2:05 7:26 Thanks for mentioning Punto. In 2009 when we bought our 1st car which was a swift, I was a noob. I didn’t have a driving license. Somehow I wanted to buy Punto and convinced my parents. We bought a Punto 1.3 multi jet in 2011 after selling swift. I have no words to express my feelings for Fiat and Punto. It completely changed the way I looked at cars. My cousin had almost bought a Honda city in 2017, I convinced him to go for rapid Monte Carlo diesel and he is thankful to me till date. I bought a new Abarth in 2019 after Fiat announced their exit, unfortunately had to sell it coz of financial issues in 2021. Now driving 11 year old grande Punto diesel. Still unable to find a perfect replacement under 25 lakhs. Only kushaq and Virtus are the worthy cars (barring the light steering). One last time I’m waiting for Jeep to launch their compact suv before switching to VW/Skoda.
People realise the value of brands like Fiat and Ford only after their exit. The same shouldn’t happen to VW/Skoda. Thanks to Sunderdeep ji for supporting brands that make cars with soul. Thanks to Munish ji for providing such informative sessions.

Manishji reminds me of someone who is not from same background but has curiosity to know in every field he might dig in. One of the most informed buyer for sure and I can understand his level of frustration when he might hear people rejecting VW 2.0 cars just for the sake of small engine and service cost. They forget that VW cars requires service at 15k not at 10k compared to others so average service cost comes out to be same. Truth to be spoken I too rejected Slavia because of 1.0 engine and went for Honda city coz of time proven 1.5 NA engine. Had this video been shoot 3 months earlier , I would have opted slavia and be a happy camper.

The ride and handling balance are exceptionally good. Now I want to replace my punto and I was looking for virtus gt and then I took a drive and compared it with my rapid. The ride is really good and stability is as power with rapid but I am disappointed with the steering feel, everything else is great. Then I decided to have a look at city hybrid and trust me the steering feel is better than virtus. It is an amazing car. As I own punto, rapid and jazz and previously owned a 2008 city vtec plus I can state even Honda has some amazing steerings. I drive a ford ecoboost. And previously owned a honda 1.2 ltr car. And I get 15-16 kmpl in the morning and 22 plus in the night with less or no traffic.
The key to extracting fuel efficiency from turbo petrol is, dont rev the car in each gear to the limit which we do in na engines, which i used to do in honda to feel the performance, you can upshift from as Low as 2000 rpm in turbo petrols, and car pulls strongly.
    Great video!
    Very well explained!
I went for ford ecosport after ford was gone, because I just loved the car for the build, performance on offer and later on discovered that I can fuel efficiency similar to what people get from small na engines.
Go for turbocharged cars, learn to drive them, u will enjoy every bit of it.

The only tool available was IRVM & ERVM. I drove on the densest trafficked roads & never felt like a needed to have these. In fact mastered the art of calculating the distance from the rear wall by the reflection of red brake lights :D. I think 360-degree and all are just nice to have features that get used only once in a while after the initial novelty is over. Don't make that as the basis for owning/not owning a car.

But if budget is higher say more than 12 lakhs than it would be better to go for NA 1.5 or higher or greater than 1.2l 4cyl turbo petrol engine like 1.5l TSI, NA 1.5l Hyundai, 1.5l i-Vtec, 1.5 NA K15 maruti suzuki etc.
As it will perform better on hills, more smoothness due to 4cyl engine, better mileage in low rpm.

i'll not say its a complete biased video's towards VW/Skoda group, but I have to say that you can't compare honda's 1.5 na petrol engine with VW 1.0 in any sort of manner, TSI engines are not that reliable, Me and my friend bought City and 1.2 gt tsi at the same time i had 100 km running everyday and he was a occasional driver, His polo's head got bad at just 1 lakh km and the turbo had to be replaced at the same time, In the mean time my city has 2.8L km on odo and it has Zero work done on the side on engine (Even no Clutch Plate replacement) . Staying biased to your Fav brand is good but just blindly saying that its the best i would have to say it's not fair. VW's dsg has a very high failure rate against all the Automatics in the market especially dq200 dry clutch unit which is the most used DSG in India, It does heat up quite a bit and thus fail, VW's are very criticised in USA for part failures. I'm a huge huge fan of VW group for their dynamics and performance but calling it reliable i won't support the statement. Honda city 1.5 NA is highly reliable compared to what virtus/slavia 1.0/1.5.
P.S. VW's have lowered there parts prices quite a bit but still there charger for service is extremely high, like i visited vw service centre with my friend for his check engine light they chraged 2500 + gst for just checking engine light with there obd tool. Indians do have money but VW asking this amount of money over small things make me sad

Fiat Tjet Engine is a gem of an engine like the VW TSI. But nobody in India talks about it. I owned 2 Tjets & second one ran to 73k km but the engine was exactly like Day 1. Tjet coupled with HPS, 4 disc brakes, and tank-like build was a gem of a car. I would say Vento, Polo or none of the cars below 30L are a match for it (in 2010 Tjet on-road price was 10.8L in Bangalore). On highways i used to overtake cars much higher segment with ease. Had encountered many emergency braking scenarios; the car used to come to standstill in very short distance without any drama.

im a fiat linea owner and also have punto evo 75 hp in family i love the way the steering and suspension of fiat cars works in perfect balance of comfort and handling.Brothers im very convinced by your discussion and wish i could be a part of your discussion kaash main aap key saath beth kar discussion karta aur apna malaal batata ki how much iam dissappointed by the dissappearing of good car making brands from india.Bhai ji FORD ne to hum nalayaq indians ke mutabik cars bhi banani shuru kar di thi becharey solid bodies sey light bodies par bhi aa gaye the(e.g figo and aspire) three cylinder 1.2litre petrol engine bhi banaya jo hatch back class main leading power figures lata tha,aur to aur service bhi 3500 ki kar gaye they par phir bhi logon ney teen key dabbey aur videogame ki tarah chalney waley steering wali cars ko preffer kiya.Price is not the factor here coz verna aur i 20 to polo aur vento se bhi mehangi thi.Yeh kehtey hain vento main space nahi hai to insey poochein ki verna to ek qabar key jaisi hai jis ki rear seat main agar passenger agar dhas jaye to oopar wala hi usko bahar nikal sakta hai.post zara lambi ho gayi bhaiyo aapki videos ki tarah par kya karoon jazbaat hain i cant haelp it i wish i can sit with you both and share my views if possible.Agar ho sakey to mere kuch points apni videos main discuss kar lena ill be pleased.

Hi Sunderdeep ji and Manish ji, thank you for sharing this knowledge and so many doubts are now clear. I have one more doubt and I may sound funny because I am not technical in this field, but still I will ask and if you could please reply.
Let's assume there is a situation where a vehicle with 1.0 ltr turbo engine is set to ascend on a steep hill and that too in traffic with vehicles moving very slowly. I think in such a situation turbo will not kick, So what you think - how will the vehicle perform with 1kcc-engine-in-suv-with-comparatively-more-weight + turbo-not-kicking + ascending-steep-hill + slow-movement?
    Thanks

  • @Ahmadbaig007
    @Ahmadbaig007 Год назад

One thing is slightly wrong here Sunderdeep ji.
In turbo charged engines, along with higher air quantity, we also send more fuel. The air-fuel mixture does not change much and each engine tries to keep it constant for max efficiency, that is always being sensed using sensors in exhaust gases. So during peak turbo zone and high rpms the 1.0 turbo is actually burning more fuel than a 1.0 NA engine. And that is why it is extracting a LOT more power than just by having more air.
Having more air actually allows small engine to burn more fuel and generate more power.
Peak torque at 2-2.5k rpm is a beautiful side effect of using pressurized air to fill the ignition chamber.
    I hope I cleared it
