    Thanks for taking the time to show us what these can do together, I have had the phantom 3 for 2 years and love it. Been using fatshark hd goggles using the hdmi module. as soon as i saw they brought out gimbal control i just had to buy the goggles and a new phantom 4 pro

      You are welcome, The Go 4 App has an option to put the Gimbal into FPV mode, locking the gimbal roll axis, so when flying and performing banking turns, the view in the goggles and recorded video show a view like a pilot would see from the cockpit. I will produce a little video of that soon to show. So stay tuned. Check out some of my other videos. I have been away for most of this summer for work, but back now and ready to fly and make more videos. Thanks for commenting and viewing. Happy droning.

    Thumbs up ere' Addy, enjoyed that - very interesting! Steve my other drone partner is getting a racing drone and the googles is going to be the main kit (more expensive than the drone!!!!). As you know we tried cheap googles to fly but depending on the phone you use the picture quality was pretty poor! Wish I had a DJI Google headset!!!!!! Many thanks for sharing your work - great job :)

      Thanks Shaun. I have the FatShark Dominator 3 goggles that I have tried which is popular for FPV and maybe the goggles Steve is getting? There is a big difference between the two. One problem is that it complicated the amount of equipment to carry and that you have to depend on having another person to fly with. Often I am out flying by myself and when I do fly with someone, it's fun but I don't get often get accomplished what my goals or expectations were planned. I need a Steve friend that is a drone enthusiast also. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Nice video Addy! I really liked the editing! Very smooth and fluid.👍 Do you have any issues with signal strength when flying near your home? It looks like you live in a pretty heavily wooded area. You’re really making those goggles sound good!

      I really like the Goggles as an option to the tablet. The fact I can share the experience is cool also. I can see other applications like search and rescue, situational awareness or just another element of hobby fun.
      WIth all the trees, yes I do have some distance issues but I can still fly it way beyond the line of sight that I fly in such a remote area. I would not attempt to fly as far if I were in more populated areas.
      Thanks for commenting and watching.

    Great videos Addy. I am confused about the original DJI white goggles and Phantom 4. If I use the USB cable I know I can see telemetry and picture (not HD) and can control the camera with head movement. My question and some confusion: How can I view telemetry and picture (HD) on both goggles and a device and still control the camera with head movement? I believe that the HDMI module for the controller doesn't show telemetry - correct?

  • @BirdWhisperer46
    @BirdWhisperer46 3 года назад +1

    Just got the DJI V1 goggles. Started the controller after connecting the goggles with the cable, then the Phantom 4, waited til they were connected, then started the Goggles. Is that the sequence? So I got all the telemetry in the goggles, the camera went right, left, up and down with head movement, but I got no picture. What did I do wrong or not do? [EDIT] HAHAHA, what I did wrong, was connected a new tablet to my controller, turned everything on as I said, and some setting for the camera had rest themselves and I could not tell it. What it reset was the brightness and speed and ISO. It was sending the camera a signal, but it was all so dark it was black. Once I adjusted all that back to normal, I was good to go. Phew...

    Addy, great vids! Question. When you route the USB connection from the RC through the K1 Shield and then out from the Shield to the HDMI input of the googles, are you able to get touch screen functionality? Or is it just a dumb screen after the pass through? Reason? HDMI output currently on P4P is terrible and glitchy. Not to mention that the head tracking is very abrupt compared to the Litchi app. Ideally, if I can route the USB through the K1 and still have touch function, I was hoping I could use the Litchi app in the pass through to solve all kinds of issues. Thanks

      Thanks for joining my channel Matt,
      When using USB to K1 Shield tablet and HDMI out from tablet to goggles (FatSharks, DJI Goggles ) or even a TV all with HDMI inputs from the tablet, the connection is rock steady and yes, the tablet still has full functional touch controls for working the DJI Go4 App. The HDMI output from K1 Shield clones the view of the tablet's screen so all information available to see is but touchpad on DJI Goggles dumb to the Apps controls on the tablet. However, the DJI Goggles app still works to turn HDMI view on and off and that's about it.
      Only USB connection to the dji goggles( except Mavic pro which is wireless Ocysynce) allows for controlling the drone from the goggles in parallel to the RC Controls maneuvering the drone. The Goggle app controls are the special features like Active Tracking, Tap to Fly, etc...
      HDMI from K1 Shield is superb, I use that most when showing people the Goggles when I fly.
      Thanks for watching , subbing and commenting.

    Thanks for the video! Question, can one also use the FT aviator joystick while using the goggles?

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  4 года назад

      I have not actually tried that but I don't see why it could not as the FT aviator is BlueTooth connection to DJI Go 4 App and Goggles are either HDMI cable or Ocusync connection to RC controller. I will test that and make a video now that weather is improving here. Although we just got a late season snow two days ago and its cold and windy, forecast is for more spring like conditions going forward, yeah! thanks for commenting and stopping by....... I have some other videos in the pipeline and should be out soon.

      Addy Overbeeke awesome thank you, my dads birthday is coming up and all he wants to do is fly fpv but he lost his left hand as a child and needs the joystick. But I notice when you set the joystick up they want you to plug it into the phone and I was worried that they would need the same plug

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  4 года назад

      @@salmastropolo1642 Yes, will do the test.The FT Aviator is great option for physically challenged. The BT connection I like because no wires to mess with. I think you are referencing my video ruclips.net/video/3gAhRSvhFS0/видео.html. I talk about how the FT Aviator connects and nice thing about the FT Aviator is that it can be tripod mounted or other mounting option like wheelchair or base plate because it incorporates a standard 1/4 inch 20 threads per inch threaded boss on the bottom of the Stick's base.

    Hi, do you have a video of the goggles doing head tracking flight? Or just the camera tracking? And, can you change from camera tracking
    to flight tracking on the go, or while flying?

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  5 лет назад

      Hi, I found it difficult to record the actual experience for showing YT audience, so I do not have another video.
      You can do both head tracking types and select between both in-flight.
      Using two fingers, swipe down on the Goggle's touchpad and you will be presented the shortcut menu. There you have a choice of Head Tracking Flight or Head Tracking Gimbal.
      It has been my experience sometimes to have to exit out of the current flight mode to start another. C2 Button on Controler can exit or X(exit) within the general menu.
      I have a link below from Tom's Tech TIme that great explanation of the features vs menu.

      Hope this helps. Keep-on Flying.

    Hello, I have p4p and Im planning to buy the goggles, do i have to install hdmi module to make head tracking work? Thanks a lot

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  4 года назад +1

      The P4p is available in 2 versions. The P4p V1 uses lightbridge and for head tracking using the goggles with USB cable.
      The P4p V2 uses Ocusync 2.0 and is a wireless connection to the goggles.
      HDMI module only required when you want tablet or cellphone dji Go4 app and HDMI video at same time. HDMI is video only, cannot control the drone via head tracking.
      Hope that helps explain. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    So, the Phantom 4 has gimbal tracking? I have the p4 and am hearing that it's not supported with the DJI Goggles.
    If the gimbal tracking is available with the p4, can I use it with the module that the rc came with or do I have to do hdmi?
    Don

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  6 лет назад

      Hi, I have both the P4 and P4P, I only had installed the Module on the P4P but according to DJI ( see imbedded table in my video starting at 0:21 time) DJI is listing in the table all the supported platforms that includes the P4.
      I have to believ the manufacture knows their own product. But in a few weeks I am on vacation and I will install the module on the P4, give it a try and let you know.

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  6 лет назад

      Head tracking works on the P4 but for all DJI less Mavic pro that uses Ocusynce, USB cable must be used to work Head Tracking functions.

    maybe a dumb question?
    I just got my drone (phantom 4 plus) a couple of weeks ago.
    But do you have to buy a different gimble?

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  6 лет назад

      Hi John Deer (I like that Company), Not sure I understand the question, but Gimbal is an integral part of the P4p's camera stabilization system and can not be changed. The camera and 3 axis gimbal on the P4p is the best in the market for the prosumer drone, don't have to buy one different or better . You made a really good purchase as prices have come down a little, maybe because Phantom 5 is highly anticipated in April-May? and the new will be more expensive. Is you question in relation to the DJI Goggles / Head Tracking?

      I am an IMac user and included in Apple/Mac OS is a very nice movie/media video editing program called "iMovie". A very capable editing program I used most of the videos I have made. Only recently I purchased a more capable version well know as Final Cut Pro X. In the DJI Go 4 App, there is very basic editing software. If you have Windows PC, there is a large selection of video editing software available for purchase. Adobe makes some of the best with their Adobe Premier being their high-end version. Newer Windows OS dropped their "Movie Maker". I use PC for Work and iMac at home, but for media production, I really like the Mac OS platform.

    Addy, Where did you purchase your "Nvidia Sheild K1 Tablet", it is very hard to find. I am thinking getting the DJI Googles, are they heavy has they said, are they really good? I have a P4P, a P4 and P3P, will it work on my P3P? Do there is a big difference by using the USB instead of the HDMI for the P4P?

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  6 лет назад

      Getting more difficult is correct. K1 Sheild is older now and a proven still powerful gaming tablet.
      Nothing like it out there that I know of that has HDMI output for a smaller sized tablet. Not sure if still being produced. You just have to keep searching Ebay, Amazon ...other sites for factory refurb or new . Price has come up a bit because demand has risen compared to supply.
      Yes, Goggles are heavy but well balanced on my head.
      Big difference HDMI vs USB. HDMI connection is for viewing only. USB supports viewing and control of Go 4 App from the Goggles touch pad. Googles work wirelessly with Mavic Pro using a connection call Ocusynce. So cable connection was my only option.
      knowing what I know now, I would spend $350 more and get the Epson Moverio BT-300 Drone Edition (agmented reality glasses Check out link....... ruclips.net/video/UCDNmdVTFNk/видео.html

    • @tesimpamonami9188

      Do you still get the 1080 on the USB? Do you also have to install the DJI assistant 2 ruclips.net/video/xXd06q-5bW8/видео.html ? The epson look good but still too much $649.

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  6 лет назад

      Yes, it is a lot of money. No required to use Assistant 2, but I think it makes updates more accurate the first try. Yes, both 1080 and 720 supported via USB. Two flight modes HD at 1080p 30fps and smooth mode at 720p 60fps. Noting that the 1080p changes to 720p when video signal strength is less than optimal, usually at a greater distance than line of sight. Hope this helps, I should have another video out soon about the goggles. Thanks for commenting

    • @tesimpamonami9188
      @tesimpamonami9188 6 лет назад

      Cannot wait to see it. I am saving for the Googles, too many expenses for the holiday. Right now I am using my phone with an app call CAVU, with my cheap goggles, work fine but want something clearer.

    • @AddyOverbeeke
      @AddyOverbeeke  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, don't rush in to get the goggles, only if you have disposable income and cost is not a concern. I liked them, but I find myself not using them as much as I anticipated I would. Using them requires another person spotting for you and the drone and more often than not I am flying alone. That is why I will look to get the Epson BT-300 AR Glasses hopefully for next Spring 2018 when winter is over.
