This discussion is a tight slap on those paid so called auto influencers and people who haven’t ever owned a German car yet will keep bashing them for no reason or fir very small issues
It’s true here in India vw is a victim of paid propaganda and criticised too much by its competitors

@@rohitv8634 you may give Citroen C3 a try that is pretty good substitute for polo, comes with a powerful turbo engine although handling im not sure how is it but plz take a test drive and look at reviews…otherwise the car is way better then it’s competition
Secondly if you want Indian brand then you may try altroz dca even that is good entertainer

Just to clarify, yes all the car manufacturers will have issues, some are more than other. The reason why VW/skoda are getting highlighted is because VW service is a hit or a miss. Maruti and Hyundai people dont give a rats ass about what you do with your vehicle as long as it is not directly voiding warranty. There are a gazillion posts on teambhp of VW refusing warranty for silly reason, for eg. in cases of DSG failure, warranty is void because the owner had an amaron battery of same rating as OEM battery. And the electronics, and the systems in VW skoda cars are not as simple as korean, they are complex, and many independant garages wont even take up the work in case of big breakdowns. It is the fear of these breakdowns that keep the customers away from VW/skoda.
The suggestions on teambhp are like, if you buy a vw dsg car, be ready for a DSG failure and repair under warranty before 6 years, and one more failure after 6 years with 1lakh + expense after warranty ends.
Lot of reports of gear actuator failures are there in hyundai/kia DCT also, but these issues have been settled relatively quickly and easily by the ASCs without much hassle for the customers.
I asked the service center staff, that I want to supply my own engine oil when buying my virtus 1.5 gt. they said no. I told them I will bring fully synthetic oil that meets/exceeds the rating requirements of VW. And the owner's manual says 5w30 SAE synthetic is what is recommended. Even if I want to provide a better oil, they dont want to oblige. I cant install an electronic accessory by hardwiring, because VW might blame it for DSG failure or any other vital part failure like how it has done for lot of users. I have to use only VW accessories, but they dont even have front parking sensors/front camera in case i need for emergency.
Im saying that VW/skoda dont offer that peace of mind which many users desire.
It is really the fear of breakdowns that scare people away from VW.

There was noise in my car 1.0 Taigun. Went to the service centre for 1 year service and did not tell them about break noise as I thought this was normal. After service, the floor manager takes the test drive of the car and tells the mechanic to redo a few things and also tells him to open the break, clean it and reassemble it. After that there has been no noise at all. Thanks to the floor manager the noise is gone. I was thinking this is normal noise but he has fixed it once and for all.

In Short, Paaji & Manishji I would Say in simple words - *VW-Skoda Cars falls short of buyers Expectations*
Because of Highest Global Quality Standards Set by VW-Skoda brand, buyers always expected their Cars to be faultless without problems, issues or Compromise. And that's the major reason why customers are complaining about small issues & problems in the present 2.0 Cars.
Indian buyers would easily accept & digest issues & problems in all other manufacturing as it is expected from Indian manufacturers.
    But not from VW-Skoda.

ABS is over sensitive, need to literally anticipate the stopping distance and brake accordingly. I recently switched to Slavia Ambition 1.0 AT. I have observed both brake noise during b2b crawling speeds and while reversing and brake dust on alloys. Now i totally understand the reason behind it. Thank you for creating awareness and sharing knowledge.

Yes, this brake noise is there in my kushaq 1.0 as well. Sometime it comes Sometime not. If the car is standing on slope and people starts coming out from the car. Brake makes noise. Also happens with the hand brake.

I'm glad this lovely video came out explaining that the brake noise is indeed an operational noise. I can say that with some conviction as well since I own a 2012 Skoda Rapid 1.6 N.A. petrol with the same 6 speed Aisin gearbox. Of course, it's not as aggressive as the newer ones in the 2.0 iteration of VAG cars but I keep hearing the noise when moving the car from standstill at times. Actually some RUclipsrs who may not have had prior experience with torque converter equipped cars found the noise disconcerting, probably moreso because of the aggressive nature of the TC gearbox in these cars. It's unfortunate that the 'non-issue' has spread like wildfire because of the way social media works

Honestly amazing video. I agree that everyone is quick to jump on the boat that says Skoda/VW 2.0 cars are defective. Everyone are keen to point out the few concerns and ditch buying the car. Which is very unfortunate. I myself didn't know what the brake assist and brake boosting exactly do until today. I was amazed how the brakes just get better and better at higher speeds. Now I know the explanation xD.
I think everyone are tuned to the mindset that they should get the cars with fewer cons/issues and hence they ignore the amazing pros of the cars.
To anyone who are staying away from VW/Skoda 2.0 cars, GO GET A TEST DRIVE. Then decide for yourself. Please don't ignore these cars based on things you read on the internet or things you hear from random people.

I think it will take time for 2.0 strategy to find equilibrium because due to cost reduction & localisation, skoda vw cars are not upto the mark of their standards ( as per what i can make out of the videos who have owned skoda vw cars and now driving 2.0 cars)
So it will take time get to know the issues and then the solutions for the challenges they are facing due to cost cutting
    Like they changed roofliner
Issues of power windows AC trip issues. Which they are resolving slowly
I heard in an ownership video where the guy said. His previous vento had all 4 power windows with anti pinch and one-click up down and slight tint.
Now 2.0 only driver side has one click up down. And sometimes that malfunctions too. Instead of going up it goes down.
So they would need to go back to their original quality to stand upto VW& skoda standards

I had a braking sound issue few months after purchasing my Rapid 1.0. From brakes a 'kat kat kat' sound used to come during braking. Had to take my car 4-5 times to the workshop because they weren't able to rectify the issue. Finally had to replace all drums, liners, pads, rotors and backing plates. Skoda was not doing it under warranty, even though the car had hardly covered 2000 kms. The local dealership covered the cost of repairs, after much complaints.

  • @23003964
    @23003964 Год назад +1

I think in a market of cost-cutting and keeping things cheap, you can get
    1) good brake but not so good tech or,
    2) Good brake, better tech (but maybe the hardware design and config isn't very compatible)
(can make peace with shortcomings, knowing at least they work)
Expecting the best of all will undoubtedly increase prices, and I guess things may improve for future models of the platform.

Yes, there is a breaking issue in Hyundai, my Creta 1.4 diesel has this issue. I have faced very dangerous situations due to this twice. When cars left two tires go off the road it loses the braking it feels like some brick is placed below the break pad.

I don't know if you agree, but I believe that people who usually buy VW or Skoda cars know atleast something about their cars or just cars in general. These cars are really well built and they do require some attention by their owners and once you start giving the proper attention to them, they are just in a league of their own. ( Like you said that just buy Grand Vitara if you want peace of mind or if you are buying a car for the first time).

    Hello Sir,
Just wanted to inform you about some issue / malfunction with my 1 ltr Slavia automatic:
Sometimes when I come to a halt at a signal or in traffic, the gear shift indicator shows D2 (instead of D1). Whenever the car halts, ideally the gear is in D1 always. But in my car it shows as D2 sometimes.
And then when I shift it to neutral, there is a slight jerk.
Have you recd any such complaints from anyone ?

Very informative. This brake dust issue i noticed in in slavia. I didn't had this problem in my previous polo. In polo dist used to be only on inner rim, but in slavia whole alloy wheels turns black.
One doubt still not clear, if this brake dust is due to abression of pads, it should occur in othe cars also, which are using disk brakes but didn't notice that way.
Second, what is brake wiiping technology and how does it work in slavia?

I have owned cars from other brands where i changed a rotor only after 80k kms. Is there a permanent fix to the issue with rotors?

Hi! Thanks for this video. I just stumbled upon here after researching for hours about brake dust issue - I’ve purchased Škoda Kushaq last week and I am noticing some black carbon like dust on front alloys. I initially thought it’s an oil leak from somewhere but there’s no drop on floor hence assuming it’s the brakes. Any workaround or suggestions that you can share with me please? It’s really disappointing to have these issues in the first place.

Hello. Great Videos man. I own a 2023 1.5 Virtus GT+ and I am facing an issue with Start stop. The Stop system kicks in even before car comes to a complete stop. I know it works with Vehicle RPM but it has become totally useless in city because of its aggressiveness. If I have my leg of the brake pedal and if the car is doing less than 10KMPL car just shuts off while rolling. At times I doubt if car is restarting by cranking using engine load rather than motor. Can you get any information on this?

Sirji...what all you said is very relatable and on point discussion. The reasoning you've given is exceptional. But let the other guy also talk or finish his point. This is not a debate. It's a discussion. Give him a chance to talk out his heart. You're always interrupting him. Your body language seems like you know everything than the interviewer. It's like you don't even want him to talk at all. He is agreeing what you're saying. He's not arguing on what you said. Poor guy even forgot 2 out of 3 points he was trying to say.... Chill Karo Sirji. Cheers.

@sunderdeep singh and @munish ji - Today, my Taigun GT+ (with DSG Gearbox) showed Transmission overheating at Ghat section in bumper to bumper traffic near Pune city enroute to Satara city. I had to stop brand new car on the sidelines and wait for 15 mins. I had to open the hood and could see smoke coming from inside of the hood. Thankfully, after the gearbox cooled down after 15 odd minutes, I did not face this issue again. But this is not accepted from a car driven just 2200 kms. Any issues that you faced around this earlier? If not, can you advise what could have happened? I am going to the service station next week to have this checked.
