. I love the Peace river. One day I hope to find a Megalodon tooth, but for 25 years now, no luck. Well, a few small, or broken ones. Seeing your videos, makes me want to record my trips.
I love the Peace river as well. I've found hundreds of sharks teeth.
Camping along Peace River has been one of the things I've wanted to do ever since I was a kid. I grew up in Homeland and Peace River was just a mile away. me and my friends always talked about spending a week on the River, but we could never get our parents to go along with the idea and be willing to pick us up at the end near the Gulf.
I love the peace river. It offers all kinds of adventures. From fishing, camping, kayaking, fossil hunting to just exploring.
I've been binge watching your videos lately, you're really making me miss Florida! Grew up in Lake County as a kid, would love to go back! Love the content man, keep it up! 👌

Heck yea just found this channel I kayak out of bartow on peace river and did 80 miles in 4 days with some friends it’s awesome place but it can be sketch in some parts.. so fun !
I've kayaked out of bartow and 60 as well. Last week I put in at wachulla. The river was super high.
That deck lay looks great. Thinking bout doing something like that in my little 13 foot boston whaler.

Love your videos! I really liked these boats when stationed in Florida. Then when I moved back up to NE Ohio I invested in a fleet of freighter canoes which are the same....great cargo carriers for skinny water using small outboard. But I couldn't educate the regional folks and the business failed. This is a niche market for sure. But once you own one you see the advantages. Thanks for sharing!

Years ago, i did a jetski trip from Kentucky lake to the Gulf of Mexico, ending at Dog River Marina, Mobile Ala. Tennessee River and Tenn-Tom waterway was my route. I know what kind of fun and adventure you are having 👍🏻

Ummm. Ok.
I've been canoeing and kayaking the river there for 35 years and it gets pretty shallow in spots this time of year, especially above Nocatee - there are places between Nocatee and Arcadia I've had to get out and pull my kayak. The best fossiling is above Arcadia.
The water is way up right now. I het you could boat all 110 miles of it.
@@OverlandFlorida I always check the water level on the Arcadia Canoe Outpost website before heading out. Also, the tide does have an effect as far up river as Nocatee and even a little beyond. Sometimes in winter the river flows backward from the tide where you launched from and beyond, lol.
Attach a jack plate to your transom. And move forward with a handle extension. You won’t have problems in shallow water anymore.

Not with the boat yet. I want to go to ichetucknee river. But I've kayaked on the Santa Fe around Ginnie Springs.
Thats a good place to eat. do they still have the shop in the back with the meg teeth & old out board motors ? the old owner had a big collection of meg teeth Dennis was his name i think. he told me his spots like 20 years ago.
We actually never went inside. So I have no idea.

The decking and the grab bar make your boat look brand new. Is there good fishing in the Peace river? Sounds like it’s pretty shallow and muddy
Thanks. It totally changed the boat. There is good fishing. We saw tarpon way up at our campsite.
I always wanted to jump off that old trestle bridge. Until I caught a 3' bull shark right under that bridge a few months ago. No swiming there for me.
At least swim on a busy weekend when there's many other people around lol.
Look for oxalic acid . It will take care of that rust stain. Nice vid

You need a se sport 200 hydrofoil on your motor if your boat is going up and down.
It was just too much weight in the rear. No need for a hydrofoil, just have to distribute the weight.

Thx for sharing. Why aren’t you using your GPS ChartPlotter maps, or even the Navionics App on your phone, they’re real time, real position? They have the depths of the waters, at least for a reference, and trim that motor before running aground🤔

Yes. But you will have to get out more than a dozen times to get around fallen trees.

Itsmuch more stable than an LT25. I'll have to get those measurements fir you.
I like gheenoes, but I really like yours with the wood deck in it, did it come that way or did you add it yourself, thx for the vid.
I did it all myself. It's fake wood. It's just a rubber flooring.

It cost roughly $100 to do my whole boat. I used 2 and 1/3 sheets of it. It was $34.99 a sheet on Amazon.

Those safety power cut-off leads are designed to go around the wrist, just on the watch risks it falling off potentially.
You wanna see the big gators go to the upper Hillsborough river. Be care going WOT on any river in Florida.
Yea, they aren't the biggest gators. But Hillsborough definitely has some.

Anyone know the differences in the lt 25 and the 16 super? Opinions on the better boat?
Not sure if you ever fish out of it but I was curious to know how the stability is?! I’m looking into getting the B-60 and I feel like the thing is pretty stable with 2 people standing and or sitting fishing. Am I right..?
Yes, it’s stable for 2 people to fish out of. It’s the most stable tiny boat. You can both even stand on the same side.
How did you attach the grab bar to the hull? I just purchased a RiverHawk B52 and would like to add one too.
The B60 has a false floor. So I screwed it to the floor.

Kevin, great video thanks. What's type of boat (manufacturer) and what size motor are you using?
The boat is a Riverhawk B60. It's 15'9 long. 60 inches at thr widest point. I think it's a 2008. I have a 2018 tohatsu 20hp that moves the boat 30mph. I get around 20mpg as long as I'm not going up a river.

@@johnsnow2347 some people will put a larger 2 stroke since they are usually pretty light weight engines.
Ok, so the tahatsu 20hp currently on the boat is a 2-stroke engine? So mabey a 25HP would bump up the speed to around 35 mph, which for a boat that size I'd think would be plenty.

I never worry about alligators. You just have to know in the back of your head that they are around.
That`s the same boat you bought used it cleaned up nice you took out the center well but it had a Honda 20 hp. what happened to that . I have been in that river and found a lot of Sharks Teeth .
That's the same boat. I gave it a makeover and a fresh engine. So far it's been a great boat.
Are you guys a club? The reason I ask is because my wife and me just got our second 4Runner TRD Pro. We traded our first one and I want to introduce her to the “reason” lol we needed the Pro.
We aren't a club at all. Just a bunch of like minded friends that like to be outdoors. Nice job on the new T4RP.
Do you know how to judge water depth by the color of the water ?....As water lightens up it's getting shallow. The darker water is deeper. Sand shoals can be fairly accurately judged by the shape of the stream.
I do know how. With the rain we have been having the water is dark with tanic acid so it can be tricky.
Would a Gheenoe be a good “first boat” to get into boating/camping with the family?
Depends how much weight/people and what type of water you will be in.
@@OverlandFlorida 2 adults, 2 toddlers, probably around 500lbs all together with minimal gear. Freshwater lakes/rivers I don’t plan to travel very far from home.

It would do great. That's mostly what you'd find out there.

Ehhh. I'd probably still buy it. But it's bleeding the dye from the sea deck. So the bottom of your feet turn brown and whatever touches it.
