Thank you SO much for this! All my unspoken questions were answered and I have an amazing looking pillow that I'm very proud of! Thank you again from New Zealand ❤
You are awesome! I feel more confident each time viewing your tutorials and putting them to work. Thank you!
I am loving all of these videos. I've been sewing (clothes, home dec) for 25+ years, but not consistently, sometimes not for a year or two, but I LOVE it. It's therapy. But I've lost confidence in how I think through design and construction. Your videos confirm (or correct) my thinking and planning. An excellent guide for execution, too.
Thank you so much!
So agree: I have to get in the Zone before a project in order to concentrate & retain the stages in my mind, plus copious notes! So helpful to have these tutorials to focus my mind quickly.
Yay! That's the secret I was looking for, I always Always sew the welt to each circle before applying to the body and then cry when they dont fit lol! Thank you!!
I struggled with bolsters too. Took me years to figure it out! Glad I could help you!
Your videos are wonderful! This one was exactly what I needed. I was a little intimidated to try it but you made it very simple. Thank you!
My draught excluders are worn out (used my man's discarded wool trousers & the moths ate 'em!) so I'm re-making with yr formula. So much easier & consistent - thanks so much for the benefit of your expertise!
Fabulous video! Thank you! Your tips will make the bolster that I’m making for a client all the better! I would have sewn the welt on the circle-your tip about having one piece able to be adjusted is so good!
I learned that tip the hard way 😂
Just finished a large bolster. Turned out perfectly thanks to your video!! Thank you. ❤
AWESOME! 👏 👏 👏
Great video! Makes sewing bolsters easier!
Thank you for this video. It is great and easy to understand!! Really appreciate it!
Thank you so much. Your videos have been a life saver…
❤love it because very clear explan how to make it work
Great instructions, particularly the measurements.
Thank you!! Yup - it’s SO much easier when you can measure right!
Wonderful like every time 🫶
Thanks!
Thank you!
Can you recommend a good source to buy inserts? Love your videos! I’m learning so much :)
@@rubyclairejohnson-dj8dv So glad you like the videos! I get my inserts from either wholesale suppliers (United Supply Co or Rowley Co) or my local home dec fabric store. I’m sorry I can’t help more!
Excellent! Love all your videos! Very well done. Love your doggie too! May I ask where do you get your bolster inserts or how do you make one that big? Thank you!
We have a couple of local shops that sell home decor fabrics and supplies such as pillow inserts, which is where many come from. I also get them from my wholesale suppliers. I'm afraid I don't know much about online sources as I'm able to find everything from my trade resources. Rowley Company is an option, and you can certainly make your own inserts using polyester cluster fill stuffing though! I talk more about it on my video about pillow stuffing :)
Is there anything I should watch out for/ be aware of if I’m making a bolster out of mohair? I don’t have much experience working with thick or napped fabrics.
A household machine will probably have to be hand turned with a heavy needle. If there’s a nap you’ll need lots of pins, and it helps to release pressure on the foot. Even if that requires a loose or irregular stitch, it’s best to get the layers attached evenly, then go back over them. Best of luck!
Why do you have to measure all around bolster and do subtraction and division for calculating its length? Just one measure from both left to right ends should give you the proper length, right?
Thank you for your question! The answer: Not if you want a snug custom fit. Fill density varies, accuracy of the size of the flat end piece on the insert varies…you can certainly determine the cover size anyway you want but your results will be inconsistent if not determined mathematically in this way.
I would like to know if you can make a pattern for a Bolster pillow, Thank .. I need 10inch round and long 66inch
Hi there, are you having trouble with the instructions on how to figure out what size to make your cuts? I pattern isn’t really necessary since it’s basically just a rectangle and a circle.
May I ask what size welt did you use?
I keep a few sizes in stock but I use 1/4” most often, followed by 3:8”.
@@ASquarePillowIsntSquare thanks so much 😀
Misleading, You don't show how to make the pillow, just the cover. Should change your title to cover.
It does say cover in the title. Have a great day!
Will you make a video how to sew a double sided mitered flanged pillow? Thanks much
Yes, that’s a tough one but I’ll add it to my list
